  • Eat more to weigh less doesn't work for everyone. I tried it for 8 weeks recently - eating 1650 (supposedly my body needs 2100 daily by the calculations) instead of 1250. Result? Gained about 2.5kg and now I've gone back down it's horribly hard to shift any weight at all. Bodies are individual, if nothing else reading this…
  • I look at my best when I'm a UK 14, a UK 12 at a push (that's a US 12 or 10). I'm a tall, hip-py and busty hourglass shape and that's just what looks right with me. At my absolute thinnest as a teenager, not eating, I was a UK 10-12 (8-10US) and there is no way I could be less than that without being in serious danger. You…
  • I could use a little support at this point..I know it's early! But since starting EMTWL - 3 weeks ago - I've not seen any progress, but I gained about 1.5lb and my scale weight seems to fluctuate by 2-4lb randomly through the week. Is this normal and to be expected at this stage? Thanks!
  • Not 100% sure if it's right or wrong but one thing I am glad to get back without guilt is being able to enjoy a nice tall glass of 100% fruit juice without guilt! Yum!
  • I figure I may as well introduce myself as a nervous newbie! I'm Sarah and I just joined this group yesterday after reading about the concept of eating more to weigh less a few days ago, and thinking it over since then. I had used the Fat2Fit calculator to work out my TDEE as 2030 calories, but for the longest time I've…
  • Am I understanding it right that you're saying that sporadic exercisers shouldn't go with sedentary TDEE, but instead purely with BMR + eat back exercise calories? :S There's a pretty big difference between the two figures.
  • Can anyone recommend some good, healthy ways to increase calories? Having loads of trouble getting anywhere without eating junk food! I admit I am a small eater with a poor appetite but I'm aiming to up my calories to 1700 per day after having been on 900-1300 for a long while. Any suggestions?
  • Just a quick question here...I admit I'm one of the very low calorie eaters. I'm terrified to increase because I seem to gain weight so extremely easily, and I also don't have a huge appetite anyway, so I find it difficult to eat so much. But more than that, I have a disability which makes strenuous workouts difficult.…
  • Sorry, my profile states female. :) I don't have a monthly cycle at the moment due to being on the depo provera injection, which stopped my periods entirely. I think my body might go through the changes sometime but there's no real evidence of it to me! So I guess it's likely water retention possibly due to the…
  • If it makes you feel any better I'm also terrible with eating veggies. The most common diet veg, I just don't like, e.g. lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, bell peppers, onions, courgette. Salad is totally undoable for me!
