My brother and sister are 7 and 8 years older than me. When they were teenagers they got a cheapy weight set. She used it as much as he was. I started using it when I was 12 or so. I started going to the highschool gym and the local rec center around 16. I never thought women lifting was "weird" or "wrong". I took weight…

If it makes you feel better about gaining, by all means, try gaining muscle as you gain. It won't be all muscle but some of it will if you start lifting heavy and getting enough protein.

Where did this forum come from? I'm shooting for 150.

I wear boy shorts. I probably have VPL but I try not to care.

I think it's a little silly to assume that your spouse is going to find you the most attractive person in the world. What happens when you get old? I think it's better to be more realistic. Realize that he finds you attractive and more importantly he loves you for things beyond physical beauty.

This. I'm also a pear. Strong Lifts 5x5 is my favorite. The only time lifting made my thighs bigger was when I was eating 3000+ calories a day.

I wouldn't call an insecure 19 year old a troll...

Wow. Really? If you've really been told this your entire life, I feel bad for you. This is the type of crap we need to fight as women. Beauty is NOT everything. How about kindness? Intelligence? Drive, determination, humor, personality, strength, health, fitness? Women should be our friends, our allies, our mentors, not…

The exact mean is yes, 5'4". There's a range for "average" in BMI, why not height? But I'd say: "average" is more like 5'2 to 5'7". 5'2" to 5' is "below average". Shorter than 5' is "short". 5'7" to 5'10" is "above average. 5'10" to 6' is "tall". Above 6' is "really tall". And yes, I just made up those definitions. Maybe I…

Well society can go screw itself. Un-develop the complex. I weigh the same as my husband and am the same height. Actually I'm about 10lbs heavier right now since he's in racing shape and I'm in stressed-out shape. And really who wants to be "cute" past 16? I want to be smart, funny, sexy, confident, beautiful, and powerful…

What about cowboy boots?

This one time I was going to have sex with a man but then he said no because I was wearing flats. Said no one ever.

I do find the 8-15 rep thing interesting. I can't progress with weights at that high rep. It just never seems to get easier. It's probably a mental thing.
-
That was going to be my answer. I think you could pull it off since you have pink-ish skin and light eyes.

I'm also 5'9". First, that's not really that tall. 6' plus is tall. 5'9" is just above average. Second lifting doesn't challenge femininity unless you have a weird 1950s definition of it. Pretty sure it's not unfeminine to be strong and awesome. I am still very "curvy" (as that is my natural shape but being naturally…

Heavy lifting usually means compound barbell movements, as heavy as you can 3-6 sets of 3-6 reps. For ME, 5'9", 165lbs, heavy lifting is: Squats: 3x6x115lbs. Bench: 3x6x115lbs Shoulder Press: 3x6x85lbs Deadlifts: 2x6x175lbs Pendlay Rows: 3x6x85lbs.
-
I think it's usually just squat, bench press and deadlifts but really whatever as long as you are comparing the same thing (so don't compare your wilks that includes press with someone's who is not including press).

'uh, I decided that I didn't care enough, about any possible additional improvements, to try hard enough to achieve those improvements.... Hence, maintenance.
-
As good as before? Probably not. Pretty damn good and it's just a little bit of extra skin / stretch marks so who cares? Absolutely.
-
That's mesmerizing.

5'8.75" ~160lbs BMI: 24 Body fat percentage: 23-25% (guess)

No. Swimming will not make your look like Hulk Hogan.

We bike together some but he's way better than I am. I wouldn't want to lift with him. Pretty sure he's a bro-science-know-it-all when it comes to lifting and I actually know what I'm doing.

I know I'm not as strong as Sara but I got a new 1RM on bench today. :drinker: Bodyweight: 160lbs: Calculated 1RM: Bench: 138lbs Squat: 144lbs Dead: 210lbs OHP: 88lbs
