fun question - just out of curiosity
Did you eat when you were in labor? Today we were at IHOP and I swear the woman at the table next to us was in labor. She was obviously in pain and doing her breathing exercises but eating steak and eggs and chugging ice water. With my daughter, I tried to drink a sip or two of water and threw it right up. This was in very…

issues with returning to work - off topic
Sorry this is so long - I just need to get this off my chest! I've been working for my boss for the last six years. We've always gotten along pretty well. When I started I had my daughter already and wasn't planning to have another baby. My boss always said (jokingly, I hope) that none of us was "allowed" to have any more…

short cycles?
My problem has always been long cycles - before I started Metformin I did not have a period for seven months. On Metformin they were about five weeks apart. I had a baby on 1/15 and then got my first postpartum period on 3/19. I seem to have started another one today, even though that would only be a sixteen (!!!) day…

help with gifts?
My husband's birthday is in two weeks and there's Valentines Day as well. He loves Lord of the Rings, Batman, X Men, Legend of Zelda, Star Wars, and Star Trek. He just won an X Box One at work - we also have a Wii and I think several Playstations, and a Game Cube. I'm wondering if any of you have received anything cool or…

Sherlock - The Empty Hearse
Okay I'm American so I finally got to watch The Empty Hearse on PBS last night. What did all you Sherlock fans think? I love the new character of Mary. I've seen lots of Sherlock Holmes stuff and Mary is usually pretty boring - I love this one though. Favorite moment was getting to see Benedict Cumberbatch's parents…

Another birth announcement
Gabriel James January 15, 2014 7 lbs 6 oz 21 inches long My water broke around 3am but I wasn't positive that's what it was. I Started having irregular contractions around a half an hour later. They were so irregular and I wasn't sure I was in labor so I probably waited longer than I should have but it was the middle of…

36 1/2 weeks, engaged and 2 cm dilated
I had my 36 week appointment today - first internal. Doctor casually tells me that the baby's head is engaged and I'm 2 cm dilated. I feel like I dilated for a long time with my daughter but wasn't this far along at this point. I can actually see that my stomach is smaller now up top (near my ribs) and he said that's…

relationship with partner?
I'm 34 weeks and I feel like the last two months or so, my husband and I have been fighting way more than we ever did. We've been together since we were teenagers and are now in our mid-thirties so I have a lot of time to compare it to. Right now he is mad at me because we both wanted to go see a movie and he feels like I…

interest in a group for women who have PCOS & are pregnant?
I would start the group and run it. Just wanted to see if there were interested women out there. The group would be for not only pregnancy but postpartum as well.

pain in the neck - literally
My neck has been hurting for five days now. It's along the left side. I can't find a comfortable position to do anything, especially sleep. I've been taking Tylenol but it only helps a little! Anyone have any words of wisdom for me???

Expecting Better
I just picked up this book - Expecting Better by Emily Oster. She looks at all of the "rules" we are given as pregnant women - no lunch meat, no alcohol, whether to get induced, etc. and looks at the studies and statistics to help you make a decision that works for you. So far, it's been really good.

pregnant!
Just found out yesterday morning - keep your fingers and toes crossed for me - it's very early yet.

corpus luteum cyst?
Anyone have one? I am pretty sure I do. I have very mild pain/tenderness on the right side, right at my hip. It does not hurt much at all but enough to be concerning. I called the doctor and they said take tylenol, which I did. I haven't had my first ultrasound yet so I'm a little worried about an ectopic but my…

ovarian pain - normal?
Hi everyone, I am on cycle day 13. Thanks to Metformin, diet and exercise, my cycles are now regular, about 31 days long (so I should be ovulating in four days or so). All day today, I have had pain where I imagine my right ovary is. Not terrible pain at all - very minor. But if I press on it, it hurts or if I accidentally…

anyone else have this happen?
My husband and I have been TTC since December 2011. I wasn't ovulating at all on my own but my cycles have been regulated with Metformin since July 2012. Since that time they have ranged from 4-8 weeks but lately have been between 4 and 5 weeks so in the normal range. I don't do OPK or anything but I can always tell when I…

an interesting experiment
I've been doing SL for about five weeks. Before that I mostly did Zumba. For one of my classes, we would use weights for a few songs. I always used the biggest dumb bells they had - about five lbs. Sometimes it was a struggle if a song was long or something. So last night my daughter and I were at Target and they had a…

Did my first 5X5 last night!
Hi ladies, On Tuesday (1/7) a male friend pointed me toward Stronglifts. Clicking through the PDF made me hyperventilate - all those pics of dudes with huge muscles. I complained about it on my newsfeed and a female friend pointed me toward this group - I'm so glad! I did my first 5X5 (workout A) last night. I was so…

Anyone want a free letter sweatshirt?
I'm trying to go through some of my old things and I have a vintage (late 90s) gray sweatshirt with green and blue plaid letters on it. I will ship to whomever would like it. Just let me know! Oh, it's an XL but personally I think it's kind of a small XL.

acne?
Since I went off the pill about a year ago, I have terrible acne. not a lot of it but maybe like one zit at a time - except they are very painful and very noticeable (very red). I mostly get them along my jawline, hairline, and lately, my upper lip. I can't take any of the hardcore prescription stuff because I am hoping to…

thinking about giving up on BBT
Hi everyone, I have been doing BBT for the last 48 days now. I am feeling really frustrated. For the last week, I have been having cramps, tender breasts, some EWCM here and there. But my temps do not indicate that I have ovulated. Okay, fine. But I just feel like taking and tracking the temps is stressing me out. So I'm…

boobs!
Does anyone else get random breast tenderness. My boobs have been so sore the past five days, I seriously thought I was pregnant. (I've been pregnant before and this was the first sign). But took a test, and guess what - BFN! So I'm trying to figure out what this could be from. I also have slight cramping. I thought I…

caffeine?
Anyone had any success with cutting out caffeine? Looking around the web, I've seen mixed research for healthy people but for PCOS, I've seen mainly that it will help to cut it. I hate to do it because I love coffee but I'm going to give it a shot to see how it goes.

spotting?
First, a little background: I have been on the pill for all of my adult life except for a year before I conceived my daughter and now since December. It took us a year to conceive my daughter. My cycles have always been long - during that year they were about six to eight weeks. Since December, I had one month long cycle…

vent
I have three friends/co-workers I eat lunch with every day. One of them knows that my husband and I have been TTC since December and that I have been having major issues with my PCOS. The other two don't know anything about this. So apparently yesterday one of the two who don't know announced that he and his wife are…

sighting
So today I was driving home from work and I saw that the car in front of me had a Chi-O sticker. So I was like "huh, we had Chi-O at Gettysburg. Wonder where she went to college". So then I saw that she had another sticker - a little less noticeable, for Gettysburg College. I was so excited! (I live about three hours away…

I had a cycle!
So, I just got my first period since January. (Of course I'm on vacation and didn't bring any products with me - LOL). I didn't get pregnant this cycle - boo! - but I think it's a huge victory that I've had a cycle at all so I'm thrilled. I just had my Metformin increased from 1000 mg to 2000 mg about three weeks ago so I…

rush consultants
I saw an article today about how families are hiring "rush consultants" to coach their daughters through the rush process. I don't know about you ladies, but I think this is a little ridiculous!

my little rant for the day...
So, my husband and I have been TTC since December. I've been on Metformin since April. No TOM since January. We have a five-year-old daughter. I have a friend who has a three year old son - she conceived him within three months of starting TTC. She knows that we are TTC and the other day she came over to me and told me…
