I had to do it for myself and my son.

Thanks! I was very strict in sticking to below 1200 calories. My goal for workouts was burn at least 2000 calories a week- I typically exceeded that by doing 400-500 calorie burns 5-days a week. Sometimes 2 workouts a day. I do not eat my workout calories earned. My diet is high protein, low fat, low carb. I try not to eat…

Make sure you eat something before you workout. Even if it's light. I do that and I avoid the dizziness and sick feeling. I usually eat an apple and string cheese. And rink plenty of water.

Just posted above yesterday. A little chaotic right now due to a move so don't look at my food today!

Absolutely!! Breakfast: Option 1: egg white omelette with turkey sausage crumbles, onions, peppers and cheese. Option 2: 4 hard boiled egg whites and grapes. Option 3: I make egg white muffin/quiche. Fill muffin tins with peppers, onions, sausage, potatoes (whatever you want), pour in egg whites until 3/4 full, bake at 325…

Dr says between 5'8" and 5'10".

1200 calories. And I don't eat the calories I earn by working out.

I lost more with MFP. I found that it was easier to track and I had more support...even if it was all online!

I do go through times where I gain some back but I did it once and I know I can do it again! Now is one of those times where I am getting back on track. As far as a difference... No. I just do what works. If I don't enjoy the food I eat I won't eat it and I'll find something unhealthy. So I buy stuff I like. And I keep the…

I was easily motivated at the beginning with my rapid weight loss at first. My advise would to be start with walking and building core ( like you're doing). Then just build slowly. Write down what you do and try to do more of it or longer the next time you work out. You should see your weight loss increase and your…

My husband just kinda went along. He knew he needed to lose weight as well (he comes from a very large family as well). I just make sure that he thinks he has some sort of say in what I'm preparing. And he gets some things that I don't. Like last night we had turkey burgers. He gets a bun while I don't. He gets to pick…

Thanks!!! And yes, he has been on the journey with me simply because I feed him ;)

I started out with walking because I couldn't do much more. I would do this outside, get my son out there with me in his stroller, or on the elliptical. Obviously, he is older now and he rides his bike or he runs/walks with me now. I completed a half-marathon last January and so I trained for that for a few months. He had…

I started out with just walking. I did buy an elliptical and I am glad I made that investment. I have had it since 2008 and it's still getting used! But, if you don't have that; just walk outside. I was almost 300lbs when I started walking and lost my first 80lbs just by walking on the elliptical and outside. When I was…

P90X was a killer workout at first, it just gets easier the longer you do it!
-
Active when I can. Work gets in the way. But I have to force myself to make time.

For the most part... It's a constant battle!!!
-
Toning... Doing workouts helps. I do have tummy skin
-
I eliminated diet soda simply because it isn't good for you. Yes it's zero calories and I still enjoy one occasionally. And the difference between dieting and a lifestyle change- you diet to lose the weight... Not to maintain that way of life.

Hey, while losing weight MFP did suggest 1200 a day because of how I set up my goals and activity. I had it set to lose 2lbs a week with no activity. Also, like I mentioned before I did not eat my workout calories. I think that's why I lost so much so quickly.

The accountability is key!!! That seems to be like the only thing that kept me going. Make someone hold you accountable. Someone you have to report your weight loss or gain to every week!
-
Of course I do. My arms have a little and my stomach has a good bit. Been debating on having the skin removed on my stomach only. It's still better than being a size 24....

The biggest thing for me is to not have to food around. I might still have a ton of cravings but if I don't have it I cannot eat it. I also do a lot of food planning. That way I know what I am eating and when I get to eat next. No more fillers between meals when I know what I'm eating next. The most important thing is to…

Yes, my husband also lost a good bit of weight! Been trying to get us all together for an updated healthy family photo!

One day I just got sick of being fat and I knew I had to do it for my son! MyFitnessPal was huge for me! The support I got from all the strangers out there was great. I knew if I did something wrong that someone would see that and it kept me going. I loved being able to read success stories and eventually being able to…

I lost the weight over about 2-3 years. But I took about a year break near the end. Lost the first 80 in less than 6 months. It just fell off. That probably made it easier to lose. The exercise made the weight come off almost twice as fast. Tracking and no cheating is what really works.

Thanks! And to answer your question, I have never lifted weights. I think that the P90X that I do, and the yard work and mountain biking has caused the definition in my arms. I try to focus on the all over heatlhy core and body and the toning just came with it. :)

I kinda did the paleo thing for a while but found that I was craving good healthy food... I don't want to feel like I am "stuck" to eating certain things... works so some, but not others... :)

For those still asking here is my typical day of food and activity: Breakfast: Egg White Omelett with Turkey Sausage Crumbles or Sliced Chicken Saugsage, Peppers/Onions, Spinach and Cheese 2-4 cups of coffee each with 1 tbsp half&half and 3 splendas Snack: Apple or grapes and 1/2 cup fat free plain greek yogurt with 100g…
