great post -- thanks for the honesty. We have all been there. I once read that the reason men succeed more often at weight loss than women is because of the guilt. Men have a bad day - chalk it up as a bad day and move on. Women have a bad day and beat themselves up about it for weeks. So for today -- BE A MAN!!! Let…

that's just crazy! And congrats on eating healthy! What always gets me are the unhelathy people that are constantly eating unhealthy -- and I eat healthy MOST of the time -- but heaven forbid I ever eat something unhealthy....then I have them ALL on my back. I just want to ask them to race me up the stairs -- and we'll see…

As a female runner that often runs alone -- this has shaken me. How very tragic! I too will be running in her memory on Saturday!

Well - on behalf of parents that realize how difficult your job is.....THANKS for all you do!!! And hope your daughter feels better soon! :flowerforyou:

Sad that THAT is reality. I am very thankful that there are people with the knowledge and patience to teach. I know I couldn't do it -- it takes a very special person -- and for all of you that do it -- THANK YOU!!!!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Not everyone blames the teacher -- some of us are truly…

Sounds like a fabulous idea -- a bikini:noway: -- now that's motivating! Need to hang mine on the wall so I can be reminded daily:bigsmile:

Unfortunately I can relate all too well! My attacks started about a month ago. I see a surgeon tomorrow about having it removed. According to the test it's operating at 9%. I currently can't eat hardly anything that doesn't upset it. I have never looked so forward to surgery in my life. And after reading all your posts, I…

I go see the surgeon about mine tomorrow. My cousin just had hers out two weeks ago and is still doing well with weight loss. If anything, I think it will help in that you have to be more careful of your fat intake. She also said the surgery was a piece of cake. I saw her last week and she looks great -- getting around…

Hi! I'm doing my 3rd marathon on March 18th! Good luck -- I would love to help cheer you on. It's tough -- but a great accomplishment. Just remember -- pain is temporary -- pride is forever!
-
get out and walk or jog. Nothing strenuous -- just slow. You'll be amazed how much better you'll feel. Tough at first -- but it'll help reduce your soreness.
-
check out www.mizuno.com -- they have the most extensive do-it-yourself fitting guide. I absolutely love mine!!!
-
Absolutely -- I ran my first 5k in May and my first 1/2 in September. You'll be fine -- just be careful not to increase your mileage too quickly. Congrats -- and good luck!!!

I had my kids draw on my hands -- when I was tired and wanted to stop, I looked at the "I LOVE U"s and it helped keep me going. What kind of role model would I be if I quit. Music helps too! As for eating during the race, everyone is different. You should experiment during your upcoming long runs. I eat a Gu or gel about…

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Mizuno Wave Creation. Check out their website -- they have the most in depth shoe fitting questionnaire. The ones they suggested for me are perfect. Purchased them a week before my marathon and ran it with no problems - no blisters - and even was able to ditch the inserts I used to wear in my Sauconys…

Mizuno Wave Creation    -- used to use Saucony -- well, probably have tried most every brand:blushing: -- some girls have a closet full of heels & sandals, I have a closet full of running shoes:bigsmile:

ajs -- I'm having the same problem. Everyone assures me that there will be a turning point. I just don't understand how I can work so hard and not see any results. Keeping pushing through -- here's hoping we both get the loss we are looking for.:drinker:

finished day 12 - cario power and resistance this morning. Whew! I can only imagine what month 2 has in store! I can commiserate on the weight gain thing. I have been eating pretty well but not losing -- GAINING!!! :explode: Going to try to track my calories a little closer and see if I can get a handle on this! Congrats…

Got in the 5am Pure Cardio! I am really starting to hate this one! Who in their right mind can jump up - jump down - jump back - do 8,439 pushups and jump back again! Those things are killer -- and I hear that month two has more of these LEVEL drills -- I hope that DVD comes with an oxygen tank!!!

jchapa -- CONGRATS!!! What an accomplishment! Please tell me more! Did you follow the meal plan -- did you loose weight - inches? Do you feel great? I am a runner and just completed my second marathon. Decided to take a running break and try this -- but the scale is not liking it. Just started week 2 -- any…

Happy Monday! Had to skip the workout on Sunday but got in plenty of exercise playing laser tag and flashlight tag. Back on track at 5am this morning with cardio power and resistance. whew! Need to get the diet under control!!!!

Happy Saturday! Halina -- I started last Sunday with my fit test. Monday was tough and I was walking funny on Tuesday!!! By Friday (which was the 2nd round of the Plyometric Cardio) the soreness had gone away and I actually enjoyed the workout. Still couldn't complete everything but definitely pushed it! Can't wait to see…

Found an interesting picture that might help us all feel better. If the scale is not moving -- but you are moving to Insanity -- then chances are you are burning fat and adding muscle. Check out this link -- it shows a picture of one pound of fat next to one pound of lean muscle. I know I would MUCH rather have the muscle…

Happy Friday! Week one is officially completed! Did Plyo Cardio something this morning at 5:30. Was not as tough today as it was the first go around. Still had to take a few breaks -- but a great workout. Tomorrow is a rest day -- whew! Edburg -- how did that morning workout go??? sewsinthesouth -- did you follow the meal…

biged -- I do the workout first thing in the morning. It is definitely hard -- but I prefer to workout on an empty stomach. Give it a go and see how you feel.

Happy Thursday! Pure Cardio COM-PLET-ED!!!!! Woohoo!! It was definitely tough. I like the water breaks (aka gasping for air breaks) in the other workouts. Definitely had to stop a couple of times -- but I enjoyed that one. I think, now that some of the muscle soreness is subsiding I might actually start liking these…

Dawn...really...you had to say that Pure Cardio was your least favorite -- of course that is my scheduled torture for tomorrow!!! YIKES!!! Hope the knee feels better. A friend was warning me to be careful -- cause running never takes you bounding left or right, unless of course you are running in traffic. The moves are not…

Can't wear them personally :blushing: -- I wear tights. I do have one pair of runderwear  they are made by Under Armour -- I will wear them if I feel like I need to otherwise I will put shorts over the tights or long shirt or vest.

Looks like we have similar goals -- I'm trying to lose 13 pounds by June 10th. Looking forward to doing this insane journey with you!
