  • My number two just turned 13 months. I am 6 pounds below my pre pregnancy weight, which is in my happy weight range. I work outside the home 2-3 days a week and run as my main exercise with some yoga, strength and bootcamp. My girls also keep me busy with trips to the park and lots of play time. Feel free to add me!
  • Oh my goodness - so many new faces on this board! I am definitely out of touch, but know several of you are getting close to joining us on the Still Fit and Fabulous after Baby board - it moves much slower!! Denise, wanted to encourage you with the breastfeeding. As I've said before, it is very challenging in the…
  • Happy New Year Gals! I'm still hanging at 151 and would really like to see 144 give or take. I've been doing well with getting in my four runs a week, but need to step up the strength and toning exercises. You'd think that would be the easier part with an infant, but I seem to struggle to get it in some days. We just…
  • Nichole, congratulations again. Hannah is adorable! Thank you for sharing your story. I too, had to give into the c-section as Ellie had the cord wrapped up, over and around her shoulder, which led her to have three late decelerations and had my doctor worried about her safety. I felt very defeated, but got all I really…
  • "Step away from the cookies and confections!" I feel like the police need to be telling me that after the past week. Like everyone else, I indulged while staying at my parents' house. To be honest, it felt a little liberating to just not care for a week! The good news is that even with all the sugar I poured into my body…
  • Danielle, I have been running in colder temperatures. Can't remember where you are in the country, so your idea of cold might be different than mine! I'm in Seattle and we've had some 28 -35 degree mornings and I have taken Ellie with me on my runs. I bought her a great, really warm fleece full body suit from REI. I put…
  • Hi fit, fabulous mamas! Five hour drive, one mountain pass and we are safely at my parent's house. No run for me today :-( but I should be able to go tomorrow. Lots of help with Ellie for the next week! Heather, my larger than life breasts (husband lovingly refers to the "jug juice") are manageable with two good sports…
  • Good Evening Ladies, Okay, don't know who I was kidding about trying to run six miles Friday morning! I had a 10a appointment and Ellie doesn't wake up until around 7a and usually nurses for a good 40-45 minutes so when I started thinking about it there was no way I could do a longer run, get a shower in and still make it…
  • Darn hormones! Heather you have me tearing up ~ sometime the good Lord works in mysterious ways. Curious if you've tried bouncing on an exercise ball with Charlee when she's fussy? It works pretty great for most babies. You're doing awesome with a four week old - try not to be too hard on yourself about the workouts, it…
  • Danielle, I am exclusively breastfeeding as well. Doing the same thing as Amy - eating an additional 500 calories and eating my workout calories. I will be returning to work in January so have been doing at least one bottle feeding a day and pumping 2-3x day(I pump when I give a bottle and always wake up once at night to…
  • Hey Danielle! Tyson is such a cutie!!!! Welcome back ;-)
  • Hi Ladies, Hope everyone is doing well. Amy is killing the Lindsay Brin workouts - way to rock it mama! You are really inspiring me to maybe try it out..... Lexi, yay! Good to see you and glad to hear you are doing well. Awesome work with the exercise and weight loss. Happy you are on winter break and getting to be with…
  • Good morning mamas! I agree with you Heather, this board is much more my speed these days!! I've learned some great "digestion" moves in Ellie's Itsy Bitsy Yoga class that seem to work great for her. I Googled to see if there are any classes in Missouri and Springfield is the location that it pulled up - no idea if that…
  • Heather, love the photo, sorry about the tough night. Thought of another great protein - quinoa! Try to get some rest!
  • Good evening ladies! Heather, here are some protein ideas for you - almonds, pistachios, peanuts (peanut butter), pine nuts, tuna, eggs, how about soy? I love Boca burgers and Kashi products. Have you tried goat yogurt? Also lots of seafood options with great protein. You were 10 weeks behind me, so Charlee should be…
  • I have a BOB Revolution. I think it was $450 or so. I absolutely love it! I've been a runner for 10+ years, ran throughout my entire pregnancy and now run with my daughter (currently using the car seat adapter). The BOB is incredibly agile and easy to run with.
  • Melissa, excited to see you again! Congratulations on Amelia Joy, she's beautiful! I don't have any great advice on the diaper rash, but wonder if it could be yeast? I thought Ellie had a rash in the first few weeks and my sister looked at it and said "looks yeasty to me". Now my brain is having a hard time remembering…
  • Cindy, Ash, Ashley and Nichole - looking forward to you all joining us! Today will be a four mile run for Ellie and I and a walk with the dogs. Then we head to our annual Girls Shopping Weekend, which my mom and her girlfriends started over 20 years ago. It's just time for catching up, Christmas shopping and enjoying the…
  • Oh and forgot to mention in my plan to reach my goals - healthy, clean eating (80-85% of the time - you have to live a little!) I am a firm believer that what you put in your body has a huge affect on how you feel. When I fuel my body with nutritious, whole foods I have tons of energy and feel great. When I eat too much…

  • Kristy, there is absolutely nothing I can say that will help to ease the pain and grief you are feeling. Please know I have you, your baby and family in my prayers. Wishing you all peace as you come to terms with your loss. Heather, glad you and Charlee are getting in a groove. Ellie will be 12 weeks on Wednesday and I can…
  • Oh my, after being gone for a week I am sooooo behind! Rather than try to catch up, I will just let you know what we've been up to and then get back in sync. Ellie had her two month check up about a week and a half ago, she is in the 95th percentile for both height and weight, which makes me happy to know she is getting…
  • Hey ladies! I had a successful week with exercise and nutrition goals last week. I've had to make some adjustments for this week due to traveling. I did get in two runs (four miles each) and two nice 40-45 minute walks with my four leg girls. I don't anticipate doing any more cardio for the week, but should be able to…
  • ahhh...AmyR....there are no words. I will be praying for you and your family. xoxoxo, Holly
  • Taldie, I didn't think you were being critical at all! Just wanted to let you know that I was being safe ;-) Happy running to you too! Ash, glad the perspective helped a little, I still think you are going to look fantastic for the wedding! Praying that your energy returns soon! Nichole, I am all too familiar with leash…
  • taldie, I have a BOB stroller that I am currently using with the infant seat adapter. Ellie is in her car seat and then hooked onto the stroller. She is very well supported and I have my pediatrician's blessing to be running with her. Trust me, I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't think she was safe! If I did not have the…
  • carly, I ran my entire pregnancy. In the beginning I didn't adjust at all and ran four days a week, maybe 15-18 miles a week. As I progressed I eventually cut back to three runs a week, but was still doing 10 miles a week all the way until my daughter was born. My pace slowed considerably and I definitely felt like a slug!…
  • Welcome to all the new faces! You have found a fantastic group of supportive women that are committed to taking care of themselves and their growing babies with healthy nutrition and exercise. It's an active board, which makes sense with such active ladies! Ellie and I got in a three mile run this morning. It was 33…
  • Happy Halloween! I did manage to get my three runs this past week, but only walked the dogs five days instead of seven. This morning we had a three mile run and a 40 minute walk with the dogs. Still need to get in my ab work and arms, hopefully when Ellie goes to bed tonight. Goals for this week - three runs and 5-7 days…
  • Happy Saturday to my fit, fabulous friends! I've met my goals so far this week - walking 45 minutes daily and two easy runs. Yesterday I took Ellie and let me tell you, it's a lot more work to push her too! She did great and I look forward to having that continued bonding time with her. I've also done some strength…
