  • I don't know if it's a Canadian thing... but where I live 90% of the people I know don't tip. Mind you 90% of the wait staff I know make more than I do so... $2 an hour???? That's... how is that LEGAL? What a flawed system! Why should the customer be responsible for paying the companies staff!???
  • I am on Week 2 Day 6. HEH. I'll just keep doing Week 2's run until it feels more comfortable, right now I can BARELY make it through the minute/half run so I'm not willing to push harder. I'm having a lot of fun with this! Even if I'm not using the program 'properly', it feels really good! I've started shredding now on top…
  • I usually tell them I've been working hard. Then they usually ask ; How did you do it? So then I launch into the long explanation. :) But most people who've been asking me about the weight I've lost want to lose weight too.
  • For me Day 3 is done. Surprisingly I am less sore so far today but we'll see as the day goes on! Haha. I do NOT look forward to my run tonight (for once) but will push through! Also, my abs HATE this program. haha.
  • I've decided to do it everyday... Hey, I know Jillian is from Biggest Loser BUT I have to believe she wouldn't reccomend a workout routine that would cause serious injury. Plus I just completed day two's workout and I feel BETTER for having done it. :) Tired now. Bedtime. Haha. Bye girls! See you tomorrow!
  • Definitely stop weighing. Start taking your measurements once a month. I know that's even harder in a way because you have to wait SO long to see if there's results but happiness can't be found in your scale. Happiness is found in self control and personal strength! You CAN do this!
  • What's the old saying? It takes 5 days to form a habit and 3 to break it. Take a few days off if you need to but I'd warn against taking a whole week! The body is a fickle thing and you'll pay for that 7 day rest!
  • Maybe this is off topic? But did you ever see that show half ton teen? There was a 17 year old boy on there who was basically on death's door because he weighed so much. The only source to food he has was his mother and she NEVER said no. If his obesity kills him - even if it doesn't - this is CLEARLY abuse. If he dies…
  • I do agree on the multi-pronged approach. At this point most of this society is too caught up in (and frequently rewarded for) not taking personal responsibility that unfortunately the government DOES have to get involved. Although will government involvement make things worse and people more reliant on having their hands…
  • I heartily applaud this response! :) You said it far better then I did. Two thumbs up! :flowerforyou:
  • The length of the workout doesn't matter, it's how greatly are the muscles being taxed. And for us out of shapers our muscles are being taxed QUITE A BIT. At least if we push like Jillian tells us too. Haha.
  • I wonder if we shouldn't be doing this every OTHER day... Ladee! Let us know what your physiotherapist suggests. I'm going to listen to my body. I'll do the workout tonight and run tomorrow before doing the workout again. I'm starting to think on days I run I probably shouldn't shred... that's a lot of high impact exertion…
  • You can order the toy WITH a salad... Instead of banning these things maybe the county should focus on educating parents in helping their children resist and avoid marketing. After all they'll need to know how to say NO to marketing when they're older, why not start learning now?
  • Did you strap slip while you were running? Mine does that and when that happens the readings will be incorrect. ):
  • Yeah, I'm not sure it's the best policy. You might be going under your calories OR over, neither of which is very good. I wouldn't worry about starvation mode but I WOULD worry about the effects of eating too little. Eating too little can cause fatigue, sluggishness, crabbiness... etc. Do you really want to feel miserable…
  • I've been wondering about this myself BUT I haven't been able to find an answer. SO until I do I'll just plod through it. :)
  • Due to a technical difficulty I'm going to have to postpone my workout for the evening which makes me a wee bit nervous because I'm normally pretty beat at the end of the work day. BUT if I can run after work I can do this! Right? Haha. I hope so! Good work everyone! Day two is upon us and soon to be behind us!
  • I have no arm muscle and I'm using 3lb weights. I think the program will be more effective with weights but I think if you just can't manage that yet you can start with no weights and build up to using weights? I'm not Jillian though so I'm not sure. Haha.
  • There's SO much varying opinion on this. I think it just depends on YOUR body. I WAS running in the morning but discovered my body couldn't handle that so now I run at night. I CAN do strength training and light cardio in the morning on an empty stomach. It's recommended you have something like a smoothie or quick protein…
  • The program has three levels (stages). You do the first stage 10 days, the second stage 10 days and the last stage 10 days.
  • I'm not sure I'm going to be any help... anytime I've lost weight I've been left with 'skin bags' in key areas. People say; you're young. People say; stay hydrated. People say a lot of stuff that in the end doesn't matter because your body is going to do what its going to do and there's no REAL way to control it. I KNOW…
  • It's hard to view yourself objectively, especially after years of being overweight. I'm not sure what the best path to accepting your body is but I think the first step might be to learn not to care what people think. Wear clothes that fit AND are comfortable. Give yourself permission to show yourself off, even if you may…

  • The only way to log a workout like this properly is with a heart rate monitor, unfortunately... You CAN try entering strength training under Cardio but I don't think it'd be accurate since 30 day is cardio AND strength.
  • Just as a note I weigh 189 lbs, my heart rate was between 120-163 throughout the workout and I burned 200 calories. However, this won't help anyone else since we'll all burn at our own rate! But I thought I'd put that down as a point of reference. And Carly! JELLY LEGS SUCK. hahahaha. I'm walking like such a weirdo today,…
  • Good point. :) I think I have too much of a Weight Watchers mentality! HAHA. Personally I eat way too few vegetables to bother logging them but that number is going to be different for everyone.
  • I don't think you can burn MORE simply by digesting these foods but if you eat a bowl of lettuce for 7 calories and you BURN 50 calories per half hour just existing the two cancel each other out, wouldn't you think? Seriously, there are more polite ways to disagree with her post but whatever. Politeness is a dying art.
  • Are you drinking enough? Do you maybe have an allergy?
  • Polar F6. $90 on sale. I like it very, very much, AND it's waterproof which is awesome since I love swimming in the summer. I dislike that my wrist constantly presses the buttons and starts exercises. Haha. I wear my watch 24/7 and have many MANY exercises logged that burned 0 calories because I was just chilling at work…
  • Absolutely! We don't have chips or ice cream in our house anymore. The BEST way to resist temptation is to avoid it! "And lead us not into tempation but deliver us from cookies..."
