That one dude in the other thread... My head still hurts from that.

Fruit's not inherently bad, but it can be high in calories for the amount of satiety you get. Just make sure you're not spending so many calories on fruit that you don't have enough left for protein and fats.

I know, right? I was thinking they'd be perfect for me since I tend to binge on an open jar of PB, but 260 calories is too rich for my blood.
-
Did you hear they are predicting a prosecco shortage this year? I've already started stocking up.
-
It really depends on the brand. Some of them are just tall socks, some are a little more like shin pads that a soccer player would wear. If you are looking to order some, I'd check on Amazon.com because the customer reviews tend to be really detailed. You'll easily be able to tell from the reviews whether there's extra…

I would need like four bento boxes stacked on top of each other to not starve...

I wouldn't set my settings to sedentary. All that's going to do is have MFP predict a really low burn for you and then award you a TON of extra exercise calories. I adjusted my activity setting to whatever caused to roughly arrive at what my Bodymedia tells me I burn every day (I think I had to set it to very active, even…
-
I love my Bodymedia tracker too - I've found it to be extremely accurate! My guess is that MFP has underestimated how much you actually burn. It's not that you actually (necessarily) did 300 calories worth of true exercise, just that you're burning more calories than MFP predicted. I had the same "problem" with mine. On a…

Dumbell in a backpack? I'm kidding, that's probably a terrible idea. If switching gyms isn't an option for you, I'd listen to jemhh - she knows her stuff.

The best cardio is whatever you enjoy enough to keep doing it, and keep pushing yourself at.

There's about 96 calories in one shot of vodka. So if you mixed it with a zero calorie beverage... A 5oz glass of PG has about 120, depending on the alcohol content.
-
Well... most of the calories in wine are in the alcohol content itself. So, switching to another form of alcohol isn't going to save you too many calories - a few if you switch to something with no sugar content, but not a ton. If you like wine, just enjoy wine in moderation and work it into your calorie goals. Maybe save…

Is it that you're struggling with motivation to abstain when all these high calorie foods are around the house? Or is it that you have a hard time telling your husband no? As in, you don't want to be the fun governor that says no, I don't want to split a pizza, no, I don't want to go out for ice cream, no thanks, I don't…

My typical lunch is either chicken salad (as opposed to a salad with chicken on top), tuna salad, or leftovers. Feel free to check out my diary, I pack my lunch Monday-Friday every week (except when I'm traveling for work).

Seattles Best makes my wallet and my taste buds happy. Gotta be the #5 dark roast tho, brewed so strong that light does not pass through it.

Ugh, my brother's close friend is pushing this on his Facebook page (actually, I think it's his wife making the posts for him). I love this guy dearly, he's been like a little brother to me for more than 20 years, but I get so frustrated every time I see one of these stupid posts. At least people selling overpriced tote…

Are you sure you're logging everything correctly and using accurate entries? I have a similar number of calories to work with and eat similar foods, but frequently go way over on my protein by dinner time, and then end up eating giant bowls of steamed veggies to get my fiber caught up.
-
Where did ya'll get your fractionals? I'm going to need to order some soon, but the places I've looked charge a fortune for shipping...
-
Totally this. Then if he says you should do cardio instead, you can say "I didn't ask you to tell me what kind of workout to do, I asked you to teach me these 5 lifts. Are you capable of doing that, or do I need to find someone else who is?" Feel free to substitute with "Are you capable of doing that, or do I need to let…

Oh god, that sounds so good.
-
It's so, so good! The pumpkin tastes exactly like the pumpkin cheesecake I make for thanksgiving.

It just makes you sweat. You can achieve the same thing with some body lotion and Saran Wrap.

My reason for limiting access to high-cal, low-nutrient foods: decision fatigue, which studies have shown to impair judgment for additional decisions. I make dozens of critical decisions daily in my professional life. I try to avoid having to make too many elsewhere. So I would rather decide once on my weekly shopping trip…

Ugh, no. When I started lifting I wouldn't even use the gyms pad for the bar when I did squats. I preferred to just hurt.

As a native New Yorker (read: I'm used to that) I can tell you how to deal with this. You make this gesture: And yell "Vaffanculo!" At the top of your lungs. Then just keep on rocking on with your awesome self.

I was thinking it had the same name as the villain from the 80's classic FernGully: The Last Rainforest, but a google search indicates that was Hexxus.

My first thought was a muscle strain, but again that would be a bruise... Just not from an impact.

Ten points for using "cool your jets." I haven't heard that since my granddad (an Air Force pilot) used to say that to me when I was a little girl. I'm going to say it all the time from now on!

I have a friend who has done CrossFit religiously for 3 years. When she goes on vacation, she visits a local CrossFit to keep up with her workouts. She doesn't look bulky or super muscular. She looks... regular. Actually, at the moment she looks 6.5 months pregnant, because she is.

Well, yeah. You should try to eat something unless you're vomiting.
