Microwave, low-fat butter popcorn. I prefer the organic or natural kind. Its between 100-120 calories a bag. I absolutely love nuts but they are too high calorie to make snacking on them satisfying :(

I know so many people who say they dont like skim milk because it tastes watery/ too thin to them but to me, Almond Milk is very thin/watery. I use skim milk for everything. if you are concerned about your protein levels you can add protein powder to your shake and drink it with whatever milk you prefer.

Why do you need to stop it? Are you eating way too much by the end of the night? I always need to eat a little something at night, too. I usually need to eat some type of snack between 8-9pm. I deliberately leave available calories for this. If you know you need to eat a bedtime snack, plan for it through out your day. If…

I dont understand the "im not a left over person". My sister is the same way and I really dont get it. Do you know how much simpler ( and how much more money you'd have the end of the month) if you just cooked at least one extra serving with your dinner for lunch the next day?

I dont do cheat days. I just plan out my days really well on special occasions. Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years---all those occasions revolved around one main meal. I just planned my other two meals really well, still ate my cake, cookies, or whatever other treats I wanted, I just didnt eat them in excess or…

I think the only way you can realistically figure out what your goal weight should be is during the process of actually losing weight. Body types are so different. I am 5'4, started at 180--size 10-12. Now I am 147 lbs and a size 6. When I first started I thought 135 was the ideal goal weight until I reached 150lbs and was…

out of curiosity, was it a cheeseburger you made yourself or a crappy fast food burger?

umm....sorry to disillusion you, but he doesnt love you. If he loved you he would love you no matter what you looked like. The way he makes you feel about yourself in no way makes him a wonderful man. To me, the way he tell you you are no attractive to him, he doesnt like your body, etc.... makes him the opposite of a…

I wish I defrosted chicken so I could try this tonight. I miss breaded chicken. I still eat it once in a while but the combination of bread crumbs and the amount of oil needed is just not worth the calories to me. I never used Panko bread crumbs before. Do you think it would work with regular bread crumbs?

I did this about 7 years ago and lost 10 lbs without even trying. The first thing I did was give up soda. My stomach felt so much better once I did that. ( i only drank diet soda so it wasn't the decrease in calories that spurred the weight loss). Then I read every label on every food I purchased. In the beginning it was a…

My coffee is about 10 calories a cup. I grew up with a diabetic sister so I never used real sugar. As an adult I cant stand pure sugar. I use 2 packets equal ( and for all of you who start an aspartame rant....soda is a hell of a lot worse for you ( i dont drink it) ) and i use about 1-2 tablespoons skim milk. I just…

I dont weigh myself that week. It just pisses me off. You already know you are gonna weigh more and you already know you behaved yourself foodwise so just skip it. I'd rather see a more accurate number on the scale when that time is over.

apples, a small cooler or even an insulated lunch box to keep some sandwhiches of your preference in, baby carrots, portion controlled pretzels measured out in tiny zip locked bags ( or any other dry snack of your liking already measured out) etc...

Is the liquid diet a requirement pre-op to lose 25 lbs or you just have to lose 25 lbs prior to surgery? I ask this because I know 3 people who had gastric bypass and 1 who had the lap-band. All 4 of them lost intial weight but then gained a lot of weight back. The reason for that was they never learned to eat properly to…

It's nice to hear someone experienced the same thing after upping their calories. Until you know that others went through the same it is a lot of guess work on whats happening. I actually just upped my fiber intake starting Monday. I noticed I wasnt get enough fiber when I was on 1200 calories because those foods were…

The number on the scale isnt as important when you reach a healthy weight range. I used to be a gym rat. Weight training and cardio 5 times a week. I wore size 8 clothing but as far as everyone elses eyes I looked like a size 4 because I was lean and tight I looked smaller. I have no idea what I weighed back then because I…

I suggest once a week. womens bodies are wonky-- water weight and any other miscellaneous random fluctuation in weight mid -week can drive you crazy. I tried weighing myself on different days and for some reason Wednesday or Thursday would show a slight weight gain but when I weighed myself again on Saturday morning i…

People will think whatever they want. You cant prevent that no matter what you look like. Just oncentrate on you. No one is going to say something horrible to you to make you feel bad. Once you get your butt in the gym you will notice that after a few times its not going to be as bad as you think. You are just freaking…

When I lost 9 lbs people started commenting on how much weight I lost. I think it was because it was most noticeable in my face so it made it obvious. By 15lbs I had dropped one clothing size which made a bid difference on my 5'4 body. Then the comments came flooding in.

Thanks AngelAmberL and KrickeyUU. What you said helps alot. I feel more comfortable about things from everyone elses responses, too.

You dont sound harsh or calloused, just lacking understanding of where I am coming from. Im honestly sick of being so restricted. I want to start to be able to eat more but I am scared to gain the weight back. The last 4 lbs made me feel like I have to keep eating 1200 calories til god knows when ( since the weight loss…

You said you are trying to maintain now...I was just wondering if the 1510 was suggested by MPF for your maintenance or if you are just easing into it by gradually raising your calories. I followed other posters advice and set my goal for .5 lb a week and it says my new calorie goal is 1460. I am a little scared to start…

Thanks for the comments everyone. Part knew it was time to "eat more to weigh less" at this point but it was one of those things that doesnt sink in until other people start saying the same thing. I will follow the other posters suggestion an up my calories to lose .5 lb a week. Before the thought of half a pound scared…

I havent done any strength training. I was going to start last week to try and jump start my body but holiday madness took up the free time. At this point I am starting next week ( ironically that has nothing to do with a new years resolution  ) I have dumbells, ab equipment, and an elliptical in my apartment. In…

I did adjust my calorie goal to my new weight the part that amazed me was that it upped my goal to only 1210 to lose 1lb a week.
