I'll remember this every time I get in the ring!

Hi Chrs, I'm bipolar and have both panic attacks and chronic migraine syndrome. My panic attacks and anxiety have gotten better with talk therapy, the right medication (although I still have a fast acting anxiety med on hand), and working around animals. I have a service dog that thankfully I have the skills to train…

I've been there and lost my motivation after losing 80 lbs and gained 65 back. While part of it was medication related I still put all the extra calories and comfort foods in my mouth. It was easy for me to get back on track after I quit taking the medication. But I got my emotions together while I was still on it and…

3500 calories is 1 pound of fat so you typically need to eat 3500 calories over your TDEE to gain or lose 1 lb of fat if all other variables are constant (i.e. activity, water intake, sodium intake, etc.). Each person generally has the same internal biology barring any medical conditions (known or unknown) so you would…

The thing is people should do their own independent research before choosing any activity or heart rate monitor. I use both depending on what I am doing. But I certainly wouldn't depend on either one if I wanted 100% accurate numbers. I would worry if my heart rate was 25-75 bpm off though and I wasn't aware of it during a…

Oh boy, for those who just hate their period, wait for perimenopause to start....

I have one with a glove fetish, she always steals one glove out of a pair and chews it to shreds, then eats it in tiny pieces. I hide my work gloves, riding gloves and biking gloves, she will even steal them out of pockets. Not the one pictured, he's passed.

I don't have cheat days, I just plan ahead if I'm going to have something I want so I can fit it into my day. I also bank my calories on a weekly basis. The only food I really eat a lot less of is pizza, which I'm not to crazy about to begin with so it's not a huge sacrifice. I will also add more activity if I know I'm…

Unless I'm doing hills I can only get into the 65% working level when walking but I tend to overwork my legs when I run and aggravate old injuries. And that's getting drug around by three herding dogs to add resistance.

I miss it, there is nothing wrong with it. I get bad migraines and when I stopped drinking diet soda with aspartame my headaches decreased. Otherwise I would still be drinking it. Unfortunately anything sweetened with aspartame triggers migraines for me so I have to watch all foods that are artificially sweetened.

Are you weighing and measuring all of your food? How are you tracking your exercise calories? A common mistake is to underestimate food intake and overestimate calorie burn. Also increasing intensity in exercise will cause water weight gain. Give it a month, tighten up on your food tracking, eat back 50-75% of your…

You didn't have much to lose to begin with so don't expect weight loss to be fast. I agree with many others that you need to start a progressive lifting program (many have been suggested), forget everything you have heard about weight loss, starvation mode, and muscle gain; and then go read the stickies in the welcome…

A hot cup of tea usually helps me, that's 0-5 calories

Maybe when you start to obsess over food at work you could take a short break, get a glass of water and take the long way back to your desk. And you don't need to drink to the point of hangover, stop at 1 bottle of wine between you and your husband and take that money you would normally spend on more and put it in a jar to…

My first suggestion would be to log consistently, of the few days that you did only one was under 100g of protein. Eat different types of meat and add some fish to vary your diet. Greek yogurt is also packed with protein and you can add in some dairy. I love my protein milkshakes and protein Greek yogurt mixes with…

This is good advice and many others have offered great calorie dense foods. You could also add a nutrient packed protein shake or smoothie to your day, since they are liquid it might be easier for you to take them in. I add milk to my protein shakes and lots of ice so they are like milkshakes to satisfy cravings but I…

I just got a vivofit. I'm 1princesswarrior. I have no idea how to add friends yet.

When you lose weight without exercise, or more correctly resistance training, you also will lose muscle mass and not just fat. The muscle gains they are discussing in this thread are often called "newbie gains" and occur in people that have a significant amount of weight to lose and have been extremely sedentary. The…

I measure peanut butter by putting it on my food scale, taring it to zero, then measure out 16 grams or 32 grams depending on whether I want a full serving or not. Then I don't even feel guilty about licking the spoon or knife. When you read nutrition labels, they will also have weight along with the serving size unless…

First, I'm very sorry for you loss. I hope you find healing soon. I lost my first horse in a barn fire so I know how you feel about not being able to say goodbye and when you say your little bud must have been scared. It has been five years for me and the pain and guilt when I let myself think about it is the same as it…

I've started topics and been attacked that I meant to be motivational and then started topics that I thought would end up with a dumpster fire that I received a lot of support from. It all depends on the day, time, sometimes the moon cycle (only somewhat kidding here), etc. A lot of it depends on your wording. When I…

I always get bloated after running. Sometimes I will gain as much as 3 inches in the waist area and my legs really swell. And this is when I am running consistently 5 miles every other day. That could be masking your loss if you are truly eating at a deficit. Especially if you went from not running to 18-20 miles a week.

Here is my suggestion in addition to what (almost) everyone else has said. Buy a food scale and weigh every morsel of solid food that goes in your mouth and measure every liquid with cups and spoons. You are not lying about what you think you are eating and you are logging everything accurately for eye balling or using…

Here is another link you should read as you can probably lose eating more than 1200 calories if you want to eat more. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1235566

21 days is the isolation period for those who have been exposed. According to the article and this doctor, he was not exposed. There is no need to blow this out of proportion and he has been monitoring himself according to the latest guidelines.

I run and ride horses and Elle has been my favorite but I can't afford to keep buying them as I shrink so right now I'm wearing two sports bras. I'm definitely going to check into the brands listed here though. Thanks ladies!

Maybe after emotions settle down you could talk to this person and tell them how much it hurt you and the bad childhood memories it brought back. I know I can also be oversensitive at times but I typically get mad after the tears are gone and use comments like that as motivation to keep going and getting more fit and…

I take Topamax for migraine prevention and a high dose. I attribute my weight loss to a calorie deficit and exercise. I can still eat just as much now as I did before I started taking it. IMO the side effects of this drug far outweigh the benefits of using it as a weight loss medication. And btw, I lost over 20 lbs on my…

After reading the guidelines to the various flag options and having years of software testing experience my suggestion is to just not worry until you hear from a mod. The guidelines say nothing will happen on your account until it is looked at and compared against MFP guidelines. Then the point system will be taken into…
