  • Thanks for the input everyone! I hope to get a HRM soon, I have been shopping around, just need the money (lol). I have just been logging as the walk and assume I am burning at least that many calories! Thanks again.
  • Thanks for the encouragement! I did Day 5 today...I am doing much better on the soreness, but my muscles felt a little weak, I fought through it though. I know I am getting stronger and that makes it all worth it!
  • I am in Utah...close, but not quite Colorado. Feel free to friend me if you don't mind just a mountain range separation!
  • I did WW on and off for a number of years, very limited success. I just switched over to MFP a couple of weeks ago, and so far I am loving it! It did take a little getting used to logging everything and not having a "weekly allowance", but I have found by being true to the log has made me feel more like I am in control.…
  • I agree with the "moderation" tactic. That being said, I have heard that some of the chemicals in Diet Soda can make you crave sweets and food in general...as I recall it is something with Nutrasweet. Personally, I have been known to drink Diet Mountain Dew and Diet Dr Pepper about one a day...however, since I have been…
  • I don't know if this is sound advice or not, but what if you ate the calories earned in your workout the next day? If you don't get a workout in then the next day you don't eat the extra. Look at it over a weekly average, not a 24 hour period of time, and it will all balance out. Good luck!
  • L1 D4 done!! Definitely not as sore today and....wait for it...I did a push-up!! Me! Granted, it was still a granny style, but I did it without my body hitting the floor! I was only able to do 2 of them "correctly" but that was two more than I did yesterday!! I am also proud of myself for getting this in today since I left…
  • All excellent suggestions! I knew I could count on you all!! I hadn't thought about adding some nuts...they always seemed so taboo, but in moderation and for the right reasons I can see the wisdom in having some on a salad or a quick snack. Thanks!!
  • I'm such an idiot sometimes...I clicked on this thread because I have a son named Tanner and wanted to see what you would need his opinion on. I am totally ROFL at myself!
  • OK, Day 3 Level 1 complete!! I had a harder time getting through it again today...I think it is because I am sore, but I hope it gets better soon!
  • I was up 1.2 lbs...I am hoping it is because I stepped up my running to get ready for a 5K this weekend, and I started 30 Day Shred and it is kicking my butt. My body will adjust and it will start coming off...I hope! start weight: 203 4/27 - 204.2 5/4 - 5/11 - 5/18 - 5/25 - 6/1 - 6/8 - 6/15 - 6/22 - goal weight: 188
  • Day 2 complete! I was a little sore today so some of the moves seemed harder, but I did it!! Bring on day 3 (but it can wait until tomorrow)!
  • I just survived Day 1! I used 3 pound weights, and glad I didn't go heavier. I can tell that I have been running because the leg exercises were not nearly as tough as the arms. I am feeling pretty good about it, I did better than I feared. Reading others' posts about 30DS I was really nervous! I can tell I will be sore…
  • I am feeling the error of my ways tonight. Alas! Well, tomorrow is a new day...I am not looking forward to the gym though. I always really struggle in my workout after overdoing the food. Stupid bunny!
  • I think my first week was a lot like yours, the light switch and all. I would say that if you are doing more exercise and healthy eating but not sore or hungry, then you are doing exactly what you need to. So many people do too much too fast and give up because they are too sore or too hungry and they can't deal with it.…
  • The Easter Bunny just brought me the DVD today (along with 2000+ calories of candy...stupid bunny!). I haven't ever done it but I am up for trying it!
  • Stay under calories Exercise 5 times this week Drink at least 8 cups of water Try a new vegetable Forgive myself for the Easter candy ;-).
  • I am totally in! Wed. is my regular weigh in day so it is perfect!! My name is Charice and I am 41 and I live in a painfully small town in central Utah. I have 4 great kids (ages 21, 18, 11, 9). I have had a yo-yo existence with my weight for years and something clicked in me last December to make a lifestyle change.…
  • Count me in!! The kids and I are doing a countdown so this will just be another way to count...and maybe get my kids involved in the weight loss journey! Thanks for the idea.
  • I am not in a "group"...I have been doing it on my own since December, but I am in my first "real" week with MFP. I would be happy to start a group with you...and anyone else we can enlist!
  • Thanks everyone! I feel so welcome :-)
