Donating most. I was going to try my hand at DIY tailoring some of my big button up shirts. Haven't taken the time to do it yet though.

You want to focus on nutrient dense more so then just calorie dense. Like dsrees said, downing a bunch of sugar can get you a lot of calories but what will actually help sustain you between meals will be something that have more nutrients. Eggs, nuts, avacado, sweet potato, full fat greek yogurt, etc.

Carbs are mainly for pure energy. Your body uses fat and protein for rebuilding cells as well as energy.
-
Your sources of carbs seem fine aside from the cheerios which relative to other cold cereal aren't too bad. Everything else seems to be from sources that are not devoid of fiber. Easiest way to get more protein is to eat more meat. Also try eggs for breakfast a few times a week. You can also pre-cook some grilled chicken…

I have been hearing more and more about people training during a fasted state seeing significant improvements. I have lately been mixing in my own bulletproof coffee in the mornings once in a while. Basically I am drinking around 400cals of fat, mainly MCT from coconut oil, grass-fed butter, and heavy cream to taste to…

Can't remember if it uses aspertame or sucralose. I think it is the latter. I have read that it isn't necessarily 0 calories and our bodies may be able to metabolize about 15% of it. I got up to about two 16oz cans of sugar free energy drinks a day (mainly Nos or Rockstar, I hate Monster) for about 2 years straight. Near…

Yes. bacon avocado nuts coconut oil olive oil grass-fed butter grass-fed beef eggs http://paleomagazine.com/paleo-fats "What Everybody Ought to Know About Fats – 7 Mistakes that Can Sabotage Your Health"

So you've been the same 130lbs since you started? Do you feel like your performance in your workouts are improving or are you starting to feel like you're straining more now then before? I would maybe suggest keeping high intensity lifting to 2 days a week and low intensity activity for the remaining to allow more recovery…

It can be from nutrient deficiency but it is also common when losing weight when changing your diet. If you were eating a lot of junk before and now you cut it all off your body kinda goes through withdrawals from interrupting your pleasure/reward hormone routine. Temporary hair loss can be one of those symptoms and should…

Nope they're the same. The difference in how it is absorbed is in the fiber. Apples typically have a decent amount of fiber and that slows the absorption of the sugar. I would not be worried about apples or other fruits slowing down your weight loss or effecting your bodies total caloric metabolism. There are some strains…

You can't compare our digestion to primates. They create fat during digestion through fermentation. Our stomach and digestion cannot do that. We have to get fat from our food. A proper Atkins diet only restricts fruits and veggies for a detox stage to reset the bodies digestion from years of consuming junk on a SAD and…

When looking at naturally controlling calorie intake, yes. After isn't half of this thread arguing that the problem is eating too many calories?
-
I can only see the abstract but that is a very small 6 week study. From what I gather it is also total calorie controlled. That type is a very poor indicator of real world self regulated eating. I don't have time to go dig it up but I remember at least one comparing HFLC, LFHC, and another group. In the end HFLC group saw…

Most low carb experts shun Atkins products. I think if Atkins was still alive he would too. The estate granted naming rights and that company makes junk. As for only losing glycogen stores. That is bull****. Yeah you lose water weight at the beginning but that is maybe 5lbs at the most. That doesn't explain away losing the…

Yes over consumption is the issue. What is really being debated by the "experts" the OP linked is the cause of over consumption. Why is it all of a sudden happening so much in the last few decades, not just in the US anymore but globally? Why is it happening now? For Dr. Lustig his stance is that it is about sugar and the…

Not baloney. The type of calories-in can dictate how many calories-out just as much if not more then physical activity. It still all comes down to calories in vs out and I am not denying it. Our bodies don't burn all foods the same and that changes the amount of calories your body actually uses and how many it stores.
-
Yes some people do gain weight eating too high a ratio of protein. It is usually after they already have a very insulin resistant, damaged metabolism. For most though no that isn't their issue it is eating a diet high in processed carb rich low fiber junk that spikes your blood sugar and keeps your pancreas pumping out…

Man people get so defensive over their sugar. The main argument most of those videos the original poster listed are not saying that calories don't matter. Sugar consumption has shown to be a considerable factor in managing ones daily calories. I eat something sweet every day too that isn't the problem. People gaining…

Should add the Fathead movie to your list. People can dismiss it as bro-science all they want but the evidence has been piling up more and more against sugar. Yeah most people knew it should be eaten in small portions but that hasn't been happening. Plus there is sugar in so many processed foods that people don't even…

Protein and fat are macro nutrients. Veggy, fruit, and grains are food groups. If you're going to categorize what you eat you should pick just one classification. Different foods in a food group an have a carrying range of fat, protein, and carbs.

A good number of food studies base their information off of food surveys, asking participants to recount what they ate for a given amount of time. Without your food log how many of you can accurately recall what you ate in the past year? Now tell me if you think a scientific study based on your answer would be good for…

The type of food you put in your mouth can greatly effect your metabolism when it comes to how many calories go out. Our bodies are not a bank account with deposits and withdraws. More like a hedge fund specializing in derivatives.

You should get a glucose meter anyways to check your levels. You will get the best feedback about what foods in your diet are effecting your blood sugar the most. Test 1 hour after a meal. I would keep carbs at 100g or less. Your doc is right though taking a brisk walk or jog for 15-20 mins will lower it quicker when it…

Exercise can lower your blood sugar. Biggest thing you can do to help your blood sugar is to lower your carbs so it doesn't become elevated.

I recently came across this link with a pretty good write up about most fat misconceptions and why saturated fat is actually the heart healthy type and PUFAs like canola are the least heart healthy. http://paleomagazine.com/paleo-fats "SATURATED FAT Oh…saturated fat – so wrongly accused and vilified for so long. Saturated…

I have made cauliflower crust pizza a few times. It is surprisingly good. There are plenty of instructions on pinterest.

Damn! Hardcore right there. I usually whip up some with cocao powder or with some berries. Maybe full fat Greek yogurt. To all those freaking out. Filling out missing calories with cream is not the same as potato chips or a bag of cookies.
