Maybe it's extended over the even smaller battery? :p

Yup. It should fit perfectly on my Madone with Sram Force. Hopefully they will also sell upgrade kits so that I don't have to buy the brakes or crankset.

There's nothing like riding with a group at night though. Looks like a travelling UFO light show. Most car slow down due to total confusion. :D The problem is usually with cars approaching from behind, so REALLY bright blinking lights in different locations are the most visible. Seems like you have that covered.

My wife has had 2 major back surgeries and now has a total of 5 consecutively fused lumbar vertebrae. She got back on the bike after both and doesn't seem to have suffered any ill effects from it. Hoping that you have the same results.

Hi, I'm Larry. I live just north of Philadelphia. I started riding again about 20 years ago and fell back in love with it. Some years are good and I can get over 2,000 miles and some are lean due to work or injury. My best was 3,600 miles, but this year due to work I only have about 600 so far. I usually ride with a club…

Unless you are hyper-critical about the way your brakes feel, if they are BB7s, I'd throw the Avids on and forget about it. I have a set that I put on an older Cannondale F5 MTB and with good cables they are about as smooth as hydraulics and every bit as powerful. Run the organic pads if you don't want any brake noise.

How much is not having saddle sores worth to you? If I had that problem, I'd pay $200 in a heartbeat. That said, having the right saddle is the key. Everyone's body is different and what works for some does not work for others. Experimentation is the key.

How did you manage to walk around there with a woodie?

Another vote for the Conti 4000s2. I run 25s and they are every bit as fast as the 23s and much more comfortable.

Ambler -about 1/2 hour north of Philly.

To my knowledge, there is be no difference in spacing between a 10 speed road or 10 speed mountain Shimano cassette. The XT should work fine.
-
I think that you under-rate us. The tires humming, the chain quietly clicking along, the pedals turning over as smooth as silk. I get that completely.
-
I don't have to hear them. They'll hear me! :D Actually I have a small Bluetooth speaker that I will occasionally ride with.
-
Why don't you use a SRAM cassette? They make an 11-32 and an 11-36, both in a10 speed cassette (PG-1030), and the spacing is the same a Shimano.

It's all that power! At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Thanks for posting that. It certainly brighten up my morning.

A few years ago my son and I were riding up a country road when a very large turkey (and I mean huge) appeared and decided to pace us up the climb. He didn't seem particularly threating, but more curious. He ambled along about 20 feet behind us for at least a 1/4 mile and when we stopped to get a better look at him, he…

I keep it fairly simple and use a smaller sized bag on each bike. In them I have: 1 tube 1 tube patch kit (could get more than one flat) 1 tire patch strip (to fix a gash in the tire) Bicycle multi-tool with a built-in chain breaker and tire lever Missing link chain coupler 2 CO2 cartridges with canister OR a Topeak road…

I remember test riding one of those back then. It was really nice, but I went for an Aluminum Klein Quantum II with a carbon fork (just the opposite).

My Madone 6.9 is not happy about this! :/ Looks really cool though. Have to check them out when they come around to my LBS.

Nice find. Probably a little TMI for me. I just want to get & go.

Could your picture be any bigger? ;)

The things we did in our youth. :D

It lets me ride hard with my wife without dropping her  I did ride as a stoker with a friend once. He was/is the strongest rider in our club and it certainly was interesting. Dropped the AX riders on the flats with ease.

A pic of our daVinci Tandem. Can't wait to get it back out again this spring.

*kitten* savers for the Women's cycling team? I don't even want to know.

My wife has an FX that she rode for years before getting a true road bike. They are well built and you should have no problems with durability as long as you are not pounding it over rocks and roots. If I remember correctly, you should have clearance for up to 38 mm tires, and that's what I would recommend for the trails.

If you want a dual purpose pedal, then get the Shimano A530s. We have them on our cruising bikes and they work very well.
