I can't wait for January! I took the whole first week off to sorta detox if necessary. I've eaten some crap lately (2 chocolate chip cookies after a spaghetti dinner last night gahhh). I'm easing back into primal already, but still think I might get a little carb flu. My last whole30 in Oct was pretty successful I'd say,…

Mark Sisson tackled that question here: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/dear-mark-apple-cider-vinegar-dna-damage-lactaid-and-miracle-noodles/#axzz2GCuF2jfe So, while our caveman ancestors definitely wouldn't have had them, its kind of up to you. If you want to try em and have no ill-effects from eating them, go for it. If…

About time someone took santa off his high horse lol

Today I'm a nerd because I joined this group and feel suddenly at home :) and because I was taking my Christmas Vader bobble head off my desk at work and felt my heart literally sink. A talking Spock replaced him but still....

How about we go home and you handle my exception?

I like it on some good chicken or polish style sausages (filler and nitrate free of course), I mix it into salad dressing, I always put it in my tuna, brush some on some chicken breasts and coat with parmesan (if you do cheese) or some dried dill and bake. I also sometimes just dip meat into it for a snack. I love mustard…

I personally would just suck it up :P but I'm not a big fan of sweet things anyways, and I totally get what you mean...sometimes water is so boring! What about blending up a couple berries and add it to your water. I don't mean like a whole pint of berries to one glass or anything, but I'll bet about a 1/4 cup of berries…

I agree with this. Proteins should be a base of every meal, and then you fill the rest with veggies. The first day of my previous whole30 I did have one snack, but its discouraged. I took that one day I needed a snack as an example to bulk up my meals. I guess I'm having a pre-whole30 day today and my day looks like this:…

I had a pork tamale a coworker made while I waited for the apocalypse to start this morning. It was hot and spicy like I figured the end might be. No raining meteors, and no guilt from the tamale :) We'll see if it makes me feel like crap soon, but so far so good

I fail to see the issue with losing 5lbs in a month....

Clown shoes are so last year. Banana peels man...go old school. Or stick the baby's head in a plastic bag and watch em try to get it off....heeeeeeelarious!

I tried dukan.. Gave up due to the lack of fat. What about hard boiled eggs? Or veggie sticks and a Greek yogurt based dip mixed up in a little tupperware container.

I'm in. I seriously need to get back on track after the holidays

Gin and diet grapefruit soda (like fresca) is awesome

Start ASAP! You can even put it in this! I got my sister one for my newborn nephew and she loves it

Regarding olive oil: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/defending-olive-oils-reputation/#axzz2FXWzGh2c I think I'll side with Mark on this one and continue cooking with my olive oil (which is safely stored in a cold dark portion of my pantry, away from the stove and always tightly closed. And very good quality oil at that)

Here's a good UK counter that is by 100g/100ml: http://www.low-carbdiet.co.uk/Carb-Counter.htm

I do the same with chard. The ribs are pretty tasty, just need a bit more cooking than the leaves. My favorite way to do kale or chard, besides with bacon, is to sautee with garlic, lemon and some red pepper flakes. Kale and chard take really well to spice, but the lemon really brightens up the whole thing.

There'snnothing wrong with chicken soup without the noodles. It's the chicken that's magic, not the noodles :) I just sautee onion and celery until translucent, toss in my chicken (I usually use a precooked rotisserie one from the store), salt, pepper, some Italian seasoning and a bay leaf, cover with broth and it's ready…

Thank you! Some of these recipes sound pretty darn good

It can be tricky. I prefer to measure my solids as oz or grams, since one person's cup of broccoli might be slightly differentthan my cup of broccoli depending on how small the pieces are, whether or not the broccoli is packed down, if it's cooked or raw, etc. I find it easier and more accurate to keep liquids to cups and…

Sriracha!!! Garlic Lemon (I've been caught a few times just eating a lemon straight up...Love em!) Pepper, including red pepper flakes Cumin Chili powder Paprika Dill

Spicy or sour. I eat crushed red pepper flakes in my cottage cheese and on my fruit. I don't care if I look weird, I love spicy! lol

Great job! Keep it up!

More protein! I would also take a look at the protein powder, the sausages and the bird's eye broccoli and cheese. Sausages can have a lot of hidden sugars -- and so can that pack of broccoli and cheese. I would cook fresh (or frozen) broccoli unsauced, and add my own cheese on top if I wanted cheese. Those pre-sauced…

It should subside. Are you making sure to eat plenty of protein also? Protein along with the fat should keep you satiated for quite a while. I make sure to pack in lots of veggies like broccoli or cauliflower, brussels sprouts, dark leafy greens -- they're tasty and filling, and personally keep me full longer

Yup, it's pretty normal. I went technically 23hrs without eating Tuesday (ate dinner at 7p Monday night, didn't eat until 6:20ish tues night)...wasn't hungry the entire time. I'm not saying to do that or anything and I didn't plan to do it lol, but it's freeing not feeling starved ever couple hours. I eat when I'm hungry…
