Yep, me too. It is only my love for pizza, cakes, chocolate that drives me to exercise and to keep on doing so now I am below my target weight!

There are many Aldi stores here in the UK. I don't what they are like in the USA but here they have fairly basic in store layouts and displays but often have unusual but high quality food and hardware goods always at bargain prices. However, the stock changes all the time and you can't be sure of ever buying the same item…

I use iSmoothrun - free, supports many exercise input options and interacts with the Runkeeper website and others. I also use Digifit for general health and exercise metrics.

Feel free to add me, I am in Chorley, Lancs and often Thurlstone, South Yorks.

I am 56 and have lost 30lbs since I joined MFP and began exercising a few months ago. Retiring can be a positive advantage as it gives you more time to exercise, plan your day and keep away from temptation!

No, you don't have to run, but some people actually enjoy it. I don't but still do it sometimes. Looking at your signature I see you have already lost 41lbs - so whatever it is you are doing now is working.

Count me in!

I am 56 but feel fitter than I have for years thanks to exercise, diet and MFP. Feel free to add me to your Friends list. :)

I'm from Chorley, feel free to add me if you wish. :)

I now have an investment income but before that I was a staff photographer and picture editor on a number of UK newspapers before running my own news agency on Havana, Cuba for most of the 1990's.

Hi, I am from Lancashire, feel free to add me if you wish :)

Small ones are better...

Please do add me as a friend!

I use the Fitbit Ultra and it really s very good, not so much as a pedometer but as the front end to their very comprehensive website which interacts with MFP to seamlessly pass data back and forth and keeps both in sync, but also a motivator. You may find you seldom look at the Fitbit itself but it is there all the time…

I generally eat 1500+ calories a day rather than my allocated 1200 but then I compensate for it making sure I do several hundred calories worth of exercise a day, so most days I have a hundred or so calories spare. Exercise is the key!!

The first step is always the hardest. Just get back into the routine, you have already done once and so you know you can do it. Remember, that you have friends here that been through it all.

Eight pounds in one week is great going! In you should start noticing a difference in a week or so. Moving round will be easier and you feel more energetic Give it time:)

Nothing wrong with freckles. :)

Like everyone else says, your figures sound about right. The HRM will always give a personalized result rather than the broad average the MFP or any other statistically based estimate will do. My own HRM often gives very different results from those from MFP, sometimes higher, sometimes lower.

I am a vegetarian and have been for years. Please feel free to add me :)

A small one for me please. However, the sexiest part of any woman is the bit between her ears.

When the weather permits I try and do an 8-10 mile walk every day, and then a one hour session on the X-Box 360 using Your Shape 2012, I spend a lot of time away from home and when there I have access to an elliptical exercise machine upon which I try and do two one hour sessions if I cannot get out for a walk. I aim to do…

I use a Scosche Mytrek HRM. I like it because it is worn on the forearm, is easy to setup and use, and connects by bluetooth to my iPhone. It comes with it's own app but will also work with Digifit and iSmoothrun apps.

Great to have you here!

Well, I'm 55, so I guess I am middle aged at least, so please feel free to add me!

I find it hard to manage on 1200 cals a day. I have found the that for me the best way is to do as much exercise as possible to gain extras calories and also to avoid temptation by keeping as few food treats in the house as possible.

I agree with the Captain - be advised by your cardiologist in this.
