not everybody has a good metabolism - most people can get away with eating whatever...not me...with hypothyroid, hyperinsulism, and insulin sensitivity I struggle daily. A portion of pasta puts me out cold...seriously- there is no way I can help falling asleep. I eat small amounts of slow carbs and feel much better!…

Yes I did - and I searched for the group - I did, in fact raise my calories a bit, and I started taking magnesium. I am now loosing weight again and feeling much better! thank you

thank you for sharing your story. I'm hypo and currently on an average of 240 synthroid. yeah I know. I try hard to loose weight, but seem to loose only water and muscle, we are predisposed to try to keep our fat. I believe that I may have Hashi's mainly because of my large dose of medication. I have had blood work done,…

I just restarted looking into my fitness. I started with a carb deplete to make me less hungry, then got into carb cycling which has worked well for me in the past. The IF calculator looks like a good tool and is similar to what I do - thanks for the link!

I'm a nurse - this site is great - I have recommended it to my diabetics for the food look up alone!

140 but I really just want to get below the overweight (and obese) bmi - which would put my goal at 167. But really all you can do is to work on it bit by bit 5-10 pounds at a time and see how you feel and look as you loose weight. Good luck!

I don't know this medication and could not find it in my drug book...hopefully it will not affect your weight loss. There are a lot of antithyroid meds though...I would just make sure the your dr knows of your concern. Good luck with your treatment. I'm sure you start to feel better soon!

Good luck! Let us know how it goes! I've been gaining and loosing the same 2-3 pounds for the last 3 weeks and I'm running out of ideas. Trying to figure out what my BMR is with the hypothyroid...am I eating too much? too little? the right things? is it menopause? I am terribly confused and know that my metabolism is to…

gotta bump this. Has your Dr considered Wolf Parkinson White? My son at 17 had a cardiac ablation done that repaired this condition. He would bump up to 150 for his HR, but it wasn't constant. There are also other forms of Supraventricular tachycardia that it might be. Very difficult to diagnose...you would really have to…

there's an app for that... ...literally http://www.itproportal.com/2012/01/06/iphone-gym-app-pays-real-money-keeping-work-out-schedule/ [/quote] nice idea!

Yeah - plantar fasciitis is a pain to endure. I lost my job and was able to get off my feet, but now I'm trying to do some cardio and they really hurt. This is what I do - freeze a water bottle, twice a day put the arch of your feet on the bottle to bring down the inflammation. This is what the podiatrist recommend, also…

Nobody is too fat to exercise. I too go to Planet fitness because it is cheap, but it is not really set up for free weights. They do not have bars available to do lungs, there's not enough room. It is a great place to do some cardio, and they do have some dumbbells that can be used. I find it's too much like a fish bowl -…

Wow! LOOK at your numbers - you are an inspiration! I'm sure that you worked hard for every pound. And only 75 mcg - I can't even remember when I took so little. Right now I average 240 mcg/day of levothyroxine!

Hey all - I just turned 52 and have been getter heavier and heavier since I stopped doing Atkins many years ago. I have a long way to go and want to loose fat in a way that is healthy and sustainable. I eat clean, I don't drink, I try to get to the gym. I lost 6 lbs the first week, then went up, and now - not much…

Best of luck to you - I would think that if the MRI showed something that needed to be taken care of that they would have been pulled into a hospital. So think positive!

ketones are just the product that is left over from fat metabolism. The raspberry ketones are supposed to speed up your metabolism - make it hotter - I believe, not throw you into ketosis.
-
bump - I was thinking of trying this supplement in a "what could it hurt" kind of way - anyone have experience with it?
-
bumpity - yummy this sounds great!
-
Thank you - this is definitely a journey!

Yes Yes Yes - I'm having trouble eating my BMR - I am eating so clean that I am really FULL. I don't eat fruit because of hyperinsulism so I don't know where to add more calories! NOT going to start eating cookies again...that's how I got into trouble. Maybe a cheat day would bring my average calories up/

I've had hypothyroid for over 20 years and struggle greatly to loose weight - so easy to gain - so hard to loose!. You can add me if you want a buddy. I have a lot to loose and just started MFP recently. I'm trying to eat low glycemic foods and get out to the gym. and of course to log everything I eat! If you search on…

cook your boneless chicken with salsa thrown in at the end - maybe a little mexican cheese melted on it. simple and delicious!
-
Sizzling rice soup? oh ymmy! and of course watch the sauces if you're watching your sugar! Cashew chicken with brocolli?
-
Slow and steady sounds good - I think I set my goal weight of 190 from my start of 209 too low. 2lbs a week may be more than I can do Currently going up and down around 203 - hoping to get to ONEderland! before memorial day! Positive thoughts only - not going up is wonderful too!

I am sure that I have some problems with insulin. Sometimes even a smalll meal seems to kick up my insulin levels and I literally cannot stay awake. When I wake I am usually hungry. I'm not sure if this is insulin resistance or just high levels of insulin. What is this medication/supplement you were put on ? meteorin? And…
