Is your right foot slightly smaller than the left (this is pretty common). Are you familiar with the heel lock trick using the extra eyelet on your shoes?

Hello.... automatic designated driver!

Edited, because I opened the OP's diary. I can't even...

I am a total lifting newbie - just started a month ago and I love it! 1. 3 times a week is good. I am doing Stronglifts 5x5 which is a 3 day a week program. Eventually; I may switch to a program that has me in the gym more frequently, but 3 a week is a great start. 2. That's totally up to you. If you're nervous about…

When I arrived at my first date with DH, he already had salsa on his shirt. I thought it was adorable.

I just work sweets into my calorie allowance...

Eat what you want. Pretending to want something else is crazy. You don't want to have to pretend for the entire relationship. Be you. Find someone who loves you, the real you. Anything else is setting you up for heartache down the road.

I really like the Igloo PolarMax coolers. The hard sided ones will keep stuff cold for days, no exaggeration. The soft side ones are probably better for dragging around campus all day, and they do a respectable job of keeping things chilled in my opinion.

You won't look more ridiculous than anybody else lifting. I started at really low weights especially for upper body stuff and nobody bats an eye (and I work out in a gym of competitive bodybuilders and power lifters). I literally use the curl bar for overhead presses. I recommend you get a few training sessions and try it.…

To ensure optimum protein intake, make sure you're eating a brand where the very first ingredient is meat, not corn or soy!

Drinking apple cider vinegar can curb your appetite a bit (by making you feel like you're gonna puke) but that's about it.

"Carbohydrates are usually the body's primary source of energy. Since a very limited amount of carbohydrates are consumed, fat becomes the primary fuel source for the body. This rapid breakdown of fat produces ketones that spill into the urine, called ketosis. Ketones in the urine are desirable. While in ketosis, most…

Yes you can. At that low of intake your body is literally burning your muscle mass. You can do this for three or four weeks, and then what happens? You go right back to eating like you were before and gain all the weight back?

Yeah, it sounds pretty dangerous to me

Oh dear. Is this medically supervised?
-
Yep. Look up stalls and whooshes. I've got $20 that says you're about to see a big drop and all that squishy stuff will vanish like magic.

236.588 ml in one cuP. In the US, a "cup" is a unit of measure equalling 8 oz. A tip in case you need conversions, you can use Google to find out quickly. I Googled "One cup in mL" to get the above.

The only one out of those that seem to be popular is the mint chocolate, haha[/quote] Dammit! None of the other flavors sounded remotely appetizing! I think they had a berry one, the vanilla almond, s'mores, and maybe the white chocolate raspberry? I did the best I could with the information I had at the time, haha. I'm…

Addicted to food/sugar/ice cream/insert your vice here!

Wait, carbs are still the devil, right? I must have something to vilify.

Efffff... I've just arrived at the gym, and while changing in the locker room realized I packed light pink shorts and I'm wearing dark purple underwear. *sigh*

She's basically calling a McDonalds Fruit and Yogurt parfait a s'more? Oh hell no.

Awkward! What kind of workout pants do you normally prefer? I really like the Under Armour leggings - I buy them from the clearance rack at the sporting goods store that the filter likes to censor.

I just picked up a few Quest bars at GNC on my lunch break (FYI, they are Buy 3, Get 1 Free right now). I tried the Peanut Butter Deluxe as a snack - meh. It was edible, I guess. It looks like a lot of other people aren't fans of that one either, so I'm hoping I'll like one of the other ones I picked - Mint Chocolate,…

@Sephixteeo That has been my experience with fat loss, it gets soft and wobbly before it goes, and then suddenly one day it's gone. I have zero scientific data to back this up with whatsoever, but it seems to be "a thing" that happens. Here's an article (again, not remotely scientific) that indicates other people…

The guys will be along shortly needing pictures to make an assessment. Do you have a really good sports bra? As you lose weight, your breast size will go down as well. FYI, breast size has nothing to do with sugar, it's just one of the places your body stores fat.

Do you have any greenways or biking trails in your area? We have lots where I live - I had to spend $40 for a bike rack for my car, but I can just throw my bike on the rack and be on a really nice trail within 15 minutes. I find it's really peaceful, and because I can travel further in less time, I can explore new areas…

You don't need to exercise to lose weight. You just need a caloric deficit. But exercise is really good for your health, and will help you burn some calories so you can eat more  Walking, running, biking, jumping rope, bodyweight workouts, pogo sticking, dancing, at-home exercise DVD's, Pilates, yoga, carrying heavy…

I like running and cycling because I enjoy being outside and seeing nature. Are you exercising in a really boring area (or on a machine in the gym)? Can you find a more interesting place to run/ride? Maybe a class like Zumba or something would be more your speed?

Yeah, I didn't get that far... I got to post #3 and thought "*kitten*, this is worthless." I'm even sadder now that I know it's full of people's *kitten*, contradicting opinions. How is that helpful to a newbie? If I started off with that thread, I'd get overwhelmed and confused, leave, and never come back.
