I get that feeling a lot these days. When I go out for walks, I usually give into the temptation and sneak in a few mini-jogs. Very odd indeed.

Nice job on W4D1!!

I looked it up, the Kinvara 3 has a heel-to-toe drop of 4mm, which is in the 0-10mm range of minimalist shoes. If you're making the transition, everywhere you read will advise you to take things slow. As in really slow, like less than 10% of what you would normally do in your regular shoes and slowly bump it up every…

I usually go out for a 30-60 min walk on my off days at the same time I would normally go for C25K or later in the afternoon depending on my schedule. Walking daily is what got me to start C25K. It's easy to do, and I actually enjoy that time.

I use NHS podcasts, and put them on a cheap mp3 player. http://itunes.apple.com/podcast/nhs-couch-to-5k/id394384987?mt=2

I like reading your progress, and I'm happy you're doing so well. I'm in Week 4 now. There are some free apps you can try while you're waiting on buying a gps watch. Some of them are endomondo.com (i use this), runkeeper.com, sports-tracker.com, etc.

I run on grass soccer fields, and today I actually closed my eyes through part of the 5 min runs. Keep your head up, maintain good posture and form, and just concentrate on controlling your breathing. You'll do fine.

If you're interested in times, I would suggest just browsing some of the results since they're grouped by gender and age. I'm not sure where you live, but a lot of the races in my area use this site: http://www.racesonline.com/ Just click on any of the races, look for prior year results. Or if there's a particular race in…

Actually, week 4 has 5 minute runs

Holy mackerel, this thread made me flounder around laughing my halibut off. This whole grouper deserves a silver dollar.

Everyday is hard, but each day I get stronger. I just did W4D1 today. If you're able to complete all the runs, I'd keep moving forward. I'd suggest slowing down if you're struggling with the distance/time. It'll still be hard, but you won't tire as fast. The idea is to build up your stamina, not necessarily your speed.…

I didn't read the article, but I do own a pair of Vibram KSO's, and I'm slowly making the transition. Check out www.birthdayshoes.com I would suggest saving your money and just walking around barefoot and getting your feet acclimated to different surfaces. Just walk around barefoot wherever and whenever possible. You'll…

That's quite impressive! Nice job.

Awesome! You're doing great! I know what you mean about the more definition in the legs. I can see the veins from my ankle all the way past my knee...lol.

I look at the diaries and list of foods, but I rarely comment. Most people don't want unsolicited suggestions. However, If someone asks a question or makes a statement, I'll certainly try to answer it or give support.

It helped me. I've been slowly working my way out these past 2 months. I was in a deep depression for about a year due to losing my job, getting out of a relationship, losing touch with most friends due to my travel job, getting off drugs, and losing more friends. A lot of things happened all at once, and I lost all of the…

Congratulations! The fact that you stuck with the program is a testament to your determination. Let us know how you do.

Willpower. The more you exercise it, the easier it becomes. Moderation and portion control. If it fits your macros/calorie goal, it won't hurt you to indulge every now and then.

Oats are usually measured uncooked, because of the variance of how much water can be added.

Hire a stunt double. Works for me.

If you're really slow like me, here's for 4.0 mph run and 2.5 mph walk: Week 3 - Run 0.6 miles, Walk 0.38 miles, Total 0.98 miles Week 4 - Run 1.07 miles, Walk 0.23 miles, Total 1.30 miles Week 5 Day 1 - Run 1.0 miles, Walk 0.25 miles, Total 1.25 miles Week 5 Day 2 - Run 1.07 miles, Walk 0.21 miles, Total 1.28 miles Week 5…

Assuming 6.2 mph run pace and 3.0 mph walk pace: Week 3 - Run 0.93 miles, Walk 0.45 miles, Total 1.38 miles Week 4 - Run 1.65 miles, Walk 0.28 miles, Total 1.93 miles Week 5 Day 1 - Run 1.55 miles, Walk 0.3 miles, Total 1.85 miles Week 5 Day 2 - Run 1.65 miles, Walk 0.25 miles, Total 1.90 miles Week 5 Day 3 - Run 2.07…

It really depends on your speed/pace. If you do it based on time, the program is assuming that you'll be running at 6.2 mph. And in that case, you won't hit the 3.1 miles until Week 9. Determine what your speed is for running and your speed for walking. Divide the 2 different speeds by 60 min to get Miles per Minute for…

I've been wearing my HRM for my first 3 weeks of C25K. I'm 30, male. I only have data for 5 of the 9 days, because the other 4 I didn't stop the HRM after the session as I walked an additional 30 min afterwards, so it would skew the average HR. Of the 5 days, I have: W1D1 Avg HR 146, Max HR 171 W1D2 Avg HR 136, Max HR 158…

Feel free to add me. This morning I completed Week 3 Day 3. My motivation comes from the fact that I've signed up and paid to run with a group and coach starting on July 7. It's a Couch to 4 Miler training group in my city. I should be able to complete Week 6 before then, so I'll have a head start.

Just finished Week 3 this morning. I'm 30 and I'm jogging with my father who is 68 years old. W1D1 was horrible as both of us had such a hard time jogging for 30 seconds, and we felt like we were going to die. Today W3D3, we extended the last 3 min jog into 5 minutes, so we've come a long way. We haven't had to repeat any…

Congrats! I actually posted about D2 feeling harder in my status on Wednesday. IMO I always find D2 more difficult, because you've experienced it once already, but the time feels longer. I did W3D3 today and it was much easier.

Way to go! Is that a pack of cigarettes?

Congratulations! I'm in W3 right now and plan on running my first race in September. Here's a neat thread with some helpful race-day tips: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/279198-running-tip-so-you-are-about-to-do-your-first-race
