Why do you even engage? Just walk away from it, or say that you're not discussing what you do or do not eat. If they ask politely, explain what you do eat, and suggest some reading material if they're interested in it further, then leave them to it.

I use DevaCurl hair care products (curly, thin hair, that's dyed with Naturetint color-- my hairdresser would kill me if I used henna again) and Alterna Bamboo oil, with argan oil on my ends. I was using For Pit's Sake deodorant, but I needed more of the antiperspirant for work, so I'm back to Tom's of Maine, which has…

The bags of freeze dried fruit are amazing (at Trader Joe's). Totally delicious.

I don't recall any of my Indian food cookbooks requiring grains in any of their curries, and there are plenty of dishes without lentils or legumes. Focus on the business at hand, eat something ahead of time, and do the best you can.

Realistically, I don't usually eat breakfast, and if I do, it's once I get to the office. I also hate leftovers, so this is what my husband has had and doesn't hate (he's Paleo, but I have a lot of cooking fails). I make a smoothie using Now Egg White protein powder (the plain egg white version), frozen berries, almond…

Ugh! No raw meat for me :) My big issue is time. I don't have a lot to spare, and currently, I have a lot of work and home projects that are taking priority (they need to). I think I'm going to try lots of salads and smoothies-- I have egg white protein powder that's purely egg whites (that's the only ingredient), so that…

That is awesome. We're raising rabbits (Flemish Giants) and are looking forward to those. We've got Maude and The Dude (from The Big Lebowski) for mom and dad.

How about just not talk to them about it and ignore them? I don't bother explaining what I'm doing or why, I just pick out what I can/want to eat when I'm visiting, and ignore them the rest of the time.

The coconut bread is more tolerable than the almond, and it's super filling. Honestly, it's what works for you. Cooking didn't happen last week and is unlikely to happen most of this week, so processed paleo is what I'm going with (there's an ish on the end of paleo, as I subscribe to the 80/20 rule of thumb). And yes, I…

It definitely has saved us money (and time-- no shopping for sales, just defrost what's needed). We still have a ton left from our 1/4 cow (we split 1 cow 4 ways) and all told, everything was about $5/lb. That obviously sounds better for steaks than ground beef, but compared to Whole Foods prices... yeah, we saved money :)

Tracking keeps me accountable to myself... it's a personal decision though. I've lived both ways and I just prefer tracking. Keeps me sane. Plus I like data :)

How long have you eaten Paleo? 9 months What's your favorite Paleo Approved Meal? Crockpot roasted chicken and roasted brussel sprouts (which can be a meal on their own when I'm lazy) What's your favorite Paleo Approved Snack? Pumpkin seeds (at the moment) or kale chips What's the biggest/best change you have seen in…

The Paleo Kits and Krunch Bars are a godsend for snowboarding. No concerns about leaving them in the car, and they're more nutritious (and cheaper) than buying lunch at the lodge.

They do have a gluten free/grain free matzah that is pretty good. I used it for matzah brie this weekend (not practicing, but I like my matzah brie... ). http://www.amazon.com/Yehuda-Matzo-Squares-Gluten-10-5000-ounces/dp/B004DBVJRA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1364613848&sr=8-1&keywords=yehuda+gluten+free+matzo

Tonight it's Buca di Beppo (Italian). Otherwise known as I'm getting garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli and Italian sausage. Work event. At least we get to order semi-individually (I'm getting a salad... but sharing it with others. Haven't told them I asked for no croutons yet.). At least I get bacon and eggs for lunch!

Ditto on the vitamin D. I live in the Pacific NW and also take 10,000 IU (and that's naturopath recommended, actually). I also take Omega 3 and a multi, with B. That said, talk to a psychiatrist for the paranoia-- I've been there, and it's miserable. My anxiety is out of control, and quite frankly, will never be controlled…

I'm using Emeals, which just covers dinner only. I've made a few of the meals so far, and it's been good for at least getting food into the house and even if I don't make the exact meal, creating some variation. This week, I made a gigantic batch of chili and/or skipping dinner. Lunch is largely whatever looks edible at…

We have people over fairly regularly and usually go with a roasted whole chicken or salmon filet with potlatch seasoning. For sides, it's some sort of a salad and mashed or baked sweet potatoes (sometimes squash for those more adventurous ones... sigh). No one has ever mentioned missing bread. For dessert, if it's really…

Don't know if this helps, but my cookbooks have proven *much* better than websites: Paleo Comfort Foods, Everyday Paleo and Paleo Slow Cooking (thank you Costco). Also, a lot of my own recipes are easily made Paleo (bean less chili is tonight's plan) and I just remove the noodles from my chicken bok choy soup. Baked fish…

Yeah, I just feel like I have to explain myself, not to mention remind people that perfection isn't worth it if it takes away things that are actually really important to you (cornbread sausage apple dressing was the first recipe I really perfected on my own). I actually called Neese's Sausage about shipping some of their…

Same. And when I turned 30 in August, my thyroid once again decided that it wasn't interested in working, so I'm now on increased dosages. Keep taking your meds (if you're on them) and keep eating better. It might not improve everything (so exhausted I can't see straight at the moment, despite 7-8 hours of sleep), but it…

I just emailed Neese's sausage to see if they'll ship me some extra sage sausage. All I care about is my cornbread sausage dressing. That's a cheat worth making for me. In all likelihood, there will be: Deep fried turkey (yuck) Green beans sautéed with bacon (tolerable) Pumpkin pie (a Paleo version, probably from Paleo…

My husband has a hard time digesting beef and pork and fat and crucifers, and pretty much everything. We eat lots of chicken (he does, I move it around on my plate, since I think it's gross) and fish and he gets fats in liquid form (smoothies, etc) because they're easier to digest. Stew beef (when cooked to a fall apart…

It's not that it takes so long, it's that I am so overwhelmed with my other responsibilities that it feels like the straw breaking my back. Until someone can give me another 6 hours a day (or another day entirely), I don't think that's going to end. Luckily, I live in an era and place where I can arrange for food to be…

Home grocery delivery by Amazon :) Saves me when I work stupid hours, but I think it's only available in and around Seattle at the moment. I know Safeway also does delivery, and I think Harris Teeter did when I lived in NC. Cheaper than a personal assistant and MUCH cheaper than sending my husband to the grocery store. I…

Sounds crazy, but it's my favorite way to "roast" a whole chicken. And I hate chicken (seriously). It stays moist and gets good flavor. The recipe in the Everyday Paleo book has a rub mix (though I've used a pre-made one that I like too) and then you just set the chicken, breast down, on top of onions.
-
So far, so good :) We had pecan crusted chicken last night (good, but it needed some sort of a sauce...) and will have lime fish tacos tonight, post workout. So far, having meals thought out means that I order food (yay Amazon Fresh) and even if I don't cook anything similar to what's on the menu, at least there's food in…

Don't stress, just try to get more sleep :) Let it play out for a month or so and see where you are.

Punishing a kid about food just seems like a great way to help setup an eating disorder (or at least some seriously disordered eating). I would just explain to him that any bad behaviors that increase from what he's eating will result in consequences and have them be the same consequences that would exist normally. Might…
