One more thing, no matter what the result of Friday indulgence, I MUST WORKOUT ON SATURDAY!

Bummer, huh?!!! I was rockin it between June and July then just conked out again. I do good for a couple weeks, then go off the deep end again. This last time I was in great shape and feeling really good and motivated for a month. Added on some time there. We need a new thread for August even though it's already the 11th.…

Hi Elisabeth! I know it can be done. At my best I was only drinking on weekends and only AFTER a workout. My mom, who is a drinker as well went so far as to allow herself drinking and eating, but only up until 8 PM. She lost a TON of weight when she added in walking as well. We can do THIS!

So, drink water with a lime in it and tell everyone it's vodka/gin on the rocks or a martini. Little white lies never hurt anyone. The teasing won't stop because sadly, the people that are in your pub drinking are not going to want to see you succeed. Keep it up!!!

WOW! Great idea!

getsixpack..... I would be confused with that user name!

My mom lost a ton of weight over the past couple years. All she did was take a daily walk and stop drinking at 8 PM religiously.

Shari - older than 40 - 2 kids and a hubby who brews. I don't emotional eat or drink. I just like food, crappy or otherwise. I'm lazy and like the boob tube (television/movies), but I really like running to awesome music and a clean house, too. I like Coors Lite. I like the taste, especially in the summer and they go down…

Also, there are things you can eat in the AM 2-3 hours prior to your run that will help your 5K. Check it out on line. 1/2 a bagel and 1/2 a banana a couple hours before (along with my tea) usually helps my energy level.

iPhone has an internal battery that you cannot replace if it goes bad or dies and is "i" exclusive. You can use your Android purchases on other toys. I HATE Apple's proprietary hold on my media and would never buy ANYTHING through iTunes. ANDROID ALL THE WAY!!

Idiocy.

I'm enjoying the experience and find it extremely motivating. Feel free to add if you'd like to follow along. I may not be able to answer too many questions as a newbie myself, but we can learn together. Sounds like you are doing great already!

Would that be considered medical advice?

Bump it!!!

Okay so I usually drink beer everyday and quite a bit. When I was at my best weight, I would not drink during the week unless there was an occasion and woudl only drink on the weekend AFTER I worked out. In my 30s that worked out great and I got to an ideal weight. I am finding it very difficult in my 40s. Difficult not to…

Hi there, I am going to try the 11 week elimination challenge posted in motivation: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/553931-11-week-elimination-challenge-let-s-get-ready-for-summer. I'm pretty competitive when it comes down to it so I'm not only going to compete, I am going to challenge myself to win. I don't want…

Hi there, You don't need machines or equipment. There are many "rep" exercises you can do using your own body weight. Getting outdoors to run, walk and bike is great too. I don't have a gym membership or equipment but am going to give this a shot. We can figure it out together!

Got you all beat. I've been on a 3-year binge! I get a streak going for about 2 weeks, then lose it and overindulge nonstop. I now weigh 1 lb more than when pregnant with each of my children and over 40. Afraid to say the word addiction... it has a connotation of no self control and weakness that has been inbred in me…
