I took to the Paleo diet after being told that with Hashimoto's I should avoid all grain products (dairy was the first blow). So far, it's been fine and my IBS seems better. Realistically, it's a don't eat crap diet, and more importantly, don't eat crap that's bad for you. It's actually relatively easy for me to handle…

I use an egg white protein powder that I made myself from truenutrition.com (egg white, whole eggs, MCT oil, vanilla, stevia- next time no sweeteners/flavors, per fiancé). It's mainly as added liquid calories for my fiancé, but it also ensures that I have *something* post-workout, which is difficult when my schedule goes…

They make me worse-- it's really to each his own. Might try an elimination diet for a little while though.

In that case, what about doing something different? Like going for a nice evening walk, throwing around a dog toy, etc?

The fact that it is impossible to stress out about anything other than the physical placement of your body parts while sweating heavily and trying to contort your body into positions it normally doesn't go.

I take recovery days as I need them, but I don't force myself to be inactive. In fact, my last one, I mowed the lawn. Do what feels right to you. This week has sucked for me working out because I'm not feeling so hot and I'm slammed at work and home. Hence, more days off. Next week, assuming this crud ever leaves my…

Past week or so has been bad, but I'm just hanging out at the same weight. Still tracking, just too focused on work stuff to deal with food (not to mention a sick household).

Useful if it's a one time before a special event thing. Not permanent though.

Whole Foods has some dried fruits without any added sugar. They're the only place that sells plain dried cranberries.

Weights! I also use tons of lotion too, to help with my skin elasticity. Mederma has helped improve my stretch marks and Nivea Goodbye Cellulite is also helpful. It's not perfect, but better (and hey, that's all I wanted!).

Check out fastpaleo.com They had a couple of tasty looking treats posted today :)

Forget Shakeology. What helped me most was an elimination diet. If you want a plan, Dr. Junger's got a very sensible one, and you can probably download the guide from their site (just tells you what not to eat). I'm now effectively Paleo (going to see if cutting out legumes helps improve things, doctor already has me…

If you have health insurance, call the nurse line and ask them for assistance (and a reference). If not, contact Planned Parenthood or another women's health organization and they can put you in contact with a doctor's office to assist you. You might have to drive, but to get an opinion it's worth it.

I'm reasonably sure that my misery of the past couple days is due to the plague that's been spreading around the office. I've never had a reaction to cutting out carbs though, just caffeine (and I wouldn't wish that headache on anyone!). Oh and with fruit/veg, I'm netting around 80-100 carbs a day. Might cut that back…

LOL well that's good! We're just buying a few different cakes from Whole Foods (< 1/2 the price) and have tested via the individual serving sizes that they also sell. I also might make us a special cake since we're on a special diet though.

Apparently they have salads at Jimmy John's, and while not filling, they are food (haven't had them, friends have). Jamba Juice is my go to, for all fruit smoothies, when I'm on the run and not near anywhere else. Other smoothie shops may have almond milk, but I haven't found any around here yet. SBUX also has fruit…

I eat gigantic slabs of salmon :) And I use guacamole for my carrots and other dippable veggies. I send the fiancé with apples and nut butters, and pumpkin almond flour pancakes. You can also increase the fats that you're using.

Yeah... there's a reason that I'm trying to stick to a Paleo diet right now. My body just doesn't like this whole food thing.

1. You are inching towards an HR violation (or at least a personal boundaries violation). 2. If you want to do something, invite her for lunch or coffee somewhere where there are more healthy options. JUST DON'T MENTION THAT'S THE REASON YOU'RE DOING IT. 3. She probably knows she's eating like crap and that it's making her…

Egg white since dairy is not my friend. Fiancé likes Jay Robb brand the best.

Lots of veggies and meat, some fruit. It's not too bad, though the past couple of days have been off for me and I need to get it back together. I did continue with a soy based supplement, per my naturopath, so I was never perfect anyway :)

My hypnosis CDs helped to calm me down-- I lost some weight, but what it really did was focus me on de-stressing, which is my trigger. I would pick up a CD before signing up for a program though. And realistically, it's probably something in your lab results :( Sorry! My thyroid hates me, so if it's that, I feel your pain.

LOL I think all mayo is a crime against nature personally. Homemade was even worse than store-bought.

Feel free to add me :)

I am eating Paleo right now-- my doctor advised me to avoid all grains, and honestly, I don't really want "fake" bread products. I have found that by not substituting gluten containing foods for those without, that I don't feel like I'm missing it. I hope that bit of advice helps :)

I try to log in advance so that I can plan. Helps me with remembering what food to take to work in the AM.

Wow-- when I was talking to my coworker about eliminating dairy and grains, she specifically mentioned all the nuts and meatloaf she was making.

I'm lazy so I'm making meatballs today for lunches this week-- meat is a good source of calories. So are nuts and oils. Maybe add more oils in?
