I have the built fat thing. I am curious to see what happens once (if) the fat can go away because frankly, I would take any of them without the fat (and not doing the powerlifting). Cheers!

WHOOPS! Forgot to say how great you look. You have made remarkable progress!! You ought to be extremely proud of yourself. Great Great Work!!!

Thank you!!! I can see my clothes fitting better, people tell me I have lost weight, and the F@#$%^&*&^%$ scale does not want to move much. Just seeing how someone else can change their body but not the scale really is a huge psychological boost. You did a great thing for a lot of people by putting that out there today.…

You look GREAT!! You should be justifiably PROUD!!! Cheers!

And did you all see that the Pats actually moved UP in the draft for a change. We usually try to get "value" which means we trade down and end up with mediocre players rather than potential studs. I am excited about this draft and eager to see the team next year. I think we just improved big time! GO PATRIOTS!!

I love that the AFC North beats the crap (to quote Doeyh) out of each other all season. Makes it easier for the Patriots to get through the playoffs. GO PATRIOTS!!! :-)

This is a great topic! Lots of helpful tips. Thanks! Mine is -- look at it as a lifestyle change and don't make yourself feel deprived or resentful because then you won't stick to it. So have A (ONE) bit of something bad, but don't eat the whole thing. And don't stress over one bad day; just be honest about it and then get…

No tats or piercings. Not really into them and never really understood piercings on guys, but I think I am just too old :-)

Almost 22 years in (anniv in June). Astonished that anyone would stay with me that long, but not complaining. :-)

You can always also have ice cream for dessert. YUM!! Good ice cream (like Ben and Jerry's) is hugely caloric and delicious. I can promise you that if I had that many bonus calories waiting for me at the end of the day, that is how I would spend them. And for the record, people here are ABSOLUTELY right. You are good to…

Thank you all!! Good to know I am not doing something to hinder myself by accident. I have been here for 25 days and have seen the scale move (a little) and have been able to tighten my belt by a notch, so I know it is working. I just wanted to make sure I am being smart about it. Thanks again! Cheers!

If you have asked him and he won't respond and now you are thinking about something on the side, it's time to get extra help. Go to a Pastor or a therapist before you do something that you can't take back. There are a gazillion and a half reasons, but he should be willing to talk about them for the sake of the marriage. If…

Two beagles we rescued 6 years ago, so they are now 10. Their names are Lucy and Shiloh (we did not pick the names). I wanted to name the dogs Darwin (his ship was the Beagle) and Fitz (because the captain of the Beagle was a guy named Fitzgibbon), but it turns out Shiloh is epilectic, so it is a good thing we did not…

46 and had to bury my metabolism about 11 years ago. It was a sad day. I still miss it! (before then, I just had to think about losing weight and I would be relatively thin again). Now, I just think about food and I am in trouble. But happy to friend anyone who is going to be supportive and fun. Cheers!

For what it is worth, I think that to some extent, we never outgrow some bad habits. So as little children, we push our parents to test limits and see what we can get away with. Similarly, if we are in a relationship where one person has all the power and the other just lets them get away with it, the first person will…

There is a reason that "rules" like half your age plus 7 exist. It's because they work. I would give yourself a bit of leeway and be willing to date guys who are 24, but no older (right now). The issue is life experience. They have likely been through college and their brains are more fully developed (this is not an…

I used to be a pretty good tennis player (got recruited to play at some colleges) and now can't serve because of rotator cuff issues. I also have to spend a half hour icing my whole arm when done hitting. But I realize that I can still play and move, just not like I used to and am grateful for that because it is such fun.…

Bruins!!! If the Red Sox hadn't choked so badly, could have been a banner (pun) year for Boston sports. Bruins won. Patriots lost in Super Bowl. Celtics looking good. Admit it -- y'all wish your teams could play like ours!!! :-)

Thank you for writing this. It is frustrating to be good all week, stick to calorie counts and exercise and NOT see the scale move (that week). We should all be taking a somewhat long term view. Cheers!

Depends on what kind of shape you are in. The heart is like any other muscle. It is good to push it a little IF (big IF) you can handle it. So please consult your Dr or someone who can advise YOU (given your specific needs right now). Otherwise, you will be getting generalized advice, some of which could be dangerous if…

I am also curious about if people are just watching the calorie count or all the other metrics as well? I have just focused on the calories and figure the rest will take care of itself. OH .. and I am 46 and open to adding anyone who is friendly and supportive. Thanks!

The only way to make it work is to COMMIT to talking EVERY day. You have to stay on top of the little things in each other's lives. That is not easy. And it works better when you have had months together first to build a level of trust and rapport. For what it is worth, I was in one for 3 years and then we got married and…

Well done. Good to know you see it as a long journey. We all need that perspective. Cheers!

Looking to add friends to support me and who I can support on here. I just joined. Thanks!

For what it is worth, working out releases endorphins which will make you feel better. Overindulging will just make you feel worse. So try to be proactive and do the things that will make you feel good in both the short and long term. My guess is that it will help you move on faster. Good luck!

The heart is like any other muscle. You can gain strength in it by pushing it a little at a time. So on your walks home, try jogging as far as you can or do a 10 second sprint. Then walk a minute and try another sprint. On another walk, jog further or sprint further or more often. You will find that over time, you build up…

Why can't you take the supplements with caffeine? I take a fish oil (the heavy duty one), a multi vitamin and D, but often take them after eating breakfast and with my coffee. Please explain. Thanks!

I am with you. It is hard to resist the call of the snacks when you are home all day. I find that I try to stay in parts of the house that are further from the food, and (now that the weather is getting nicer), I try to take the dogs on a long walk late in the afternoon, which is when I would otherwise be most likely to…
