When I BBQ/smoke, I start out with charcoal + choice of wood chunks for smoke. Once that step is done, I keep it slow & low with gas for several hours. It's much easier to control the heat and cooking time that way. All other grilling, generally I use gas because it's convenient.

I use Meijer (generic) vanilla 100% Whey protein powder, but we just got a Sam's club membership, and they have many others to choose from. We go through a lot of it, and it has a long shelf life, so I might go for a larger package from there. There was one with Jillian Michaels on it - it was the cheapest per oz. Eric

My quick snack is usually the appropriate amount of fresh vegetable (usually cucumbers or zuccini) with hummus, and either hard-boiled egg whites or a piece of string cheese. I usually eat a 3-4 block snack :wink:

My son (13yo) and I both eat the Apple Pie Spiced Oatmeal from the classic recipies: http://www.zonediet.com/0/zonediet/plans/zone-classic-recipes/zone-classic-recipe-detail/itemid/1703 It's a 4 block serving, and he normally eats a 3 block meal, but he has a long span between breakfast and lunch, so it works for him.…

Thank you for starting this group! I have been looking for some sort of zone/MFP connection. I have been on the zone diet for about a month and have never felt better! I read Enter the Zone. I understand why many people find it confusing and scattered. My mom has his other books, so I plan to read those as well.…
