Eating at a significant deficit will cause long term health consequences. It can effect brain function as well as muscle and organs. Hair can get more brittle and thin out. Skin problems can develop. I would just focus on eating real whole food and treat any indulgences as what they are, once in a while treats. You don't…

I eat 3 slices of bacon about 5 days a week as well as healthy amounts of butter. That's kinda beside the point but they aren't bad for you. The older you get the hard it will be to keep losing the same 20lbs. I started with cutting out candy, donuts, pizza, and other junk. After I conquered that I worked on cutting out…

I would guess that 2-5 are more micronutrient dense then a big mac and fries. Depending on the quality of ingredients and how they are prepared they will have more beneficial nutrients and less processed chemicals then typical american fast food. Some of those meals seem pretty carb rich for me though. Also can depend on…

Dietary fat doesn't make you fat. It was a huge 30 year myth that sadly many dietitians still perpetuate. If you're still eating a proper amount of calories, having a higher percentage of them from fat isn't going to make you fat. On the contrary it will help you from over eating.

Also inside on the treadmill make sure you have it inclined 1 degree. Having it flat is the same as running downhill.

If your heart rate is elevated while you're doing your lifting circuit you don't really need cardio. Many just a nice walk around the neighborhood or something else low intensity maybe a basic yoga routine.

I usually grab a palm full of nuts and a glass of water if I get hungry between diner and bedtime. Sometime I don't have enough calories in my diner and I like to add in some before bed. Another option is a few spoonfuls of full fat plain greek yogurt. I buy the bigger tub instead of the single serving packs. Just a few…

F*&$ all the no-fat/low-fat garbage. You haven't had good greek yogurt until you try full fat whole milk plain greek yogurt. My favorite is Fage. 1 serving of that and you feel stuffed and stay full for a very long time and I usually only need about 1/2 a serving in a sitting. I use it in cooking and as a snack, adding in…

I lost most of it 3 years ago and maintained it for a while until I started developing new bad habits and gained back about 10lbs. Since recommitting I lost that and am trying to go lower. I need to do more strength training then I do to change more body composition. Most of my exercise is cardio. 3 years ago I dipped into…

When your insulin spikes and knocks down your bloodsugar it then triggers a hunger signal. If you don't get a big insulin response anymore because your blood sugar stays low you will get less hunger cravings. The way to get the same response without drugs is through diet by lowering carb intake.

I track just me make sure I don't go crazy over or something. Like a previous poster it is more of a sanity check. I mostly pay attention to my macros. I often times get plenty of fat but not as much protein as I would like if I don't keep track.

Ham steak with warm apple sauce, cinnamon, and almonds. Fry the ham pour in a little apple sauce to heat and sprinkle with cinnamon and slivered or crushed almonds. Can even use walnuts or pecans.

As long as you are doing different things and targetting different parts of the body. I would recommend only doing intense lifting 2-3 times a week. Even rest days should have some low intensity activity like walking/hiking, yoga, or a leisurely bike ride.

I follow Jimmy Moore. I don't know if I am in ketosis or not, I don't check my ketones. I do eat pretty low carb, around 50g or less. I usually have bacon, cheese, and eggs omelette every morning, throwing in avocados, green onions, or hot peppers. My new breakfast meal that I have recently thrown in for variety is ham…

"Even animals that eat low-fat foods actually have high-fat diets. The food that goes into the mouth of a cow or a gorilla is low in fat. However, once that food is inside the digestive tract of a gorilla or cow (both substantially different than a human digestive tract), the fiber and cellulose in the plant matter is…

I have been using fresh cabbage leaf shells for tacos or steaming them to make a burrito or enchiladas. http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2013/06/chorizo-meatballs-low-carb-gluten-free.html

Tortillas make a nice plate cover so for burritos just skipping for tort is around 300cals. Fajita platters are usually pretty loaded with meat and veggies and you can leave the torts out. Don't skip the guac/avocados and sour cream those are good and filling. Skip the refried beans and go easy on the rice. Like another…

Brand new they're both pretty accurate. Both can get wonky after a while. Many mechanical ones can be re-calibrated from time to time when they start to get off. Digital ones sometimes just need a battery change but if that doesn't work they're spent.

Popular low carb diets are low carb, high fat, and moderate protein. Keeping fat even with or more then protein percentage wise for daily calories. It has worked well for me. Never feel deprived and after initial cravings for sweets my hunger is really stable. I still eat a little pasta or breads once in a while but I…

That is mostly what low fathers eat as well. First thing anyone should do going low carb is get rid of the processed carbage. Then start focusing on limiting from grains like bread, pasta, and rice.

Usually it is just your body's way of protesting you changing. Its hormonal and once you settle into a healthy routine it will recover.

Cheat meal is just one meal that you get your fix from. You eat healthy for the rest of your meals and you may be over your normal goals. Cheat day is going to town all day. Often times people that have a cheat meal end up throwing out all will power and it turns into a whole cheat day.

No. You want to get more cals from fat then protein. Like 60/30/10 f/p/c or 50/30/20. I would make sure with your yogurts to get the plain kind with no sugar added. The natural sugar from lactose isn't fructose so it isn't as bad. Whole fat Greek is very filling and I often only need half a serving compared to low fat or…

Could the difference be that you got most of your carbs from just rice and your cousin got them from rice, pizza, donuts, cookies, french fries, and everything else that goes along with anwestern carbage junk diet.

Fage total plain whole milk greek yogurt. They have a store finder on their website. Also found Oikos brand whole milk as well in several places. Both are 9g and I add a few berries if I want more flavor. Also tried cinnamon the other day and that was pretty good too. Looking at your diary if you swapped out the yogurt you…

I would search for Primal/Paleo recipes to get some ideas. Both are grain free and there are plenty of things you can eat and not feel like you're being deprived. They aren't just about eating big hunks of meat. Get plenty of veggies and be mindful of fruit, you don't have to stop eating it but some people are more…

I agree most whole grain flour that is used in a majority of products is ground so fine that it really isn't that much different.
