  • First off- this isn't a race. It's a never-ending life changing journey. Comparing yourself to other people will just create frustration at yourself. Everyone loses at a different rate based on how much they exercise, and how much they stick to their plan. Your weight loss will depend on you. Instead of focusing on 70 lbs-…
  • 5'6' and 138 lbs seems like a healthy weight to me, it might be that your body is comfortable in that range, especially if you've been working out and building muscle.
  • Completely agree with you- at my thinnest- when i was 22- I was a c-cup with a J-Lo type hips and behind. No-one could have referred to me as skinny even though my stomach was concave and the rest of my body was firm.
  • I usually (3-4 nights a week) have wine with dinner. Depending on how many caloroes I have left- I might have up to 2 glasses. So yes, completely posssible- but with anything else- modersation is key. If you want to have wine at night, then log it in as early as you can so that you can save some calories during the day to…
  • Terrific Job- you look wonderful- and happy!
  • We brime- but we also apply a dry rub (of thyme, basil, salt, pepper) under the skin of the turkey right before we put it in the over. It is very moist and flavorful.
  • On the night we met - we were 17 years old and it was a blind date, although neither one of us admitted it at the time. We got engaged on our 6 year "blind date" anniversary , married on our 8th, and have been together 20 years this past September!
  • I hate plain water- so I add Crystal Light to it and can easily drink more than the 8 glasses a day!
  • I eat dessert! I plan out what I'm going to eat all day so that I have room for dessert. I will not succeed on a regimen that prohibits me from enjoying dessert- that's why MFP works for me- it's not restrictive, but rather makes you really think about what you're consuming. A sample of one of my desserts: Jello mousse cup…
  • You look 20 years younger- great progress!
  • I love Chrystal Light. I don't use it based on directions- I stretch a packet out to 3x the recommendation because I only need a little bit of flavor added to the water! I buy the variety packs and keep it at work- where I drink the majority of my water during the day.

  • Another 5'4"- er- I started at 203, currently at 174, final goal is 145-150. I have a bigger frame. At 135 (which was my weight when I was 21- I look skeletal (not good at all).
  • I'm from Union, NJ- and was just in Wildwood NJ this past weekend- gorgeous weather!
  • I was on Cymbalta for a week and then told my doctor I couldn't take it anymore! It caused sleeplessness- made me restless in my sleep- so I couldn't sleep well (which of course made me feel tired all the time). I also noticed that I wasn't hungry at all and had to remember to eat. It worked wonders on the rest of my fibro…
  • How's about Karen's Candy Creations or a Karen's Candies?
  • I think you're setting yourself up for failure. Eating healthy is a lifestyle you have to adapt. to- and eating out is a part of how we socialize. By restricting yourself from joining activities- you're going to end up quitting faster than if you go out and make healthy food choices. Yes, it's hard when everyone else is…
  • Steamed chicken and broccoli- garlic sauce on the side- then you can control how much you add!
  • Congrats- you should be very proud of what you've accomplished already!
  • It's funny you say that. I just had my "night off". I'm married, have a demanding full time job and have 2 little girls. Life is hectic- and anxiety and depression can easily creep in. My doctor recommended "a night off" from my life. A night when I can do ANYTHING I WANT! Not what the kids want- not what the husband…
  • Just bought a gorgeous sexy dress- 2 sizes down from where I started to wear on my wedding anniversary. My husband's eyes are going to pop out of his face!
  • Glory Days- Bruce Springstein
  • There were many times I felt that way- and I realized that I was punishing myself. I was taking out my feelings on my body. I don't need to tell you that it's not healthy to do that- you already know that, but I would recommend you speak to someone about it. I did, and turns out, I needed the help- and I started feeling…
  • Human Resources Manager- Love my job- for the most part!
  • You've done a great job so far. I focus on losing weight one pound at a time. It helps keep me sane- and I have leaned to celebrate those small achievements. Focusing on the big numbers won't get you there any faster- focus on being heathy. Remember this isn't a "diet"which is temporary- it's a healthier lifestyle. Best of…
  • Congrats- I am 2 lbs away from no longer being obese- and I can't wait!
  • Congrats on the amazing goal!
  • We named our baby girl Sarah Elizabeth. One day when she was almost 2 she said "My name is Sarah Beth". and from then we realized how much we love the name Sarah Beth!
  • I'm sorry you're going through these health issues. i was also diagnosed with a major health issue last year. Even though I will be on increasing medication for the rest of my life, it has also made me realize that I'd not taken as good care of myself as I should have. The bright side is that my illness is not fatal. And…
  • That's a great one. I've gotten alot of practice at this. In fact- I'll be practicing again at 3pm when cake's being served for a colleague!
  • My husband (also on MFP- and he's lost 45 lbs) and I have the same problem. What has worked for us is putting the laptop on the kitchen counter and having the MFP site on so that it makes it easier and more convenient. Also we've created "Meals" that we can have on the weekend and then just add to our food list as a quick…
