  • The Fried Green Tomatoes scene is unbearable.
  • - The montage from Up of their life together. I had fertility problems before conceiving both of my children. They way they convey infertility without even words is amazing. I'm tearing up right now just thinking about it!!! - Also, the scene in Little Miss Sunshine when Dwayne finds out that he'll never realize his dream…
  • I did the same! I was only 37 1/2 weeks with my second and since I was late with the first, I thought it couldn't be. But then labor came on really quickly for me. Water broke around 2:30 AM (at least that's when I started to suspect) and he was born at 9:45 AM. He was born less than 2 hour after we got to the hospital.
  • First baby - 3 days late. Second baby - 2 weeks, 3 days early.
  • I've been logging every day. I'm not as good as I used to be though! I lost all my pregnancy weight and then some right away... and then I gained about 15 lbs. back!!! Now I am about five lbs. more than when I got pregnant. It's been hard getting back to the gym and eating right. My baby has reflux and colic so that's been…
  • I think you could have mild PCOS in terms of the symptoms not being as severe. For example, I have reduced fertility but I have two children. The first one I had with no meds and the second I only needed Metformin. I also have a very, very small amount of facial hair and some hair thinning (also treatable with Metformin).…
  • Q1 - I was officially diagnosed in 2012 when I was 34. When I was 27 and trying to get pregnant, I was told that my #s were approaching PCOS but were not enough to diagnose me with it officially but to live like I had it. I had ultrasounds and blood work both times. Q2 - Carb level is going to depend on a variety of…
  • Ugh. Don't forget the laugh track. They set that thing off like every two seconds! Once I was at the gym on the treadmill and this guy was watching it with the volume turned up to 11 and even though I had headphones on, I could still hear that laugh track!!! And the whole show is set up around the same jokes week after…
  • I've done both - I had an epidural with my first and did not have one with my second. I wanted one with the second but he came too fast - they did not have time to do one! Labor with my daughter was almost 12 hours and I kept getting stuck. I would not have wanted to do that one without an epidural. With my son, the…
  • It is really good in a Cobb type salad - whatever salad stuff you want to use. I usually do romaine, cherry tomatoes, bacon, hard boiled eggs, and avocado with blue cheese but that can be adjusted however you want.
  • Not sure but I don't think there's actually extra eggs hanging out. The egg goes into "ready position" in the ovary but then doesn't bust out of the ovary - the cysts are actually the eggs still hanging out in "ready position" so they are not available for future ovulation.
  • I'm glad you're not having too many issues with the Metformin. One thing to add on about working with your PCOS, not against it - I read an article recently about how some diseases we think of as terrible actually have hidden advantages to them and I think of PCOS that way as well. Granted, 95% of it is crap and when I'm…
  • My doctor always said my blood results were pretty borderline so to err on the side of caution and consider myself to have it. I take Metformin and it has helped to regulate my cycles (went from no periods in seven months to getting on every four or five weeks and my hair loss slowed down to a normal rate). Since the…
  • ^^ That's a really awesome book! I read it cover to cover in like two days when I was pregnant.
  • I went seven months without AF but it only restarted with metformin. I think without metformin I would have had it very rarely, if at all.
  • Okay, first of all, you are right, five lbs. is not really a big deal. Your weight can fluctuate up and down five lbs. just over the course of a day! Also, I had GD and if you had it, you'd know by now. Were you tested? It's not something they keep testing for. Third, when I had GD I got the whole "giant baby" nonsense,…
  • I am conscious of my carbs but I don't restrict them. I found that when I did, I was too exhausted to lift weights and do cardio.
  • So here's a weird thing - I started to have some signals of ovulation right around the time the bleeding stopped. I Googled it and apparently light bleeding can be a sign of ovulation so I'm thinking maybe it was that. It never got heavy like a period. Yeah I never used OPK because I know their results are not always the…
  • 2 immediate thoughts - 1 - Has anything changed with your fitness routine since you started? Sometimes when you work out especially hard, you can get some extra weight. Some people will say this is adding muscle - it's actually usually fluid being retained in the muscles while they repair themselves. 2 - Is it possibly…
  • Have you been able to test whether you are ovulating or not? I'd be curious - 21 days is the low end of normal for a cycle, just like 35 days is the high end. One of the things I read in my research is that short cycles are more likely to be non-ovulatory so just something to look into. This is just odd for me because my…
  • I don't have any experience with VBAC as I had both my children vaginally but I did want to comment on the size thing. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes with my second pregnancy. At all the ultrasounds I had before the diagnosis they were saying his size was fine, pretty much right on target. Then I had a growth…
  • With my first, it took a year. I was 28 at the time. With my second, it took a year and a half. I had just turned 35 when I got pregnant. With the first, I was having my cycle about every 6-8 weeks. With the second, I sought treatment pretty much right away and until my medication (Metformin) was straightened out, I went…
  • Same here - our daughter is Miriana (Meer-ee-ah-na), Miri for short and everyone ALWAYS says Mary. I hadn't really considered it too much beforehand but now we get it all the time.
  • It is normal to have a lot of BH contractions, to the point that I know lots of women who thought they were in labor and went to the hospital and they weren't actually in labor. The real signs would be that the baby in engaged and that your cervix is effacing but even when these start to occur it can still be weeks with a…
  • I have it and I have two children, both conceived naturally. You are starting young so time is on your side. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 34 so I lost a lot of time in there. Fertility problems are only one of the symptoms of PCOS - some symptoms you will have more severely than others. Some you won't have at all. So…
  • I have been off birth control twice in my adult life, both times to get pregnant. The first time, I was 28. My symptoms were not that bad then. In fact, I had only a "borderline" case of PCOS and could not technically get diagnosed with it. It took me a year but I got pregnant without meds or any fertility treatments.…
  • During my wedding planning, one of my bridesmaids dropped out. I was very upset because she was a close friend and the whole situation tore us apart. Anyway, I had just reconnected with my second cousin, who had been a very close friend of mine growing up. I asked her to be in the wedding and she said yes. She was matched…
  • The bcp helped with my symptoms, however it was also giving me TERRIBLE migraines. I didn't realize that until I went off of it to get pregnant. However, I believe that there is also another advantage to the pill well two really. Your body is not trying to ovulate so you do not get the cysts. The cysts cause scar tissue to…
  • The pill actually prevented hair loss for me. Side effects are a tough call because they basically list them if people have experienced them while on the medication - they are not necessarily caused by the medication. But yeah, my experience was that it definitely helped with hair loss. Metformin did as well.
  • You ladies might be on to something. I had a child two months ago so my eating and exercising are kind of crazy right now. But I find that if I let myself eat whatever I want for a day, I have a really hard time getting my act together the next day, and the next, and the next.
