I'm 5'7, 178 lbs and I net 1800 calories a day. I average it out over the week, so some days I have a little more, some days I have a little less. I manually put in this amount of calories because it is the just below the TDEE for my goal weight if I am sedentary so I am training myself to eat at my future maintenance.…

I used to make a great tator-tot casserole, I know probably not the healthiest, but I did not realize that one serving was well over 700 calories! My daughter requested it recently, so I tried to make it a little better by using half ground turkey half hamburger, frozen vegetables instead of canned, less cheese... Still…

Congrats! That is amazing progress, and I'm glad you have the love and support you need to keep you positive about your journey. Best wishes!

When I got pregnant with my 2nd I was obese and unhealthy, and I actually lost 12 lbs in the first ~4 months due to eating healthier and quitting soda. I gained 17 lbs during the second half, and had a healthy 8 lb baby :) My Dr told me that weight isn't as much of an issue as nutrition is. Eat when you are hungry, eat…

I eat oatmeal 99% of the time, but I add different fruits to it to spice things up. Pumpkin, banana, apple, berries, peaches, soooo many things that are delicious and nutritious! :)

Do you involve your kids in any of the grocery shopping or cooking? I've gotten my daughter to try so many different healthy foods she used to turn her nose up to by letting her help me shop (for produce especially, she likes to feel and smell everything) and prepare food.

My dad said that about any food that had a little kick to it haha I still wonder why I would eat if after he said that, as if I wanted a hairy chest... :ohwell: I had a friend that believed that our bodies were empty and when you ate your body would fill up until you were too full, that's what makes you throw up. I thought…

There are several things that cause weight to raise when you first get pregnant, such as water retention and blood volume. Keep in mind that your bmr and maintenance calorie amounts go up by a couple hundred calories (at least) while you are building a person. As long as you are eating healthy, taking your prenatal…

I don't care how long people choose to breastfeed their kids, your boobs = your choice. I nursed my daughter for 4 months and am nursing my son who is 7 months old, I plan to go the first year then we'll see. However, the title did upset me a little. I am so tired of the mompetition! People without kids hate you for having…

I've been wanting to watch these again, but am trying to not spend too much time sitting on my a** haha. Solution found!

I take my kids for walks 3-4 days a week, otherwise I wait for them to go to bed because I am NOT a morning person! :)

I layer sports bras, and usually add a tight-fitting tank for a little more comfort/security. It's probably over-kill, but I've bounced out of enough bras to be paranoid:smile:

I've been nursing for almost 7 months with my second kid, I also try to make sure I'm never netting below 1800, that seems to be my current cut-off for calorie needs to continue producing (it was much higher in the beginning). Good luck!

If you were getting married next week, I'd say go for it!

Best is hard to judge, but I vote for Tom Morello for most innovative guitarist, at least in my lifetime.

It's not like all benefits of exercise are wiped away with a cigarette.

I don't really have cheat days, because my entire goal is to lose weight slowly and progressively add more healthy foods to my regular diet. So I usually have small portions of "unhealthy" food in my daily log anyway. My entire goal is to build a sustainable lifestyle, and if I don't have a little bit of junk here and…

I started using soy milk because I'm trying to increase my calcium intake and my body doesn't tolerate large quantities of milk. I also don't really like the amount of hormones, antibiotics, and other undesirable things in cow's milk, but that's just kind of a secondary issue. I like the vanilla soy milk and almond milk, I…

Dr. Pepper... the only thing I'm not willing to restrict from my diet, I can't help myself

Feel free to add me :) I'm in it for the long run and need some support as well

I love doing Dance Central, it has a workout mode that keeps track of your calories burned based on the amount of movement you are doing. It is the only "workout" Kinect game I have done, so I am not a very good judge, but it's fun and keeps me active every day without *feeling* like I'm exercising haha

My husband and I go to bed by ourselves, but usually wake up with both kids who have snuck in somehow in the middle of the night. I wish we had thought to buy a king size bed!

MFP takes in to account your "lifestyle" as well, so if you are sedentary they recommend consuming less calories a day compared to if you are active.
