A year down the road when you're still steadily losing and she's back to old habits your family will see that your perceived 'stupidity' was wisdom. Don't throw pearls to the swine and just keep doing your thing! MAYBE, just maybe, they'll smarten up but even if they don't you gotta' take care of you.

Just thought I'd post an update for anyone who was curious (if anyone is curious). I've taken to running at the end of the day, after work and two hours after a meal... it hasn't made a difference. I still feel the same way after a run, but on the plus side I feel this way at the end of the day and I fall asleep pretty…

? Haha. That number is different for everyone. The 'simple' equation I was given once is your weight x 10. That is how much you need to eat every day to maintain whatever weight you are. To gain a pound you must eat 3500 more then what your body needs to maintain and to lose you must eat 3500 less. This isn't exact due to…

May I just add real quick that exercise alone isn't enough to lose weight but eating right alone is enough? Because I started out exercising five days a week for one hour and really kicking my own *kitten* but NOT watching what I ate and I lost zero pounds but the moment I added the watching what I ate element the pounds…

You can lose weight without exercise if you're very strict with your diet. Many MANY people have done it. AND you can do it without eating unhealthily on top of that, which is why MFP calculates your calories for the day BEFORE exercise, that way if you don't exercise you're still losing. So, do what you need to do. :)…

To those who have commented already: The question wasn't SHOULD you eat. The question was DO you eat. I do the math. If not eating them won't put me under 1200 calories consumed for the day then I don't eat them. If eating them keeps me from going below 1200 calories consumed then I eat them. I don't think it has made that…

As a morning pickmeup might I suggest peppermint tea? Good stuff and probably better for you then diet soda! Here's the thing, if you want to give up a habit you have to replace the 'bad' habit with a new 'good' habit. So find something you like just as much and that makes you feel as good to replace the diet soda. I've…

GmG: People with no tolerance for others. MmD: I work alone for 70% of my work day. :) That makes me indescribably happy.

Thanks for sharing hon.

Depends where I go. I round it off to 2000 because different equations give me a different daily maximum. :) But MFP puts me at 2090 per day, yes. Technically I think it's more like 1920 but that's using a different weight loss equation so... it's alll good.

Already included that dear. :)

Because the math was so bad? haha. I am not good at math but this was pretty basic so I decided to go for it!

I weigh everyday just because I'm an addict. ): Plus I keep checking to make sure I really AM 192! It's kind of hard to process. On the plus side when the numbers fluctuate up I just shrug it off. I do NOT check in every day. My official check in day outside the net is Saturday. Whatever number I got on Saturday I just…

MFP's default setting is to not encourage people to eat less than 1200 so it gives you a heads up when you're logging less then the recommended daily healthy amount. :)

Sniffles = You'd think it means I'm a cry baby... which I can be *WAAAAAH*. ;) But really it's just dedicated to my favorite cartoon character. That's all. Quite boring actually.

Kerrilucko - how weird that I read your comments after three days of clear urine. :\ I have a cold right now and couldn't figure out how my urine could be clear since I was only drinking very minimally (drinking hurts my throat). Anyway... now I'm keeping a closer eye on things. If it continues I will talk to my doctor.…

I'm going to 'weigh in' too. Are you losing weight to lose weight? Or do you want to change your entire lifestyle so you don't put it back on? I'd suggest GRADUALLY weaning yourself off foods you KNOW are unhealthy. Say this coming week you decide to cut back on chocolate (one snickers a week instead of one a night?) or…

Inches come off more slowly then lbs. If the last time you measured was last week then your measurements aren't likely to have changed. Try measuring inches once a month instead of once a week. I know that's hard but unfortunately it's just one of those things.

I have one cat and my roommate has one. My cat's name is Selene and she's an obssessive cuddly calico. She's shy of strangers but extra-loving towards people she knows. She's also possessive so hates it when the other cat (Skye) gets attention. My favorite thing to do with her is to nap... I know, lame. But we lay on the…

Grinds my Gears: My sore throat. ): It woke me up and it made it hard to eat solids today. Made my Day: My boss sent me to buy a 12 pack of beer. HAHA. That always amuses the heck out of me. Especially when clients catch me 'sneaking' in with the pack of Canadian! Haha.

You can't gain muscle without actually eating more, if my sources are correct. So basically I agree with mcl1014.

1. See your doctor. Tell him about your plan to run the 5k and about the issue during your last run. I know no doctors have been able to diagnose what the problem is but this is important. 2. I would go for the race anyway if your doctor clears it. Take it slow... do walking/running intervals if you have to. I'm sure no…

Basically my doctor recommended I take a multivitamin as long as I was on a calorie restricted diet just because he didn't believe it was possible to eat all the necessary vitamins on a restricted diet. I took his suggestion and I feel almost 50% improved after the first few days. As soon as I'm on maintenance calories I…

I read an article that claimed your body gets just as much water as it needs from the foods we eat, which is good because I've NEVER been a big drinker. I have MAYBE 3-4 glasses of liquid a day (including water, diet 7-up and green tea). While I know this isn't ideal it works for me and I never feel hunger or thirst so...…

Yeah, it was just misplaced, compounded annoyance. Haha. I need to be more careful about what threads I read. :)

I suppose it's all about the definition of 'healthy' and 'unhealthy'. I just came from another post of elitist babbling about 'unhealthy eating' (which was a load of crap in my opinion) to this one and was feeling quite cranky so yeah I took offense but I know that's not the intent.

"I can only speak for myself but as to that, I am worried that we will start drawing the wrong kind of person to this forum" Who decided what the wrong kind of person is? Furthermore who decided myfitnesspal is primarily for healthy weight loss/lifestyle? When I joined up my primary concern was weight loss... and in a…

You are in the twilight zone. But it's okay, it's a good place to be healthy. :)
