  • That seems a really good price. I haven't checked the bulk sections of the stores I went to, mostly bc I hadn't gotten poo pooed by my hubby when I was looking for them, so I was just looking for a bag of them, Plus I thought I'd seen them at one of the stores I frequent. Perhaps I'll hit New Seasons at lunch!
  • Just wanted to let you know that OHP are effing hard and form is really tricky. I had to go to shoulder presses because I just wasn't progressing and I was arching my back too much. I just started w/the OHP again and I think strenthening my shoulders w/seated dumbell presses, (back to the upright bench) really helped),…
  • I will try to watch it tonight, but one thing I can tell you that I realized I was doing is make certain, when you get up under the bar in the rack that you tuck your but in to get it off the rack. If you lift it up in squat position, it puts waay to much strain on your lumbar spine. If you tend toward duck but as I do,…
  • When it starts getting close to your max weight you can lift at this point in time, clean and jerk just uses waaay too much energy! Get a bar pad! it will help at least a little with the nape pain. forgot to add that I added accessory exercises on Saturday, 3 sets of 10 leg lifts. For those I lay on the bench with my toes…
  • Almost daily I have a protien bar for breakfast and lunch. yogurt for a morning snack and apples and bananas through out the day, sometimes mixing in other fruits. I try to go vegie heavy at dinner + meat in some form. Week ends are usually eggs and toast. I'm considering adding a boiled egg in my weekly routine as an…
  • Was just too tired and glute sore to do my lifts friday so I did them today. Squats 125 OHP 55 Deads 140 which was really rough. Monday going for 130 squats which will be my high school bodyweight! Good job everybody. Don't remember for sure but I think i was at 150 on deads when I quit so almost there. except for OHP I'm…
  • hoping to find some bulk somewhere so I could get like a weeks worth or so. Esp if it helps with inflammation. In answer to oyur question I take 8k units of d3/day cause I'm trying to get my test levels up to 50.feeling full would be a bonus.
  • I wasn't going to comment because it makes me so angry I wasn't sure I could say anthing that would be appropriate. Then I thought about how when it happened to me the people who lived below me were all extremely large (I have lots of other super negative descriptive names but that is why I wasn't going to post.) I also…
  • prolly is for me! But then I've thought that before... the results of that thinking is going to be 7 in June!:glasses:

  • I was interested in them mostly for this: the insouluable fiber which will create a feeling of saety, mostly on non-lifting days to keep my carb cravings under control, and this: fat (9g) (57% of which is ALA) Which is supposed to be anti-inflamatory. Lately, I've been seeing swelling esp in my fingers and they are more…
  • stronglifts baby! go here and check it out. compound moves all the way. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/4601-stronglifts-5x5-for-women
  • Awesome LIzzie, great find! I really hope we can sell our bench set and find a rack, we will likely try to find the rac first, or maybe get really adventureous and build one. It actually doesn't look like a hard build. The hole drilling looks like the worst part. Since we don't neccesarily need full adjustablity we might…
  • ended up having a scramble for dinner w/potatoes obrien, which was quite a few calories, but thankfully I discoverd I entered the wrong yogurt so I ate less calories than I thought. doh! but at least it was a doh in the right direction. Tonight is barbeque chicken pizza. I may even make the crust since I can start the…
  • I pretty much stayed at 130 when i was fit and teenaged and I'm 5'4". But I did drop about 5lbs when I went to twirling camp and marched up and down hills. (houston is kind of flat) I couldda slimmed down w/more muscle, (no upperbody strength then at all) flat belly and huge hips so the hips might have come down some had I…
  • Thankfully hitting my knees only happens occasionally on deads, more likely on rows and then it's just because my body position isn't quite right. I'm sore and whiny today and hoping that this subsides by the time I lift tonight since I have to try a PR of squats at 125 tonight and I think it's also a PR for Deads, deads…
  • I do housework, dishes etc and have also added the hip opener excercises posted between warmup sets along with the shoulder dislocations. Oh, and on Bench day I do leg lifts between warm up sets, not working sets though, nothing more strenuous than picking up the house a little or dishes, or cooking.
  • Thanks Chris! Yeah IMHO isolations, endless reps and split days are a waste of time... unless you already have the foundation muscle and are looking to refine.
  • They also lose some of their vitamins and oils to oxidation once ground. Keeping ground ones around for a day or 2 or even 3 probably not going to lose much but pre-ground probably questionable that it lives up to its stats because of the oxidation process.
  • Unless you are going to do cardio, you will see better results from sl 5x5. Im a grl and I lost lots of BF and gained quite a bit of muscle w/out testosterone to help me. You have low BF from your pic, so what I would do is set cals to maint, don't eat back your exercise cals and do sl same weights until you want to do a…
  • That is so freaking Awesome! I will check the thread but will prolly have to go home to view photos, most are blocked, but oddly not the boobie five that rae posted. lol.
  • ha ha! Wish I could add this to my pics for my slideshow screensaver at work... pretty sure that would land me in hr though. lol.
  • It's so nice to come in from the boys room, to all ladies! Thank you all just for being here! I'm finally starting to get the energy back from lifting and my enthusasim for this program and the whole process has been revitalized. It is so nice to actually be looking forward to beating a lift again! I actually can't wait…
  • I have a tendancy to whack my knees with the bar, so I think I'm close enough. lol.
  • Thanks ladies! that makes me feel better about it. I have blood sugar levels to maintain, so I have 0 energy for lifting if I"m hungry before I start so I usually have at least a protein shake prior, (if not then I do my workout 1st) then dinner after if its ready, or another shake if I'm still hungry when I'm done…
  • for me msg actually leaves blisters on my tounge and produces loss of coordination and a tingling sensation at the base of my skull. my throat has swollen also. With the exception of throat swelling the ates and ites do the same. I do eat taters occasionally, but mostly I avoid them.
  • I love to cook! ... mostly. I get kind of tired of trying to come up with interesting items. A lot of that stems from living with a bunch of picky butts. I don't take rejection of my cooking very well, one of the reasons I decided a pro cooking career wasn't for me. I guess I mostly eat clean, but I consider clean to be…
  • AWSOME Job everyone esp newbies! Congratulions on starting, that's often the hardest part of this whole process. Oh, holy heavyweight I got past my 120lb squats last night and while it was hard it wasn't THAT hard! Wooot! Pretty grindy on the Benches 95 but not so much I feel I should do them again so next time will be…
  • We had already had the Tofu version when I found this thread, with marinara sauce. I didn't really smell anything with them. They were the HG brand. My husband is not horribly fond of fish, so I rinsed them multiple times in the bag then put them in a bowl of water in the microwave for 1 minute and then drained and put the…
  • Firstly, I clicked on your profile and only read one sentance that mattered in this discussion: "I'm a wife..." That tells me you are a woman. THAT tells me you have NO Testosterone. That tells me you will NOT encounter the ominous "bulking up" that so many women are needlessly afraid of... unless of course you are hitting…
  • seriously, try just hitting the air for 5 minutes straight like a boxer, you don't even need to use your legs, it will give you crazy freaking cardio burn! If 5 min is easy for you, aim for 15 etc. You don't need anything for that and you can do it anywhere, If you are too tired to stand you can even do it with good…
