  • Juicing is great, but i don't do it too often anymore. It always makes me feel great to have a large portion of a juice loaded with fresh greens from the garden. Good luck with your new juicer!

  • I like the way the Wahoo Kickr Snap folds up. That makes that one an option. Any word on the sound level?
  • Not a bad option for the price. I was definitely thinking about a fluid trainer, given the ease of use, ability to put it out of the way during summer, and the price isn't too bad. Oooh, that looks nice. That is an option. Thanks for replying.
  • I was considering one of those after i saw it on a GCN video, but i have to admit that i'm a bit intimidated by it. I can imagine that it would help with form and finesse.
  • It's not my job to research for you. How to use google to search for scholarly articles: 1) go to google.com 2) type in "Scholarly articles" plus what you want to search for 3) read what comes up Here is an example of what came up when i googled it: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4684131/…
  • Check into the peer reviewed scholarly articles regarding medically supervised water only fasting for more info.
  • Don't fast to lose weight!!!! Fasting has medical benefits, if you are interested in that, seek out a facility that specializes in DOCTOR SUPERVISED fasting, such as Truenorth. If you want to lose weight: 1) develop lifelong healthy habits. Things like daily vegetable consumption and exercise. 2) don't be in a hurry. Long…
  • You can get protein without getting it from animal sources. There's no cholesterol in beans.
  • Feel free to add me. I have given up my dairy addiction, and i couldn't be happier about that.
  • Agreed. Persistence is key to success. For me personally, i have had great success losing over 80 LBS, and increasing my fitness, and reversing several conditions, on a WFPB diet, like the one recommended by Dr. Greger, Dr. McDougall, Dr. Goldhamer, Dr. Esselstyn, etc.
  • You can absolutely gain muscle on a WFPB diet. I added strength training into my routine lately and i keep noticing that i'm growing in the areas i'm training. I eat nothing but plants! And i think the diet overall helps improve my fitness greatly. I can cycle a lot farther and faster than i could before, and i noticed a…
  • I have gotten into calisthenics lately, and absolutely love it. I can do body weight exercises anywhere, so that is very freeing. Check into some of the youtube calisthenics people, especially Chris Heria, as he has a bunch of advice for those just starting out. I was surprised at how quickly my form improved for things i…
  • Steamed potatoes, steamed mixed veggies, topped with some baked beans. A little salt and pepper. So simple, cheap, easy to make and yet incredibly satisfying.
  • I doubt it.

  • Wheat is one of the foods that has sustained civilizations. Just another crap book is my opinion.
  • I have been eating a plant based diet for 5 years. I love it and i'd never go back, i noticed a difference the first week, but it got better after a few months.
  • How to get enough protein: Step one, eat real food. (minimize sugar and oil; those foods have no protein.) Step two, eat enough calories. That's it. There is no need to worry about protein as long as you eat enough.
  • Incorrect. I ate less calories because i stopped consuming the most calorie dense food on the planet.
  • I've been eating plant based for 5 years. I have lost 80 LBS, and i am getting into calisthenics and ultra-distance cycling. Anyone feel free to friend me.
  • Berries, cherries, walnuts, pecans, freshly ground flax, bananas.
  • Distance Bike: Trek 1.1 with half frame bag, solar panel and battery, handlebar bag, MKS pedals, and, of course, the obligatory Brooks B17. Fitness/fun/grab and go bike: Trek 7.4 with hydraulic discs. Daily commuter: Trek 8.3 DS Gary Fischer edition, with 48V Lifepo4 e-bike kit installed.
  • This! Oil is the most calorie dense food on the planet. It's hard to keep a calorie deficit, when a tiny little bit of oil can add hundreds of calories to a dish. It has no fiber, and very little nutrition. It's hollow calories. Personally, i found that once i cut oil, my weight loss was a lot faster. I ended a plateau by…
  • Personally, i don't worry about protein. I used to, but eventually i realized that it was not necessary (to worry). People are trained by years of info being put out by industry into believing that protein is something you have to smash in, in large quantities, every few hours, or you waste away to nothing. It's not true.…
  • That's about the way i eat; feel free to friend me. Also, I wouldn't call it a low protein diet, (unless you compare it to a standard American diet, which is very high in protein) i call it an adequate protein diet. 10% is way above the minimum recommendations.
  • Awesome, and good for you. The only advice i would give, and this would go for any diet, is to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Greens are something to eat daily. Check out Dr. Greger's Nutrition facts page, and check into Dr. John McDougall. Stream lectures from plant based doctors who have experience with improving…
  • Easy, stick with low calorie density, high fiber foods. Basically, eat your veggies.
  • I have personally seen plastic bottles floating in the ocean far from shore, while i was visiting Asia, so i try to stay away from disposable bottles whenever possible. I also like the taste of my water at home (i have a reverse osmosis system), so for those two reasons, i go with refillable. I also bought a couple of…
  • Moving to a plant based, oil free diet was the best thing i have ever done. Every year of my life, up until i made the change, i was in worse health than the year before. I just thought it was aging. Every year of my life since changing, i have been in better health than the year before. I feel so much stronger and more…
