Robin; well done on the goal for the next month. Think it will help knowing that you have a 'treat' to look forward with the Oyster Festival. Looking forward to hearing how you get on. Have stayed alcohol free since Sunday and have done well with my exercise and my calories this week so am hoping for a good weigh in in the…

Kim, you are so right. Karen keep at it girl.

Hey Christy, I love my WiiFit Plus. As a lady of 'a certain age' I find going to the gym a little intimidating and, since retiring, I seem to have less structure to my week. I enjoy having a lot more flexibility in my life and therefore try to avoid too many regular committments. I do go to a Pilates class once a week with…

Robin - glad to see you are brighter, hope that means that Keira is doing well. Karen - keep up the good work I've had a great day. Has been very sunny and warm here. Started the day with 45 mins aerobics on the Wii (third session this week). Followed this with 2.5 hours gardening - digging, weeding, planting etc. Still…

Hi folks. Pragya, so sorry to read the sad news of your uncle; know exactly what you mean about stressful days and needing a drink. Don't beat your self up, allow yourself some downtime and get back with the programme when you feel stronger. Robin, hope the news of your dog is better. Hang in there, we are all supporting…

Yvonne1, thanks for the message. Well in spite of breaking all my self imposed rules this week the scales tell me I have lost 1lb this week and the measure tells me another inch has gone from my waist! I will go back to my routine next week because I do want to shift the weight and, for me, I think cutting back on…

Hello everyone. Hope you are all OK and looking forward to a fairly relaxing weekend. Kim, I'm glad that I have been an inspiration but am not sure I will be one this week. I have been staying at my brother's house, he lives about an hour's drive from me. He was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour 10 years ago.…

Hi everyone. Well that's the weekend nearly over but, yes, I did have my Gin & Tonic Saturday and Sunday night. Did some more gardening today, planted a lovely rose and a honeysuckle and also moved 6 x 25kgs bags of pea shingle - does that count as weight lifting??     I…

There is being supportive and there is bullying; I believe your post is tantamount to bullying and is unlikely to achieve anything., let alone the help and support you purport to be giving.

Hi, I.m in; weight this morning was 182lbs

Karen, what a brilliant blog; I am sure that it will inspire and motivate many people on this site. As you so rightly say we need to recognise that a bump in the road is just that. We all need to relax the regime occasionally whether it is like me having a drink at the weekend or splurging the calorie allowance now and…

Karen - you're doing fantastically. I certainly think my skin and eyes look much better for the self imposed week night abstinence and am sure it is helping with the weight loss. Sorry to disappoint you guys but kids can still give you nightmares when they are 40+ with homes and kids of their own!!!! Still, the great thing…

Didn't manage a bozze free night after all last night but I still managed to keep to just one glass of Chardonnay. Anyway, today is another day so hope to stay off the bozze until Saturday, keep under the calorie allowance AND get on with my exercise. :drinker:

Hello fellow lushes. Calorie allowance went right out the window today as I was at my daughter, Dawn's, for a fabulous lunch. My grandson leaves home tomorrow to start a course as a trainee instructor at an outward bound centre; he will be teaching youngsters to canoe, kayak and climb high wires amongst other things.…

Hi all. Managed to lose 1lb this week. Have had my sister in law staying but have managed to stick to just one drink a night and have managed to keep reasonably well to calorie allowance although the exercise has not been so good; only managed one session of pilates, one of swimming and one 30 min walk. We also went out…

Hi all. Correct SW for this challenge was 183lbs and am now 182lbs. Don't think I'll be getting the postcard from loverly Cleveleys but who knows what the grand weigh in might bring on 7/8th Oct. Good luck all

OKI. Today was my weigh in day so am starting the October challenge at 182lbs, so hope to be 177 by end of month!!!! Good luck everyone.

Hi peeps; hope all are doing OK. Have managed to stick to just one drink a night (a glass of wine) while my sister in law is visiting. Blew the calories today as we went out for a meal; however, it was a fabulous meal and well worth over doing the calorie allowance. Will see what the damage is when I weigh in tomorrow but,…

Just found this challenge. I'm in but will post weight in the morning after my weekly weigh in. Good luck everyone

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well. Just got back from swimming -28 lengths (25m per length) breastroke in 38 minutes, so have burned off 526 calories - yeeeehahhhh

Hey, don't beat yourself up too much; deal with things one day at a time. As I have posted earlier on this blog, my husband of 34 years died last year and there are days when I just want to shut the world out and not 'cope'. I didn't have a particular drink challenge but I was conscious that it would be very easy to…

Hey - not to worry. Every new day gives you the opportunity for a fresh start; you'll get there. Karen - you're doing fantastically. Keep it up.

Hi all. It's Monday morning and a new week. Managed to keep to just one drink at dinner on Saturday and Sunday. My sister in law is staying with me this week so plan drinking diet tonic when she is having a gin and tonic and then joining her in a small glass of red wine with dinner; should be able to do this within my…

Hi everyone, you all seem to be doing great things. Today was weigh in day and I have lost 3lbs this week and 1.5ins off my waist and 1ins off my hips (in three weeks that's a total of 3.5ins from waist and 2.5ins hips); am I feeling good? YESSSSSSS!!!    Am looking forward to my gin and tonic…

Managed another two nights without alcohol; will treat myself to a drink with dinner on Saturday and Sunday. Have done loads of gardening the last two days plus WiiFit workouts and a pilates class this evening. Am feeling pooped so should sleep very well tonight. Keep up the good work fellow lushes. :drinker: :drinker:…
