I use the Fitbit and my Garmin for running. I wear my Fitbit while I run, but use my Garmin numbers. The difference between the Fitbit and Garmin on my last run... a 4 calorie difference!!! I know, great, right?! I haven't had any problems while on trains, buses, etc. I absolutely LOVE the Fitbit. You won't be disappointed.

I absolutely LOVE my Fitbit! A friend of mine, who is a Marathon Maniac, and a member of the 50 States Marathon Club, turned me on to it. Of course, we use our Garmins when we run, and our Fitbits for all other activity. I find the Fitbit calories are highly accurate! I haven't had any problems. I can't live without my…

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I originally started my weight loss journey in 2007 at 220 pounds, obese. I lost 75 pounds in 14 months over at PEERtrainer. However, I've been bouncing around 10 pounds for the past 3 years. I joined MFP last week, and my nutrient numbers are very sobering. I'm looking forward to getting…

Hi Paula, I too consider myself a yo-yoer. I began my weight loss journey in 2007 at 220 pounds, and lost 75 pounds in 14 months. However, I have been bouncing up and down within 10 pounds of this loss for well over 3 years now. On a good note, I've maintained the 65 pound loss for 4 years now, so I like to consider that a…

I like a blend of Nutritarian and Paleo, but I don't follow anything 100% strict, no diet dogma here! I've noticed that there are ever so slight variances in the definition of Paleo from different websites and books I've quickly glanced over. I recently read, "The Paleo Solution: The Original Human Diet" by Robb Wolf, it's…

First off, congratulations on your phenomenal success!! Wow!! I'm new here, I just started this week. Thank you for starting this thread. Much appreciated!!

I'm 42 and joined this past week. The past few days I've stayed on target for calories, but I always go over on the protein and fiber. I believe the goals are just guidelines. I wouldn't worry too much about the protein if you are in your calorie range, and you are eating a balanced diet (plenty of vegetables to go along…

when I first started running, I use to get them all the time... I was building my mileage too fast. I found, that in the beginning, you have to build your base slowly. once you have a decent base, it is easier to increase mileage... well, for me anyway. I hope you feel better soon. shin splints suck! ;)
