  • I'd kind of slowly start adding calories and see where your maintenance level is. You may slowly lose while you are doing this, but you should eventually find where you break even. That's my plan for when I hit goal anyway.
  • Ya I'd say that's too low! Like you said, you are not overweight at all. Do some more research in a good calorie level for you needs! As far as the videos, from my understanding they are not only cardio so it might be more beneficial for your goals than simply running!
  • There's a saying (popular) "Abs are made in the kitchen". Not saying you want abs, but the only way to decrease belly fat is to lose fat period, which is diet based. Your body decides where to take fat from, there's no way to spot reduce. You don't have to lose weight, but you do have to lose fat to accomplush losing belly…
  • I weigh daily. It's not for everyone. I don't allow the scale to dictate how I feel for the day, or let it derail me if it says something I don't like. I know my body's normal daily, and monthly, fluctuations, and it doesn't bother me. The only time in my life I've gained weight was when I wasn't weighing myself because I…
  • Is it a huge goal? Yes. Can it be done? Yes. It depends on many things of course, one of them being how much you actually have to lose, how hard you are willing to work, and if the scale is willing to cooperate. I lost from 220 pounds March 22nd down to 160 pounds by September 27th. 220 wasn't my highest weight, and 160…
  • Boredom eating isn't binge eating. They are 2 different things. Boredom eating is kind of mindless and happens because, well, because you're bored. Binge eating is specifically eating quite a lot of food (the amount itself varies from person to person) in an uncontrollable manner.
  • It's about calorie deficit. You can lose weight on diet alone. Exercise is good for fitness.
  • I never had artificial sweetener until I started losing weight and replacing real sugar (calories) with it. I was always under the impression I was fat because of the crap ton of food I ate coupled with my sedentary lifestyle. Not saying artificial sweeteners are the best thing to put in your body, but I DEFINITELY think…
  • Weight loss changes: Confidence (sometimes), self esteem (sometimes), and body size (all the time). That's about it. Every other thing that is there now will be there when you are thin. If it is simply your body that you are unhappy with, then I suppose YES you will be happier. If there are other things (there almost…
  • Over training can definitely cause issues with sleeping! I've personally experienced it. Your diet could also be causing it, or it could be a combo of the diet and exercise. Can't see your diary so no way to tell for sure.
  • You've succeeded before, you KNOW what you need to do. If it's a matter of structure, maybe start off following a specific diet plan (like South Beach or The Zone, or whatever else is out there). It's hard to give advice on what exactly you should do, because different things work for different people. I've gone through…
  • I'm not sure I understand your question. Do you mean that your body felt as if food was needed even though you just ate and had no appetite? It could have been WHAT you ate. Or maybe your blood sugar crashed and you just didn't recover. Maybe dehydrated. Maybe electrolytes off balance. Very hard to say. I wouldn't worry…
  • If everything else would have been the same in your diet except for the diet soda, I would think you had something there. But you ate out, that right there may have done it, sans diet soda. Like the others said, anyway it goes, it is probably mostly water weight (unless you really really over did it at lunch) and has…
  • Wow, seriously? They just opened one by my house, I was thinking of taking a look -- not a chance now!
  • IMO if it fits in your calories, and it's not a trigger for over eating, eat whatever you want!
  • My thoughts are that no workouts are needed for weight loss, much less TWO a day. Like you said, 6 pounds in one week is probably a lot of water weight. There's no way to sustain that kind of loss. Over-exercising can be detrimental to weight loss (well, in my experience anyway). Sounds like you are doing great! The only…
  • I can't view your diary. I'm not sure what the issue could be if you are eating at that calorie level. Have all health issues (thyroid etc.) been ruled out? Are you on any medication? Are you very accurate with your tracking? Weighing portions, recording EVERY bite?
  • If you search "weight training" "weight lifting" or "strength training" under cardio you can log the minutes there.
  • If you are certain it isn't emotional, it could be the food you are eating. Sugar, and especially sugar/fat combo foods are addicting. If you can, try and stay away from processed foods, fast food, restaurant food, for a while (not forever certainly). It may take the triggers away and help you in keeping from undoing all…
  • I'm pretty darn sick of boneless, skinless, chicken breasts.
  • Thank you all so much. I've gotten so much inspiration from seeing progress pics here on MFP I wanted to share the love!
  • If this is interfering with your life, you should look into getting help. Getting to a certain weight will not make these thoughts go away, nor will it make you feel any differently about who you are. It sounds as if your self image and your body image are very intertwined. I wish you the best of luck, and I hope you can…
  • Great job! The important thing is that YOU know you haven't missed a day!
  • Tell the closest person to it to slap you if you try and take any! :)
  • By time frame, I meant how long you have been working at losing weight so far.
  • First off, congratulations! You are doing fabulously! I cried this morning actually! I am now a "normal" weight. I started out with a BMI over 35, so I was in the obese II category. To go from that to normal was just very emotional!
  • My best advice is to keep trying and find out what works for you! And log everything, even on "cheat days". I've gone through so many different phases on this journey, trying out different foods, different macros, different calorie levels, having cheat days, cheat meals, not having any cheats. I still don't know what works…
  • If you are intaking more calories than you are burning off then it won't offset it. Exercise is great! BUT it's the nutrition that is the most important for weight loss.
  • The math is fine, but it's not reality! You will drive yourself insane if you look at the math and how much you are "supposed" to lose. What is the time frame we are looking at here? Your diary isn't public, so without knowing the time frame and what your diet looks like it's hard to give advice.
