  • Yay! October; it's quickly becoming my favorite month as the summer heat subsides and I am able to get outside more often. Therefore my goal for October is to get back to doing an activity/exercise 3 times a week instead of 1 or 2... Thanks Barbie for keeping this thread going strong. T-gal in Plano
  • Weight was not in my vocabulary in my 20's and 30's but come 40's it began to gradually grow so I've decided not to beat myself up when I am gradually losing. BUT it would sure be nice to have the energy of 20's & 30's
  • In October I will be starting my last year of fifties - where does the time go! I've been active on MFP for a little more than year and really enjoying the support found here.

  • Or he could go see a nutritionist who would be best qualified to assist him in foods to eat. If you want further ideas I would suggest looking online at Diabetic Living - it's a magazine with good advice, recipes, etc.
  • Happy Canada Day to all the ladies from that great country! It is exciting to see all the goals popping in for July. I am with @drkatiebug on this one. It seems like when I set a goal life happens then discouragement sets in. I too seem to do better tackling it one day at a time. This is a short stop as I am getting ready…
  • Good-bye June Hello July - I sure hope you are better than June. Weather-wise we will start out with unusually lower temps so that's a blessing. But will begin the month in the doctor's office for DH. Praying not to end the month there.
  • It's FRIDAY
  • I have only recently been able to hit below 100 numbers. Nutritionist told me to stay around 150 daily.
  • hi Charlotte, I would suggest to increase protein and stay away from starchy carbs like rice, bread, potato, pasta. I read that eating sugar increases the cravings for it. Not sure how true that is but perhaps that is why this one is so hard for us to kick. Moderation is the key unless you have a health reason to stay away…
  • I can't say that it has happened to me but I have read of others that claim that exercising raises their blood sugar. You might do well to test it for yourself my tracking before & after. It is good that you were able to bring it down so quickly. I haven't tried proteins to drop it down but it sure sounds like it worked…

Being careful what I eat too! Praying for remission, if not healing please dear Lord send remission.

  • hi Nancy, when I started someone told me that they open two windows of MFP - one to read the posts and one to write the comments. It works great. Only today I am not feeling so well and will be writing limited responses. I saw yours and wanted to share this tip with you. Lorraine, congratulations on losing that first ten -…

  • May goals, I haven't given too much thought on that one except to stay on-track with logging and activity. I've been going to the gym lately now that the weather is warmer. Not so warm today though with a record low in the 30's for Texas. This week I recorded my first loss over last week for 2013. I've been bouncing around…
