Hi ladies! It's been two years since I last checked in on this board. I have gained 13 pounds since then! Aargh! Unable to run like I want because I am always injured it seems, but eating like I run ten miles a day. That must stop! So...here I am. Back at ol' faithful MFP. How is everyone else doing?

You could ask your doc about the prep that uses a couple of pills and a lot less liquid. I tried that one a couple of scopes ago, but it didn't work for me... didn't really clean me out. But everyone is different. Might be worth asking about.

i just thought i'd put this out there for you guys. (UC dx'd in 1996.) I have dealt with this issue forever it seems. After doing some updated reading on the disease, I started using enzymes several times a day. I have used beano in the past, but I have a new favorite called Omega Zyme Ultra. The Omega is actually spelled…

i made some chili this week out of tosca's clean eating recipe book. didn't follow exact but pretty close and it was fantastic. no meat but didn't even miss it. you start it with carrots, red bell pepper and onion chopped in a food processor (really fine) and cook that in olive oil with a lot of chili pepper and cumin...…

very interesting. i have done protein powders on and off but never really paid attention to glutamine levels before. are you replacing meals with the drinks? if your gut isn't working so hard, maybe that's also helping it calm down? just a thought.

guess i am going to dust off that old bread maker... can smell it already.

i felt like i should add this in full disclosure.... i do not eat 100% clean. :-) i have in the past, but i do allow myself a small percentage of not clean stuff. just works for me.

just checked it out. way cool. thanks.

i saw the clean eating book the first time on a friend's kitchen counter. i was about 38 y.o. -- that was about three years ago. i've started and stopped and have gone full force and kind of in between a few times now, but swear by the lifestyle when it comes to good health and just plain feeling good. it has helped me…

i lost most of my weight just eating clean, but when i got down to about ten pounds from my goal weight, i had to start counting calories to drop more weight. it is obviously much easier to limit calories when you follow the eat clean rules! i think once you are at that goal weight, you will have trained yourself well on…

isn't it crazy how much better we feel after shedding pounds? i love and appreciate that about your feet not hurting! so true. it is so much easier to exercise at a lighter weight, too. i feel so much better now than at 35. i fluctuate alot right now about four pounds up and down, which drives me nuts. wish i could…

ah...the coffee thing. i am okay drinking it black as long as it's a flavored bean. but for the most part, i use stevia. it's got a pretty good taste. not like sugar, but still sweet. and, it's considered clean. they make stevia sugar blends, so be sure to get just plain stevia if you're interested in keeping it clean.

i liked tosca's original book -- clean eating. it really motivated me. and i absolutely have to plan out my meals for the week and stick to the cooler. it's all about preparation and planning.

as far as butter goes... the cleanest version is just pure butter--no processing, no chemicals. i think it's not typically considered a clean food because of the fat content, though. and if the sugar free stuff has a chemical sweetener in it to make up for the lack of sugar, then it's not clean. hope it helps! good luck. i…

has anyone tried the YONANAS machine? seems a bit overpriced at 50$, so thought i'd look for some opinions before buying...

i guess i am just lucky. i have had UC (lower intestine) since 1996. i have tried EVERY UC recommended diet under the sun over the years--to the point of the obsession over what i ate or didn't consumed my life. i finally rebelled and just decided diet did not help me. the only thing that has ever helped is the right…

if you go to the eatcleandiet.com, there are lots of people on the "kitchen table" link that post their meal plans. IMO, it's something that has to be individual to you. once you get used to eating clean, u will be able to come up with meal plans that work for you. i eat whole grain bread and eggs every morning. have a…

if i add the calories i do not lose weight either. maybe i don't work out as hard as some of those that actually do eat the calories--i don't know. but, i think it's an individual thing. some people are really passionate about it though and will tell you to eat the calories!

yea for y'all! i am on my third and longest run eating clean. i had a kitchen remodel get in the way the first time, then an illness... but this time i've actually had a chance to give it a pretty long run and it is truly becoming a lifestyle. i have lost 28 pounds total, starting back two years ago... most of it this last…

a really frozen banana blended with a little vanilla almond milk makes a great ice cream substitute. for those pms days -- through in a few dark chocolate chips. really good.

ahhh... yes. i can't watch cooking shows at night anymore because this is hard enough without watching an iron chef cook all that incredible food. eat a giant salad with your dinner to get really full. works for me quite often. on those nights you just can't do without, keep a frozen banana handy in the freezer (peel…

hi all. sueset--these boards can get really big! in response to your question about keeping it manageable where everyone can really connect, maybe you could create some subtopics--i haven't read all the posts, but you could probably find a few folks who have some common specific goals -- health issues, weight training,…

Who has done "stripped" by Tosca? Worth the money? I've got a few of her others and love them. guessing this one is good, too, but am trying to get some feedback on it.

hello. i have also struggled with this some; i'm always wanting quick proteins i can take to work... if you do cheese (some clean eaters do and some don't), string cheese is an easy one. and of course there are protein powders--if you can find one that's low in sugar. i do add the EAS whey vanilla every now and then to my…

Hi, Robin! How is your journey going? It's been a few months since you last posted here. I just joined this group and it seems there are still lots of crickets. The best info, and first info, I ever received on eating clean is from the queen herself, Tosca Reno. If you haven't found it by now, you should check out her…

Thanks for doing this! I needed some motivation. I am in and will post tonight when I'm done!

health central told me: You have 25% body fat. You have 30.8 Pounds of fat and 92.2 Pounds of lean (muscle, bone, body water). Wow--hearing that i have 30 pounds of fat kinda freaked me out. definitely motivation to start weight training.

just bought some raw ACV tonight and had my first drink. i loved it! it was even fizzy. i thought it was a bit tart, but it was refreshing. i have ulcerative colitis, but it is kept at bay with meds. i am looking forward to seeing how this helps my digestion. i do eat clean and have trouble every now and then, but not near…

hello! i do eat clean and love it! it is now definitely a lifestyle, although not an obsession if that makes sense. had a lot of neck problems a couple months back and doc said you shouldn't run anymore -- so after a lot of feeling sorry for myself, i bought some yoga dvd's. i don't know a thing about all these kinds of…
