  • Napa Cabbage makes much better lettuce wraps then regular cabbage. We actually cut out the egg and chop up all sorts of veggies and ground meat and sauttee it up in whatever spices we have on hand. Drizzle a tiny bit of Taos Thia Peanut butter sauce over the top and you've got one big plate of healthy awesomeness!
  • I got to the YMCA for Zumba classes and use the gym. It's GREAT for drop in classes!
  • I'm tying the knot in Anahiem next month. I have a friend who is a professional DJ though who is in Oside! If you need someone, let me know! :)
  • I 5'9" with a little more to lose (I'm around 210 right now). Add me! :)
  • I keep hearing that blog come up. I'll have to check it out! I'm a wedding mentor at Magical Weddings blog for out of the box Disney weddings. :)
  • Wow... after paging through all of this (and working in the medical feild myself) I can tell you that there is a REASON why we call it "PRACTICING MEDICINE". Science, studies, etc are still somewhat subjective. You can find statistics to support just about any argument. Nearly all studies can be discounted for one reason…
  • Oh! And here's a sexy place that no one has mentioned yet - SOMA! LOVE THEM for a splurge! :)
  • I hate hearing so many women taking the "Victoria Secret Standard" as gospel. Even at my HEALTHIEST, LOWEST weight I never fit comfortably into anything at Victoria Secret. It's not "you" that is ugly or unnatural - it's THEIR clothing sizes! They are UNUSUALLY SMALL and just keep getting smaller, as if to prove that "you"…
  • It looks like you lost some in your neck (which makes your face look slimmer indeed)! Good job! :) If you're getting your lobes peirced, Enjoy! If you're getting your cartilage peirced, DON'T do what I did and get them both peirced at once! (It's pretty painful and you have to sleep on your back to get any rest at all!) Do…
  • I was bad about adding it to my diary here every day. So that's probably a good chunk of what you're seeing, and once we realized that it wasn't a lifestyle we could commit to long term (he can't because the Navy doesn't allow them Paleo friendly food on the boat, and I simply don't have time to cook every meal and work 12…
  • I LOVE Just Dance 3 for the Wii! :) It's not a "fitness game", but it's so much fun that you won't want to stop playing! And if you want some healthy competition, let me know! I've run a challenge for Just Dance 3 before and it's lots of fun. Usually I make a monentary prize of $5/week to the winner that week.

  • Thanks all! I'm committed to doing this for a month (we allow 1 'cheat' meal/week - in the past, I've found that mixing up my calories really helps so one high day works for me). Tonight - Pork and veggies!
  • I was thinking about adding cheese back in too, but I was am going to stick it out this month. I have some concerns about coconut oil. I had high (not dangerously, but still..) cholestrol. I used to fight it by eating a big breakfast (some form of fruit, a bowl of oatmeal, and scrambled egg beaters), but lately I've just…
  • Yup, I eat meat, but a good chunk of my protien, before going Paleo, was in dairy - greek yogurts, cheeses, whey protien shakes, etc. Fruit is my easy "go to" when I'm hungry, but that probably needs to change!
  • August 12th here! We eloped a while ago (due to the military making us reschedule our wedding like 3 times...), but this one is SET IN STONE!
  • Is there a gourment grocery store near you? In Escondid, Major Market had some good take out options. Usually most good stores have some sort of food court where you can stack it up and get something on the go. I have to say in general - I'm jealous! I moved from So Cal to be with My Sailor where he's stationed (WA). We…
  • I'm actually looking to LOSE weight, but if I can't net at least 1400 calories/day, I'll gain or maintain. I heard many folks lost like 10lbs in their first week of Paleo, so I was really excited to get on the wagon and give it a go (not to mention LOVE the low-carbon footprint, locally grown concepts behind it). My first…
  • I dated a guy 13 years my senior when I was in my mid 20's. The things I was hoping for (a more established life, maturity, etc) weren't there as I'd hoped, and the relationship eventually died. Also, I learned he wanted more kids (he had 3 awesome kids from a previous marriage). I wasn't willing to get on that train with…
  • I'd add in a small snack - like a protein shake you can sip at during the day? That could add about 200 calories. What about adding some light cheese to your breakfast sandwich? I ignore my fitbit calorie count and only log in MFP. I aim for being around 200 calories of my goal each day, and going over one day. It's worked…
  • What a great idea! You can also test your skills at www.runforyourlife.com! My husband and I are running as zombies and as survivors! if you're in the portland/seattle area - join our team! • Tried both and here's why I choose myfitnesspal - 1) IT'S FREE! 2) It uses REAL WORLD, READILY AVAILABLE nutritional information. I don't need to eat at certain places that have WW points listed on their menu and I don't have to carry around calculator to find the "point" value of what I'm eating. 3) YOU CAN'T GAME THIS…
  • How old were you when you got engaged? 20 the first time, 31 the 2nd time. How long had you been together before getting engaged? 2 years the first time, 3 months the 2nd time (but been friends for 13 years prior) How old were you when you got married? 21 the first time, 31 the second time. Are you still together (if so,…
  • Been there done that. Got an "average" number for both GOT and GOB style positions. I used to log it as "Cardio Special 1" or "Cardio Special 2".
  • Don't forget you also got a much bigger smile :)
  • Good stuff! All of those symptoms are also general symptoms of a food intolerance. If someone is experiencing any of those things as a result of something they are eating - something is off balance! I'm pretty much out off cow all together. I'll have quality red meat once a month if that. I eat cheese rarely, and I don't…
  • And if I see someone struggling through a workout who is heavier than me, I am even MORE inspired, because I know how much it must hurt, but how well they are doing through it! :)
  • I used to feel this way when I worked out at home. I used to feel the same "social anxiety" embarasment when I'd go out to eat with people and I knew that ordering a salad would be better for me than whatever they were eating, but I didn't want to be the "odd man out". Because that's what is really going on - you're the…
