Adding HIIT to cut
Has anyone successfully added HIIT and cut weight while still lifting. (by successfully, I mean without injury or compromising their immune system) If so, what did you do? Details too please. Belly fat has got to go and HIIT was the only thing that ever worked. But when things start to get heavy I find I either tend to get…

Anybody using the Skulpt device?
Just wondering how it is affecting your workouts, motivation, etc. Does it seem to align with what the scale and measuring tell you? If you're female, have you noticed different results based on where you are in your cycle?

Update for Irridia
Just wanted to say hi and thanks to everyone who messaged me. I had issues that required me to do labor other than wl for a week. Sadly after that my hip went into overdrive in the pain department. I almost had it better and then something else happened to it and back to pain. Just to add more fun onto the whole thing, I…

Cutting weight prior to competition
Hi everyone, For all of you who fight in situations where weight counts and weght classes are enforced, do you cut weight, if so how much and how many days before the fight do you start. Trying to help my boy, he has alternately not made weight and injured himself while last minute cutting. Oh and any dietary/hydration…

Introductions!
Not aming to fight, but I do have a teen who has had his first amature fight so always looking for stuff that will help him, and I'm a total UFC fan. Ronda Rousy is my hero but I want to look like Misha Tate! My main regieme is stronglifts 5x5 current stats are: Squats 130- last attempt before deloading is tonight, but I…

Ch ch ch Chia!
Any body using it, have good recipeis, anecdotal evidence that it makes you less hungry? The only concern I have is that someone on youtube said that it had high Omega 6 oils which we get plenty of already, and as I recall you don't want an abundance of them. Thus far I've only found them locally in one place, but then…

Food!!! Glorious Food!!! ...help?
I'm not currently logging, but I'm probably going to start agian in May (its a mental thing, I need a break) I still try to watch portions and macros (for the most part). Everything I've read says that if I'm going to go over cals, it should be on lifting day and try to stay under on non-lifting days. I'm generally not…

RE: my posts regarding bar position for low bar squats!
So I'm a PhysioTard. The idea of holding the bar at just above bra strap level is impossible, unless maybe you are a yoga maven and even then I wouldn't recommend it for anything involving weights, let alone heavy weights! This is what happens when you try to picture stuff in your head. To be fair, the position for me is…

Help for piriformitis which could be affecting your squat!
This is totally my issue! Piriformitis. I KNEW what it was, but no one would listen to me. Mostly because I'm over weight (which probably did contribute), They kept focusing on the lumbar region. This has been happening since '02 and I have (what seems to be permanent) numbness from hip to little toe. I went to a pilates…

Tate vs Rousy
From the mma corner website BEFORE the fight: "Unlike Rousey’s past opponents, Tate is an elite competitor who is well versed on the ground. She likely will be the superior striker in this affair, and brings a high level of wrestling into this match-up. Her combination of skills and experience will push Rousey far beyond…

blood glucose and losing weight while building muscle
from what I can tell, I need to do something every day. I currently lift 3x's per week on stronglifts prog, so I increase weight everytime I complete a lift successfully. On the mornings after lifting, my fasting BG is okay, but the morning after I do cardio only it is not so great mid 120 to mid 130 range usually. Cardio…

So called PTs
Why do so many of them preach the, "Just start where ever you like" "Do arm, leg splits" "Make sure you change your routine once a month" bs. I have no credentials after my name so I don't bother to argue. It's really annoying. My experience, the experience of others indicates that the only changes you should make in a…

NO Pink Dumbells- Ladies 5x5! Advice, support, comradarie.
I just read the entire 5x5 report from Mehdi at Stronglifts.com and had already started on it. In my reading there were no real members there that were female. The boards are closed currently so I can't find out anything from women's POV. There's already a general 5x5 group. But I was hoping for some gender speciffic…

NSV- Recovery... somewhat
In 2002 I had a strange anomoly that wound up with numbness in my right leg from hip to toe. It has never really been diagnosed as to the cause, nor resolved, though massage on the piriformis seemed to stimulate things. back then I could only do 3 body weight calf raises but could do 16 to muscle failure in my left. the…

HIITn it everyday?
So, I've had quite a bit of success doing HIIT (high intensity interval training) daily, but just cardio and bodyweight (focus on legs, running up stairs) and then was doing that in addition to morining weights on a daily basis. I moved to a more intense full body lifting session 3x's week and adding more body weight stuff…

Hip Flexors, Piriformus, Psoas,IllioTibialBand, + weak hams
So my hips often hurt really bad, especially after hard cardio. I have a desk job that doesn't allow for much in the way of getting up. I have resistance bands at work and I generally do cardo at work. I do locust to stretch my piriformis (my right leg has actually been numb from hip to little toe sinc '02.) I also do a…

Niacin!!! AAAARrrrrgh!
My doc wanted me to start a niacin regimine. (I think it was 1k mg/day, gotta call this afternoon to verify) I finaly got some last night and as w/all of my meds took it before bed. I knew it was going to cause flushing and some tingling. I was NOT prepared for the insane itching sensation ( I do have atopic dermatitis,…

Interval training and Blood Glucose Levels
So I haven't done it in the extreme lately and measured. But I busted my buns as hard as I could go until I couldn't breath in the pool and then did slow back strokes until I catch my breath and then do it again. For about 45 min to an hr. I would start off w/about 100 for my fasting glucose. I ate a banana before starting…

Recovery shakes: Whey or Soy?
Not sure if I need to add them yet, but considering if they help with soreness maybe having some post heavy lifting day. I've read whey is good, I'm pretty sure what I have and what I can get that is cheap is Soy. Is it helpful too? I'm guessing using Almond milk is critical for the soreness part due to the salacitic acid.…

Sick again today
Not meeting my calorie goals, I'm under by about 400 or so daily. I feel awful. It's upper resperatory so I don't feel like any cardio at all, not sure if is should push it and go moderate or just go for weights... Ideas? I'm also backing off the Byetta down to 5mcg instead of 10mcg x's 2/day because it kills appetite. I'm…
