I took my dog out twice today for a total of 1 hour and 50 minutes.

I started walking in August to help improve my health after going through chemo earlier this year for leukemia. I've let my gym membership lapse but I make a point of taking my dog out for a walk every day, sometimes twice! When I started we walked for 30 minutes, now we're up to talking between 60-90 minutes per day…

Sad to see this list growing, I hope everyone is doing well. I had my follow-up results from my chemo for CLL and had great news, no evidence of the CLL in my latest bone marrow biopsy. Wishing everyone currently in treatment well, stay strong, be kind to yourselves

Totally in, looking forward to this challenge!

I think I heard somewhere that you take 220 - your age = maximum heart rate to achieve when exercising. Has anyone else heard this?
-
it's great to be wrong!!! congratulations, keep up the good work.

I've done both but totally prefer the classes. I found I stick to it more once I've made a commitment to show up for something rather than making excuses about doing something later at home. You burn a lot of calories doing zumba, its great cardio, good for your core and a fun way to meet new people. When you do try a…

love body pump, used to do it twice a week and definitely felt challenged!

When I went through chemo I initially was so nauseated I lost weight but my doctor prescribed more (I ended up on 3) meds to combat the nausea which increased my appetite. Combine that with a picc line and limited activity and unfortunately I ended up gaining almost 20 pounds over 7 months. Are you able to keep active even…

you look great! keep up the good work.

Don't minimize how great it was that you exercised by saying you only burned ___ calories. YOU EXERCISED! that's awesome.

Prior to my diagnosis I liked to think of myself as pretty healthy, exercised 5-6 times a week and had been gluten free by choice for about 7 months. When I started treatment I lost weight the first round because of nausea so my Doctor ended up prescribing 3 different anti nausea meds which made me want to eat pretty much…

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, diagnosed January 2013, completed 6 rounds of treatment end of June, going for bone marrow biopsy early October to see how successful treatment was.

champion sports bra's are great, lots of support and little bouncing. they have cup sizes for curvy women unlike alot of other sports bra's. the ones I bought were $50/each but they're worth it

I've never had a problem drinking 8-10 glasses of water each day. However after taking my son to the dentist yesterday my only advice on substituting green tea is make sure you brush your teeth several times a day, he was drinking several cups of green tea every day and they asked him if he was a smoker with all the…

LOL - Yoovie! I also have a shock absorber bra and like it alot but I find the Moving Comfort bra's to be more comfortable and also more affordable. I reduce the impact in group exercise classes instead of jumping jacks do a modified squat stepping out one leg while doing the same arms as everyone else. Jogging on the spot…

Slow and steady, I've been adding walking to my post body pump work out for a cool down.

Look for foods that are high in fibre like the raspberries, apples, celery etc and make sure to drink lots of water to keep your body hydrated. Good luck, I know that isn't fun.
-
Just took a quick look at your diary, I agree with reducing the snacks but more importantly why are you taking all that metamucil? sometimes even twice a day?? this is not good for your body. Why don't you try substituting raspberries, they're very high in fibre and low in calories and good for you. Starving your body of…

First day walked 2 km's after Body Pump class for cool down.

Another newbie here, will try a combination of walking/jogging to get to 50 kms.

My starting weight last June using another program was 246, I'm now down to 213.5. It's not been an easy road, take a look at what your doing and see if you can implement a few small changes to your day. I had been stuck @ 220 for a long time, I'm an emotional eater and turn to breads, crackers, baked chips whatever was at…

I've been trying to get back into jogging on my own for the last few weeks, it's a tough go, I'm hoping joining this group will help keep me motivated.
