There are countless core and ab exercises besides sit ups.

True can still be ridiculous. And this is truly ridiculous. :flowerforyou:

Strengthening your core is important whether you have fat to lose on your belly or are on the verge of a six pack. I don't think any muscle group should be ignored, especially one as important as the CORE.

I have it. It's fun. I wouldn't consider it much more than a very low intensity fun way to get a bit more exercise in, for myself anyway. We got it as a gift. I'm not sure that I would have gone out and spent the money on it.

I'm pretty sure yes. I'm not sure. Probably, plus your muscles will fall off! Seriously though, have it when you want it!
-
I'd say so. You are, in fact, lifting your own weight doing body weight training.
-
Were you well hydrated when you started the workout? Drinking water during a workout is great for replacing the fluids you are losing due to sweat, but if you go in under hydrated it won't help very much. That being said, you just may be intolerant of that kind of heat while exercising, and in that case the earlier class…

HA! I have definitely done this. But only when the scale is being an *kitten*

For the most part, I'd say yes, we are talking about very similar things.

Muscle doesn't build that fast. My best guess, for it to be noticable to the eye, would be 8 weeks, maybe more depending on your current body fat %. To see it on the scale...that depends on if you are losing fat as well. I would doubt that you would see a noticable difference on the scale for muscle gain with 30DS.

Daily here. Fluctuations from day to day are normal, so it doesn't drive me nuts when I'm up one day, down another, up the next, and so on. When I don't weigh myself, that's typically when I get off track. It's definitely a personal thing though.

This exactly. The guy at the running store who fitted me for mine told me that exact thing about the feet swelling and the shoe needing room for this. Different shoes for different gaits. It's so worth it to go get a pro to suggest shoes.

Get her email address if you don't already have it and send her an amazon "gift card". This way you don't have to give it in the club so you don't have to worry about her getting in trouble.

Sexy. I never feel sexier than when I'm dripping sweat in the gym.

MFP calculates my elliptical calories burned way higher than my HRM. The machine is closer to my HRM than MFP. If that helps any.

I agree. And different shoes for different things. I actually just went yesterday and got a great pair. I got them for running. He specifically told me that they aren't meant for lateral movement (mentioned Zumba specifically) so to wear my other tennies if I did something like that. If anything, go to one of those stores,…

While you do need time for recovery, 4 or 5 times a week would probably be fine as long as you are not doing same muscles back to back days.
-
The term "jogging" reminds me of the 80s and track suits. I'm a runner, no matter how slow I go, no matter how short a distance I run.

No, not pointless! I'm 5'6" and now 196. I've been lifting 4 weeks now, and I have seen more of a positive difference in my body the last 4 weeks than ever! I started at 236, and started lifting at 205. I don't see how it would ever make you look foul! Weight training on a deficit when you have excess body fat is different…

As long as what you input in your HRM is accurate, I would say that is closer to what you actually burned than what MFP assumes. MFP's calcs do not take into consideration what your actual heart rate was while doing the exercise. Whenever I wear my HRM to the gym I get a very different number than what MFP says. If I do…

Burpees, jumping lunges, jump squats, mountain climbers. And YOGA! I hate jumping or stretching in any form.

I love this thread. I decided I want to do a half in January. Makes me feel exited for it instead of scared, reading all of your replies. The plan is to do the full the following year. I know I'm not conditioned enough now to aim for the full in January, I don't want to set myself up to fail. But I'm fully confident I can…

Your food diary is private so it's hard to say what could be going on. I'd guess, from what info you did give, that you are either eating too little, or too much, since you are exercising a lot. How tall are you btw?
-
If you are losing inches and you are losing weight, you are losing body fat. Those equations cannot be completely accurate.
-
I counted cals then stopped and when I started again I can't tell you how much more consistently I'm losing weight. And now I KNOW if the scale goes up not to sweat it because I can count on the fact that it must be water weight since I am certain my intake is in deficit. Also I agree on the measurements. In April I lost…

LOL! I actually really like it. I season it well though; garlic, salt, and pepper. If it's plain or just with butter I find it rather disappointing as well.

This is what I did as well.

After 9 years of gall bladder attacks (I had no idea that's what I was experiencing for all those years), I went to the doctor and told them about the pain I had. I also had an ultrasound and had "many many" gall stones and was told I had to get my gall bladder removed. While awaiting the surgery to be scheduled I had the…
