Good grief. I'm 5'8" and lost 30 pounds in 8 weeks while eating 2600-2800 calories a day. Yes, I also nurse my son, but my intake is soooooo much more than the rest of y'alls! I'm now in maintenance mode at 3000-3300 calories a day.

I think it depends on how old your baby is and how much other food he/she is consuming. I was SHOCKED when I first started counting calories while breastfeeding my then 7-month old baby.
