  • Nice to see you here. Feel free to add me and send me messages. I'm always looking for motivation and I know that the larger my support group, the better my odds.!!!!
  • A little late, but can I still join???? I would like to set a goal of 150 miles in July. As of right now I have 24.82 miles on the books.
  • Yeah, one time when I was riding my bike regularly I continued to gain. DUH, not because I was riding my bike...but because I felt that riding my bike EARNED me the right to eat the footlong cheeseburger sub with a big bag of chips just for me....dessert of course was a huge banana split.....for a mid afternoon snack.…
  • DO NOT give up! You need to learn to work with YOUR body and YOUR cravings and ignore everyone else. You are a unique individual and as thus this weight loss journey is your unique journey. As for the candy. It's not a failure unless you LET it be a failure. I lost all the weight once before 135 pounds gone. I did it by…
  • This truly is a time where you have to figure out what works for your body. I personally can't eat many of my exercise calories that I earn. If I eat all of them, I don't lose. I have a friend that has to eat every bite of her exercise calories in order to lose. Our bodies are totally different. When I'm eating in my…
  • I've not used runtastic. I use mapmyrun (or mapmyride). It does basically the same thing as runtastic. I know for mapmyride I've compared my HR monitor calories burned with the mapmyride calories burned and also cross checked it with myfitnesspal. I typically find that they are all within 50 calories of each other. SO…
  • I started the thirty day shred just this morning also. (I had done a couple days a while back). This year is marking the year that I FINISH things. So no matter what, I'm going to stand on May1 and say that the 30 day shred is COMPLETE! (February and march marked me going through the C25K program....it's a good feeling to…
  • Reset your weight. Make sure you lifestyle is correct for what you are doing (sedentary if your job has you sitting...active if your job has your moving). And then follow the calories that they recommend. Stick within 100 calories either way of the recommended intake. On a side note...try to stay somewhere close to the…
  • I am with you. The last few years I've been half heartedly trying...lose a few gain a few more. I'm 100% committed to doing this once and for all!
  • You don't have to give up anything. You have to learn moderation and figure out how to work your 'non-negotiable foods' (for you sweet tea) into your daily calorie budget!
  • GREAT JOB!
  • Sorry for the late report. I usually weigh in on Monday mornings...and on the weekends I simply use mfp app on my phone which I haven't figured out (I've looked) where I can get to groups on my phone...so here I am. 241.0 I am TICKLED! This is 11.8 pounds this month! :-)
  • I weigh in Sunday's and Mondays (for two different groups) So I will give you my Sunday weight if that is ok with you. :-) 246.00
  • Hi, I'm MaryFran. I'm 40 years old (yikes) and not kids. (do the 5 cats count). I at my highest was 315 pounds...lost down to where my doctor wanted me to be 180 pounds. Then life got the best of me and I regained. GRRR I'm no looking at re-losing 65 more pounds!

  • I would love to offer my support and receive yours. There is strength in numbers! Adding you!
  • Definitely! There may be a food out there that I'm missing that I could LOVE but just need to be introduced or reminded of it's existence!
  • I was in your shoes at one point. I had lost 125 pounds. I was down to 180 pounds. I tried EVERYTHING in my power to get below 180. I would dip down and be all excited but would pop right back to 180 pounds. I eventually did go to my doctor and talk to him to be tested. He looked at me and laughed when I cried to him about…
  • I have at least 70 to lose yet...........Overall, from my highest I've already lost 65 pounds. :-) It is possible. I had a set back and just restarted. But it is POSSIBLE!!!
  • I haven't found a way to do it on my phone....but the computer works wonderfully to add. :-)
  • Good luck! If you are looking for friends on here to help support....help celebrate....help motivate; then feel free to add me. I'm on here everyday. I've tried a lot. I've failed some, but I have a focus and a drive to succeed and I'm determined to reach my goals this year! The more people I have on my side…
  • I am by no means an expert. But in my experience it all depends on the person. I have a friend that eats a good many (at least half) of her earned calories and she loses well. I don't lose as well if I eat my earned calories. Each of us is totally unique.....play with it and figure out what works best for you! :-)
  • I'm trying to reinvent myself as an active person. Even at my worst in the past few years, I've exercised and been active a few hours a week. :-) I see the bike on your pic? Yours? I LOVE to bike and hope this year to segue from riding on the canal that is local here to riding more on the roads (I really need a road bike.…
  • Welcome to MFP. I've been a member for a while, but only recently recommitted to losing the weight...again. :-)
  • He still had to be incredible shape to even COMPLETE the tour de france all those times. He did what EVERYONE at that time was doing. They were not testing for that particular substance at that time, which is why he tested negative. I'm not saying it is right, but it is what everyone did.......like I said, it only…
  • Sorry to hear about the divorce. But YAY you for taking the initiative to better yourself in so many ways! :-)
  • I cook them like you said with a bit of sugar. But I throw together a sauce for over top, equal amounts brown sugar and sour cream. The bananas and sauce can stand on their own... but if I have the room in my food budget, I've then served it all with a dollop of ice cream. SCRUMPTIOUS.
  • I've worried about it. But there is nothing much that you can do about it. The things I've found.....moisturize your skin as much as possible and lose the weight slowly! Other than that it's genetics and honestly how much damage your skin has received. At this point, after 115 pounds lost, I don't care about the…

  • If you can do it, try to pay for at least one session with a personal trainer...so they can instruct you in how to use the machines and the proper techniques to use them...so that you can get the most out of them. In lieu of that, ask your gym if they have anyone that can show you how to use the machines. If all else…
  • Is it too late to join????? I'd love to do this!!!! MaryFran
