Hey ladies! Just wanted to let you know that if you're interested in a wedding group, it might be worth joining the 2012 Brides group on MFP. It's been getting a lot more active lately, and it would be great to see even more brides-to-be there! (Also, congrats to everyone!)

Feel free to add me! I am getting married on October 20 and I'm fairly active around here. I love to talk shop on both fitness and wedding stuff :).

I like to bite off the tip, sprinkle on a little bit of salt, then crunch up the rest of it. More satisfying than pretzels! (Plus they don't get wedged into your molars like pretzels do).

TDEE is total daily energy expenditure: all the calories you burn in a day (including exercise)

The art festival was the First Sunday festival in downtown Annapolis. Every first Sunday of the month in the nice-weather months they block off a street for painters, photographers, knitters, jewelry-makers, people who make planters or sculpture out of old cutlery or bicycle gears, and so on. It is a lot of fun! So Monday…

Awesome hike! I had a mimosa and wandered around an art festival. I feel good about only eating half of the mountainous bagel and lox. We're doing pizza and game night tonight, so temptations about. I think I'll plan to eat a banana first, drink only water, and limit myself to no more than two slices of pizza, and one if…

Great job resisting temptation, Tabatha! I love the all-in-one-place spreadsheet idea. Let me know when it's up on Pinterest so I can steal it?

Hmmm...stir fry could be yummy. Thanks for the tip! Also, jealous of the perfect hourglass.

All right, starting point: Starting weight: 129.5 Measurements: I don't know for sure (no tape measure at home), but the last time I measured at my parents' house I believe I was 35-28-37? Good stuff: I ran for 15 minutes this morning on the treadmill in my boss's office at 6.0. I broke a sweat, but finished it…

Welcome in, hmgrady! I especially like your challenge to plan all meals. I think it makes a big difference.

I haven't done any of Jillian's DVDs, but I recently got into hot yoga (not quite full-out Bikram, but a 90-degree room is plenty for me!). It's great stuff, and I like that the whole body gets attention.

Hells yes to all of these, Libby! May's been a rough month for me for eating right (my birthday, Mother's Day, Memorial Day weekend, and my fiance's birthday). I've gained back almost everything I lost by not exercising enough and indulging way too much on weekends on all the greasy, salty, sugary food my little mouth…

Tattoedmaide, planning my meals has been a HUGE help during the week. I think my trouble has been partly that because I lead youth group on Sunday, I eat with the kids, which means pizza or fried chicken most times, and I would often buy lunch on Sunday instead of bring something to church. The other part is that because…

Woohoo, we have a group! Hope everyone is geared up :). Since June starts out with a weekend, my first goal is to (finally) eat healthy on a weekend, and work out twice. Goodness knows I need it after the past wonderful Memorial Day weekend of Thrasher's fries and Candy Kitchen fudge!

Sounds great! What kind of workouts are your favorites?

pasta with ground turkey and broccoli, seasoned with garlic, fennel, and red chili flakes.

Can of tuna and a can opener?

Would it help to have some form of event to mark your success? Maybe taking on a physical challenge that you couldn't do/were scared to do before? Running a 5K or 10K, climbing a mountain, signing up for surfing lessons...there might be something that represents "progress" or "freedom" or "strength" or whatever resonated…

At the time, I was about 20-25 lb over. Now I am 5 lb over.

If I log privately and hold myself accountable (I use MFP because it's more convenient than a notebook for me), then I don't see why inviting strangers to hold me accountable adds anything extra. This is unrealistic, unless you are also asking friends to fully disclose the whens, wheres, with whoms, and the underlying…

Buy baby spinach (same price as bagged lettuce, so you can afford it if you can afford salad), shred it up and put it in meatballs, meatloaf, spaghetti sauce, etc. You'll see little green shreds, but you won't taste it (promise). If you have them cut really fine, you may not even notice the texture. You seem to like raw…

Up water................................but to how much? cut down on sodium.............................but to what? [/quote] I think you'd need a professional to assess you to give out precise numbers. My weekend food babies tend to resolve themselves when I go back to being mindful of how I'm eating. If you want to cut…

We're getting married on October 20 and are spending 8 days in Bali! It's off-season there, and we've read up that we can expect temperatures in the 80s, with a brief (30-60 min) rain in the afternoon but overall sunny weather. Fiance loves rain, so he can frolic if he wants to. I'll use the time to take a catnap inside :).

I've been celebrating my birthday all week with different friends and family, and my diary's showing it! I am also working to shake off the cake, pie, etc. and focus on getting back on a healthier track.

I think the grunting thing is a sliding scale... "mmrph" is totally fine. "HHHRRRNNNEEEYYYYAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!" not so much. Tongue in cheek here, but really, for those who are very serious about fitness and take offense to the "no lunks" identity PF has, it seems to me that those rules are just based on providing a…

I started it with a groupon and love it. Haven't made it to a class in a little while due to finals, but will be back next week after I hand in my last story! I was amazed by how much stronger it made my abs. As for logging, I put it as hatha yoga even though I think I'm getting a harder workout. I'd rather underestimate…

If the word "exercise" makes you groan, maybe stop exercising? By that I mean if you frame it in terms of "go outside," "play," or "I had a long day sitting at work, I can't wait to stretch my legs," it might feel more appealing. My best friend teases me for being like a puppy because even on days when I can't be persuaded…

I'm in a similar situation tonight, going to an end-of-semester celebration for one of my classes. I calculated a glass of wine, 6 crackers with cheese, fruit, and a cookie (or three)--not enough to fill me up for dinner--and came out at 750 calories!!! Don't know how I'm going to manage being full and keeping within…
