My resting metabolic rate is about 2300 calories per day so my caloric goal is 1800. Five hundred less is sufficient to lose a pound a week which is all I want to do. I'm not on a diet - I've been on lots of those. That's how I got to be this weight in the first place! I'm on a lifestyle change and it's working for me.

Light weights, short rest with more reps and sets for a better pump and less injury as well as higher caloric expenditure.
