Yay! You found the thread! I like the grilled cheese, too. I've also added some meat to the grilled cheese (they call them Tosti's here: grilled sandwich with ham or turkey. Yum!

I know EXACTLY who's to blame! That idiot who discovered chocolate! Oh, and the guy who invented peanut butter. Of course, the evil genius who put them together is the most culpable of all! :-)

LOVE pomegranates!

Don't we wish! :-)

Maybe cut the carbs and replace with protein? I went low carb ( which you should only do if that's something you can stick with, of course), and my tummy is flat. But I also do Pilates, strength training and loads of cardio. I believe that once you find something that works for you, stick with it! You can do it!

I try to log everything, but that being said, I have had two meals this season that I didn't log. Those two meals were from restaurants and I didn't have any idea how to log what I'd eaten! Still, I tried to make the best choices available (for instance, passing on the GORGEOUS bowl of fries last night and opting for the…

Very inspirational! Having patience is the most important part, and sometimes it gets so frustrating not seeing the small changes yourself... Thanks for this reminder!

You can do this on your own! I, too, had/have to rely on myself to go to the gym, go to my Pilates class, ride my bike when the weather allows. And not only do I have to go to that scary gym on my own, I live in a country where I don't really speak the language! I still manage to get there and struggle my way through the…

BCSmama and Axialmeow, I'm so sorry you had/have problems! That is exactly what I'm trying to avoid with my daughter! I haven't mentioned any more about it to her (after telling her that she is a wonderful kid who is beautiful both inside and outside and who is loved by both her mommy and daddy very much), but I'm…

Thank you, everyone. My husband loves the girls and really has their best interests at heart, but sometimes he's such a dolt about the way he handles things (and today was among his worst). I just don't think he understands... At all... What words can do to young minds, especially when those words are highly critical.

This looks amazing!

Hi all. Yes, i have to admit that I have a bit of an addiction to those Atkins bars... I am a chocoholic! I don't drink shakes, but maybe you're referring to the fact that I use egg-whites in place of the whole egg. I do it for the cholesterol count. My family has a history of high blood pressure and bad choles. levels, so…

I'm from Michigan! I grew up in Redford and lived in the Metro Detroit area until 2001 when I moved to Europe. Now I'm in the Netherlands, but I also spent a couple of years in Ireland. Missing Michigan! (but not the weather...) ;-)

Sorry my rant was so unclear. Yes, the pizza and the spaghetti are wonderful and low calorie. It was more the "goodies" that throw me off. And of course, goodies of any kind are not going to be low cal... I just so love to try new recipes to keep meals interesting, but it's hard to find things that are both low carb and…

I've used it quite a bit! There are plenty of recipes out there (I'm not one of those cooks who knows how to substitute easily, so I definitely need that type of direction). It tastes very nice, though the texture of things is slightly different.

Can you send me the info? Thanks!

Great suggestions! I'll look into the HIIT and a more cardio-based circuit training (right now, I start with the stationary bike, move onto weights, then cool down on the treadmill). The idea of constantly increasing is good, too. I've been doing that with the biking levels and with the weights (adding when they start to…

Thanks! I really want to make this change stick, though (and not burn me out), so I'm trying to mix it up to keep it interesting. The variety each week seems to be doing that for me, but I don't want to waste my time doing things that work against one another, either. Glad to hear that what I'm doing will work long term!

Thank you!

That's great! I've just started running and want to try for a 5k next spring. It just might be possible!
-
Bump! Just ordered one of these things, too!

I had/have this problem, too! I've always wanted to be able to run, but...well you know how that goes... Over the summer, I did a LOT of biking and started a Pilates class three times a week. Then, two weeks ago, I wasn't able to make it to the gym, so hubby asked if I wanted to go for a jog with him. Um. Yeah. I just…

It could that that TOM, too. I weigh myself every morning and track it in a journal. I've found that I gain a bit just before my TOM, then the day it starts, drop 2 pounds. I hover there all week, then start losing again. Don't worry about it too much. Fluctuations happen. And you're doing great, so keep on doing what you…

I'm 48 and have lost almost 75 pounds since February just by cleaning up and eating and taking up more cardio exercise. I went from an EU size 42 to a 34 (I believe the US equivalents are a 12 to a 6 (ish)). It can be done! You can do it!

Those photos are making me hungry! Yummy! Here are a couple blogs dedicated to LC cooking/recipes: peaceloveandlowcarb.blogspot.com http://mariahealth.blogspot.nl/ http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/ http://alldayidreamaboutfood.com/ There are so many great recipes out there. I'm always trying new things! And the nice part is…

I can so relate to that one "freaky" meal trick! What do you do when you have no control over what's offered? Sheesh. But then, you do what you have to do and work it out later, right? ;-) As for my numbers, I'm working on them. It's all good.

Well, I went a little low on calories two days ago and lost weight (gee, who would have guessed). Yesterday, though, I ate a LOT, and this morning was still down. I don't think I should really complain (who can complain when the scale goes down?). ;-) Maybe today I'll allow myself a bit more. ;-)

Made these yesterday with 1/2 teaspoon Stevia, and it worked very, very well... Yummy!

Thanks all. I'm trying to find a good balance. I guess there's just going to be a lot of trial and error to find the right balance for me. It's all good!

LauraDotts, I looked back at the last week or so of my diary to see what my percentages were, and while my carb % does jump around a bit, it seems to be fairly consistent with what it was before I started trying to eat more. Hopefully, that means I'm doing something right! MarissaCB39, I understand about the cravings.…
