  • Just to piggy-back on this ... if you have an Apple or Android device, Insanity Tracker is a free download and once you plug in you weight, height and activity level it does the Beach Body formula to calculate loss calories (or gain calories depending on your goals). With month one, be careful with the calories burned…
  • I do my workouts in the morning, generally because THE DAY happens and getting it done first thing is the only way to ensure it'll get done. I completed Insanity before, my workouts were done 5:30-6:15 month one, 5:30-6:30 month two. In terms of exhaustion - you have to make sure you fuel your body and get ample sleep the…
  • I have an HRM so I created a custom exercise and logged my calories ... you can use "high impact aerobics" as well
  • T25 is great ... with regard to price, you may want to look into Weider Ruthless w/ Steve Uria - I snagged it for only $29.99 at Walmart - 20 workout videos on 10 DVDs, all 20 minutes each - hardcore, non-stop. You can do one or stack them - do one in the morning, one in the evening. Same concept as T-25 and at 20 minutes,…
  • Do you have a desk job? How is your activity during the day otherwise? Any possibility for you to raise activity during the day or join a gym close to work?
  • Me too :drinker: Avoid alcohol, salty foods and spicy foods :noway:
  • I’ve been through a couple of these things … BodyMedia is probably the most accurate but I didn't like that it wasn't easily concealable ... especially in the summer; a day at the amusement park in July gave me a nasty tan ring where I wore the band. Visually you can see that it’s a monitoring / medical device and for…
  • I did today  I used to work out in the morning religiously, did Insanity ... routinely went to the gym around 5am - I love it. No crowds, no BS.
  • I have a membership at BJs *feels left out*
  • Take measurements to monitor progress I'm one of those people where the scale is always slow to budge ... I'll lose inches, my body fat percentage will get lower, my clothes will get loose but the scale will remain the same :grumble:
  • I've heard stranger things ... just google "kicked out of planet fitness"
  • I have a membership at Planet Fitness and another membership at a "lunk" gym - they are both $10/mo. One is better for cardio, the other is better for strength training. The open 24/7 thing at Planet Fitness is what prompted my joining - I hate that my other gym closes at like 4pm on the weekend. At the Planet Fitness…
  • I thought it was just me ... even if I fit it in my macros alcohol throws me off :drinker:
  • I love Bone Fish Grill, yeah - who would look at the Bang Bang shrimp and think that's 4 servings? The thai coconut shrimp is like 100+ calories PER shrimp - the order has 6. You don't get spared much with the entree, the Florida Cobb SALAD is 1000+ if I'm not mistaken and that's before dressing is applied. The fish is low…
  • Yeah, I love their holiday short-bread cookies with the frosting - they push 'em on you whenever you get a meal, mark down the price and if you have a Panera card, you get them as freebies every now and again. I break 'em in half - leave the remainder in the plastic for another time or give it away. 200 or so calories I…
  • Do you have a Wii Fit game and board? Gold's Gym Cardio Workout is a great game, I found the Zumba game to be trash. Workout games are usually dirt cheap.
  • I just signed up presale, $10/mo - no committment. I have a $10/mo membership at another gym which I plan to keep. Since it has an extensive strength training area. Downside, it only has about 20 treadmills (during peak hours this can be a true annoyance and if you go with a buddy its impossible to get machines next to one…
  • If you have an Android or iPhone, look up an app called Smoothie RX and Juice RX (both are from the same developer - the later is a free app) - they give loads of recipes and its searchable based on ingredients and specific ailments as well, excellent resource. Here is the smoothie I had this morning, ~ 150 calories:…
  • I have the zip, got it for $50 with free shipping on Amazon - love it so far. For me, less is more - I didn't need sleep tracking etc and I didn't want a device I would have to charge or hook up to my computer. I have the Fuel Band from Nike which I have since stopped using and its part of the reason I didn't get the flex…

  • I got a Fitbit Zip, only $50 on Amazon (a 1/3 of the price of the Nike Fuelband I got as a gift) and OMG, I love it so far. Simple, it syncs with my phone via bluetooth and with MFP and makes the adjustments based on my activity. Its easy to hide, hooks on my bra - so no questions about it - no one knows I have it on but…
  • Great summary, pretty much sums up what I was thinking ... thanks.
  • ^^^ THIS. I'll give it a world - both are no-committment, so if I determine at a later date I'm not utilizing as much to justify both ... I'll cancel.
  • Sure, I can workout at home or outdoors - but I like variety :blushing:
  • The selection of cardio machines isn't as extensive - which makes going to the gym during the evening afterwork rush pretty bothersome.
  • Yup, I weighed myself this morning just to SHOCK myself into the post-holiday workout grind :noway:
  • Yeah, me too - got stronger, lost inches but the scale didn't budge. Funny enough, I started T25 and dropped more pound-wise the first week than with the whole Insanity round.
  • Don't pause the video ... Shaun T encourages you to dig deeper, but not to sacrifice form - you can take breaks as needed but don't stop or pause the DVD. He tells you to take a break - even the fitness professionals take breaks during the workout if needed.
  • Article link?
  • THIS^^^ I was never a fan of cottage cheese ... tried Breakstones and another brand, hated it. I tried Friendship 1% (Fit To Go) and loved it. I costs $1 at Fairway so it doesn't hurt to try and I don't feel the need to mask it, I can eat it straight up - top it on crackers etc. 16grams of protein for less than 100…
