  • Congrats man...sounds similar to me. I went from 220 to 167 in a similar amount of time. Bet you feel amazing!
  • Check out bodybuilding.com I use Elite Dymatize pure protein isolate For bars I've tried quest and they're good I also have tried doctor's carbrite, pure protein, and a few others
  • It depends what your goals are. If your goal is to drop lbs you'd probably want to be around 1400-1700 calories a day. You kind of have to play around with the nutrition for a few weeks to see what works. You want to fuel your workouts and 1200 may be a little low.
  • P90X is a 6 day workout program with stretching on your 7th day(optional) which is your rest day. I wouldn't run as much. You may want to cut it down to 2 days a week. Or you could skip the cardio days and do your run, but I would not double up on your workouts. Gaining/Losing weight is all related to diet, so it would…
  • What the others have said. Nail the nutrition and the workout doesn't matter as much. You cannot outwork a poor diet. If you eat right and do Insanity your results will be more than you ever expected. What does a good day nutrition wise look to you? Figure that out & repeat with subtle changes.
  • Personally I would check out bodybuilding.com then. This may be a little too simplistic since you lifted in the past, but check out this routine. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/new-year-start-here-7-day-beginner-trainer.html Or maybe this one once you become comfortable with the equipment and various lifts…
  • Where do you expect to be doing your weight training? At a gym or at home? If at a gym which gym? If at home what equipment do you already have?
  • Can we BOLD make sure to take a good before picture!! I was too embarrassed of how fat I was to take any starting pictures. I have pictures from various vacations, but wish I would have had true day 1 photos
  • Not hot and hated my picture being taken!! This was taken in San Diego Oct 2012 Feeling much better about myself and love my picture to be taken now!! This picture was taken June 2013 in Seattle.
  • Hey man...I kind of did the p90x 2nd phase diet plan. I ate around 2500 calories with 40% protein, 40% carbs, and 20% fat. I'm eating around 3000 calories now with 30% protein, 40% carbs, and 20% fat. If you have a lot of fat to lose you would probably want to stick to around 2000 calories with 40-50% protein, 30-40%…
  • Stick to that diet and keep at it. I thought the same thing when I saw other people. Hopefully you'll blow me away and inspire some others along the way!
  • So I did not plan on posting anything additional, but I'm super excited!!! I made bodybuilding.coms weekly feature of we 'mirin volume 33 http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/we-mirin-volume-33-16-superb-transformations.html
  • I'm doing body beast with my wife. We are in the 4th week. I had previously completed a p90x/insanity hybrid and 1 round of body beast myself. Glad she's coming along for the ride, but it can be a hassle at times because I need to wake her up and then make sure she comes downstairs. She is doing awesome and it is…
  • I don't think it would be considered "heavy" in the sense some people refer to on here. It is certainly resistance training and you can get those sculpted muscles doing body pump just like you could with other methods.
  • If you are doing back to back cardio type videos then that would be OK. If you are doing resistance type exercises and doing upper body in 1 video and lower body in the next I'd do the warmup/cool down for both.
  • Why don't you want to workout while on vacation?
  • Thanks!! The difference in how I feel doing even the little things is unreal too.
  • Thanks though some people may have liked overweight hairy guys!! Too bad for them
  • Thanks!! Looks like you're in better shape than I was when I started P90X. What do you think of YogaX? I like core synergistics which you do during the active rest weeks.
  • Nope nobody has ever said that, but only people familiar with beachbody would notice and none of my friends are that into these workout programs like I am. My friends will say body bump and mean body beast and some say xp90 and I don't even think they know the same company produces the products. I think they just like to…
  • Wow congrats to you for working out!! I thought I had it hard with a pilonidal cyst which was my "excuse". Some people have a lot better excuses than I had, but one thing we have in common is we had enough of making excuses and we are going to achieve our fitness goals. Not sure what you do workout wise, but I have quite a…
  • Keep at it!! I found numerous sources of motivation to keep going initially. Hopefully you stick with it and help someone someday.
  • Whats stopping you???? : )
  • I know sometimes these programs get a bad rap because of certain folks on this msg board which is why I was extremely hesitant in posting anything, but my pictures speak for themselves. P90X was awesome and it really made me think differently about fitness & nutrition and it is a solid base. It changed my thinking,…
  • Thanks so much!! I just finished up week 2 of the start of my 2nd rd of Body Beast, but this time my wife has joined in!! Its not a 90 day program anymore its an every day for the rest of my life program.
  • Thanks. Looks like you've had quite the change as well. I'm sure you'll say the workout does not matter as much as fixing your diet does. You can do any workout you want, but if you don't change up that diet you aren't going to change too much.
  • Good for you. No doubles for me though!! Maybe once or twice a month I'll do doubles which generally includes running, but I don't normally double up beachbody workouts.
  • Now if we could just get more people to think this way and stop looking for the magic pill.
  • Good question. The simple answer is I was lazy and didn't feel like working out and I didn't care about my body, so eating a nutritious diet didn't matter to me and I would eat whatever I wanted which clearly consisted of the wrong types of foods. I always knew I should be working out & eating right, but I thought it was…
  • Modify...don't leave the ground at all or just walk in place for the moves you cannot do. Plyo is good, but the whole goal is to just get you moving around for 45 minutes. Maybe you can find something else you like doing on that day or kenpo twice since that isn't as much wear and tear on the joints.
