  • I really hope that after filming they said to the dieters 'look guys, this made fun TV but just count your calories properly and you'll be fine". As if the guy on the raw food diet isn't just going to go back to his old ways! Actually I hope he takes a leaf out of his mate's book and starts calorie counting.
  • Hope everyone's well! Hello from the Pit of Death aka the house where we both have a cold. He's got it worse than me, but I'm pretty exhausted and under the weather. I've had a snack in the late afternoon and in the evening for the last couple of days because I've felt weak and fuzzy headed, didn't want to push my body too…
  • Water, fruit, veggies and protein doesn't sound like the worst thing in the world as long as you're eating enough of it, and it's nice to get some vitamin C from the lemon (although you are probably getting enough in your fruit and veg), but why stop with the coffee? Are you never going to have coffee ever again? What's…
  • That sometimes it just doesn't make sense! My partner (also logging here) occasionally likes to wolf down a packet of huge triple chocolate cookies as a treat. At 1200 calories a pack on top of his lunch and dinner it puts him over his maintenance, but WITHOUT FAIL he has always lost weight the next morning! It's got to…
  • I've kept up with Couch to 5 K so far, and can feel myself getting fitter with every run!
  • Yep, I did about half of my 40 lb goal last year and will lose the other half this year!
  • Thanks Kitty! This weekend was spent back home with family, eating and drinking lots. Had two meals a day which was interesting as I felt a bit sluggish and bloated from eating so much. Back on the horse today. The other half is home from work today and has just made himself some noodles for lunch, I must admit that I had…
  • My other half's mum does 5:2 and really likes it but she just loves to eat grilled chicken and salad anyway so low cal suits her. I prefer my way of controlling my CI - like some who have already posted, I eat one large meal a day (basically fasting for 23 hours a day). It works really well for my satiety and lifestyle.
  • I'm looking forward to eating at an Italian restaurant with my family tonight! Haven't seen most of them since September so we are going to eat, drink and be merry. I've already planned my food... Bruscetta, salami and jalapeño pizza, then maybe even share a dessert with someone!
  • At the moment I am generally eating one big meal at night, but I might have small snacks at other times if I need them.
  • Brilliant!
  • Funnily enough, yesterday was pretty great! Maybe because I've eaten this way at various times in my life before it's taken my body a little less time to get into the swing of things. Day 4 - Friday 15th Jan. Not that hungry, only had one black coffee. Had a beer before dinner, which was a fried chicken wrap with cheesy…
  • Great loss, Craig!
  • Congratulations on your loss Kitty! Every little helps! Enjoy your lunch, you've earned it
  • Good to hear you're doing well! Your dinner sounds delicious.
  • Thanks all! Blambo, that sounds like a great idea. Day 3 - Thurs 14th Jan Day 3 was the toughest so far, probably because my meal the night before wasn't quite as filling, but I made it. I also had fewer calorific additions to my coffee during the day, which might have made a difference. My stomach was growling loudly…
  • My partner is 6 ft, around 185 (I think) and his calories for losing 1 lb a week are in the same ballpark as my maintenance calories at 5'4 and 138 lbs, haha! It can be difficult to plan food which doesn't put me over or leave him hungry - often we'll finish dinner and I'll be at my calorie goal then he'll eat a 500…
  • Oh for sure! I'll happily spend an extra couple of hours walking on the treadmill if I need to free up some booze calories!
  • A decent bottle of red is about 600 which is what I'm potentially factoring in ;)
  • If you're going to enjoy drinking alcohol for the foreseeable future, you should definitely factor it into your calories! If I stopped drinking to lose weight then reached my goal and started drinking again, I bet I'd put on weight again as I wouldn't have learnt how to include alcohol calories in my day to day life.
  • Cheers all! Marabou Bubbly looks gooood. Craignev, it was the Showcase! First time we'd been there, those chairs are crazy comfy. Day 2 - Wednesday 13th Jan Yesterday went pretty well! Coffee in the daytime. I had a couple of brief headaches which went away quickly, and Week 5 Day 1 of Couch to 5 K was good. I didn't…
  • I've just done W5D1, the three blocks of 5 minute runs were tiring but definitely do-able! First 8 minute runs next time, wish me luck...
  • It's so true. My brand was White Star (I assume it was a knock off), plus Richmond Menthol Superkings. Yuck! Someone earlier said they need to find a way to make mac and cheese sound fancy... In the UK it's called macaroni cheese ;) Scone is of course pronounced to rhyme with cone, the meal order is breakfast, lunch and…
  • Well done for staying strong!
  • Nice one Kitty, that sounds like a great treat for a job well done! I might start doing that myself, I need to be more adventurous with my make up :)
  • Jam first of course, so you can properly spread it. Oh you people, I want a cream tea now! Must source clotted cream.
  • No but thanks for the heads up, l'll watch that on 4od while I'm on the treadmill later! I love watching that sort of thing even if I do end up getting cross with the participants most of the time.
  • ...your name: Sam ...your weight: 140 lbs ...your height: 5"4 ...any past struggles you've faced or are facing: I love good food and drink! I've lost 20 lbs since March 2015, and have 20 lbs left to go. My main stumbling block is indulging in delicious food with my partner. He's a six foot tall chap who is a lot heavier…
