Hi everyone- I started over again last week- using Myfitnesspal & Fitbit!!!

ok- coming from a woman.... I think your wife wants you to be healthy, but she might resent the time you spend away from your family. It's a difficult position to be in- I've been there with my husband. My advice is to keep working out, but also try to make some extra effort to spend time with your wife and kids. For…

My favorite: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take- but by the number of moments that take our breath away.

I understand your concern about getting on the scale- but I really think you should. You need to acknowledge and accept where you are at right now- so that you'll know how far you'll go. otherwise, you could be having great results and not knowing it. I was scared too- but once I confronted it- it became just the starting…

Hi- without knowing how "Obese" you are, it's difficult to give you advice. I was "Obese" before getting pregnant with both my daughters. During pregnancy was the only time in my life when I couldn't seem to gain any weight. I had morning sickness that lasted all day- and through half of each preganncy- so I had a very…

It sound to me like you need help. SERIOUS Help. Your self worth is tied into how you look, and even that seems distorted. I don't even think this is a weight issue, I think you have other internal issues you need to address before you tackle the external ones. Until you change how you feel about yourself, you will not be…

Sign me up! With a full time job- and as a full time wife & mom- I usually have 2-3 glasses a night! I'll start on Monday!

Stop thinking about losing 80 lbs. That shouldn't be your focus. Focus on eating healthy and exercising to live longer with your soon-to-be hubby. You'll also create good life-long habits that you'll share with your hubby as well. Also, set smaller goals. I work towards 10 lbs at a time- otherwise, it will feel hopeless.

I don't think you're eating enough calories considering how much you're working out. If you are eating too little, your body will go into starvation mode and you won't lose weight.

You've done a wonderful job. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love Peanut Butter and have it almost every day. I use Skippy's Reduced Fat or Jif's whipped peanut butter (which is less dense so it has less calories). I spread it over bananas, apples, celery, etc. . Sometimes even for desert mixed with low fat vanilla ice cream. I usually only use 1 tsp of it as opposed to the…

Don't be discouraged- you're trying to be healthier and that's all that counts. 1200 calories a day if you're working out 3 times a week seems a little low to me. When I consume less than 1200 (whether I work out or not), I do not lose weight- but if I stay a little above 1300 I tend to lose. I think you just need to find…

I agree- I went through your food diary as well. You are not regularly logging your food- and when you do- you are WAY under your caloric intake goals. Your body needs fuel in order to burn fat, and it doesn't seem you're getting enough. I can usually feel it if I eat less than 1200 calories throughout the day- there's a…

My best piece of advice: Definately buy a food scale to weight the food you're eating. You could be eating the healthiest food possible, but if you underestimate the size of the portion you're having- it won't make a difference. I weight everything from chicken breast to pasta (yes you can still enjoy pasta). Just make…

What a wonderful accomplishment! You should feel extremely proud of yourself- you never gave up! I hope the soreness eases up for you soon! Will you be doing it again next year?

Congratulations- what an exciting time! BTW- buying your shoes before buying the dress is better so that when you try on dresses- you'll know what you look like! That's what I did! Also, if you can find an occasion to wear them before your wedding- that would be ideal- 1st, you can break them in, and secondly, they can be…

Only you can make the choice and effort required to get you where you want to be. We can all make excuses every day for not working out or overeating- but in the long run, that's not getting us anywhere. Losing weight is hard work- physically and emotionally. We can't fix our bodies without addressing our emotional needs.…

Going slightly over is ok- the key is listening to your body. You will learn to recognize the signs that you haven't eaten sufficiently- regardless of how many calories you've had. In those cases, opt for a healthy snack and if you go over, it won't impact you negatively.

Great job- keep it up!

It's never to late to start- welcome to MFP. I had a similar experience- when I look back at pictures I never realized how thin I was, but after getting and two kids, I didn't recognize myself anymore. So I decided to stop making excuses- everything I put in my mouth was in my control- being healthy was up to me. And now,…
