I am cutting out dairy again because I finally decided to stop giving myself asthma attacks on purpose, but cheesecake is the thing I miss most. How do you use tofu in a cheesecake? Is it a 1:1 substitution? Do you have to do anything else special?

<--- Totally me.

I've read that taking glutamine can help keep sugar cravings at bay. I haven't tried it myself, but it's worth doing some research if you're struggling.

Plastic sugar. Like the kind that comes with play kitchens.

You're right, it only happens if you let it happen. But it IS easy to let it happen. As I said, if it works for you, great! But I advise you to still weigh yourself, at least once a week, and if you notice the pounds start to come back on, get a handle on your eating.

It could be the lowering of carbs. Try cutting back on them gradually instead of all at once and see if that helps. Also, your neck might be out of place. How does it feel when you turn your head to the side? Can you turn it all the way to each side without pressure? I get a LOT of migraines when my neck is just out. A…

Getting rid of all your fat pants, and then you stop logging and suddenly you need your fat pants again... I guess that's more #weightgainproblems, but it wouldn't have happened if I hadn't gotten so secure in my weight loss. HA!

Yay! Something else to keep in mind is that the "over" day might actually be the reason for your great workout. Extra calories = extra energy to burn. Which is another reason that you don't need to feel guilty for the off days. Use it to fuel your fire, both mentally and physically. :)

I did, at first. And then I slowly crept back into my old habits. My advice is to keep on keeping on, if it's working for you, but keep a careful eye on your weight. If you notice it start creeping up, start logging again.

The only thing more annoying than Daylight Saving Time is when people refer to it as Daylight Savings Time.

I'm just popping in to say YAY YOU for getting started! It's not easy to start exercising, but it's so worth it. I'll echo what some other folks are saying and encourage you to just keep at it. Start off with something light like walking, and build up from there. It DOES get easier, I promise.

Side note: I do like coconut oil for a moisturizer though. I whipped some of it with a little sweet orange oil. It's awesome. Makes my skin feel fantabulous.

BAHAHAHAHA oh gross. I can't even imagine. Plus, going 20 minutes without talking is not possible for me. Not because I like to talk, but because I have two kids who like to talk TO ME and insist on a response, even when they're just saying something like, "Mom, I'm going to go poop." Um... ok?
-
I LOVE that song.
-
Really? Blech. I mean, I like it IN stuff. But not to just swish in my mouth.

Yes, I know. But if someone's doctor says, "hey, try this to get healthy," people really shouldn't go saying, "Oh, you don't need to do that!" Doctor > internet strangers.
-
I can see it being good for your oral health, because coconut oil is antibacterial. As for the other things, eh, I dunno. I figure if nothing else, it couldn't be harmful, so if somebody wants to do it, then yay. Personally, I can't even stomach the thought of it. Oil in my mouth for 20 minutes sounds absolutely disgusting.

Ketosis makes you smell weird? I did not know that. Interesting. I wonder why?

It's just food. It's not a moral deficiency. There's nothing to feel "guilty" about. Guilt is not a productive emotion. If you go over, or eat unhealthy foods, that just happened. Did you enjoy it? Good! Now you don't have to eat unhealthily for a while, because you got it out of your system. If you didn't enjoy it, learn…

If her doctor said she needs to, then yes, she needs to. And yes, you COULD make it without sugar or grains. People do it all the time. You would just prefer not to. Also, to the person who said "don't call it a diet," you know that "diet" just means the way you eat, right? So right now, my diet consists of a lot of…

See, that's an entirely different thing though. You're not making something different because she won't eat it, you're making it because she CAN'T eat it.
-
You "only" lost almost 2 pounds in a week. This is not a problem. This is a normal, healthy rate of loss.
-
www.nerdfitness.com Lots of ideas on there.

The only time I make something different for my kids is when I'm making something spicy, which they can't handle, or certain soups that they can't stand. Everything else, they eat what I make, or they don't eat.

Wow. They're doing a service for you. When people do a service for you, and you appreciate the job they've done, you tip them. It's like that when people pump your gas, or bring your luggage to your room in a hotel, or bring you food, or mow your lawn. You pay them the base price for "doing the job." You tip them if you…

Then don't tip your hairdresser, and don't go to a salon where you have to pay more than you think it's worth. It's personal preference. Me? I tip when I go. The salon I go to has the stylists "rent" their chairs, which cuts into what they earn. I have no problem tipping so they can take home a little more money.

When I get it done at the local place, it's around $20. But lately I just do it myself. I'm growing it out, so I just keep the split ends cut out and keep it thinned so it doesn't get poofy.

But on the other hand, at least I don't have to go to work, so...
