Do ask your doctor for a referral to a registered dietitian. Meanwhile, my layperson advice is to eat per a Mediterranean diet, and keep your fat under the 30% default macro set by MFP. (But not too far under. The RD will help you dial this in.) Your library system will likely have several Mediterranean diet cookbooks,…

Hmm, doesn't look like @aleena2975 is going to come back. I wanted to ask her why she thought she HAS to eat low carb.

I'd ask whoever diagnosed you to refer you to a diabetes educator, and also to physical therapy - the therapist can help you design a workout plan.

Without knowing anything about you, here's my generic advice: Go here: https://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/change-goals-guided or More > Goals in app.* Put in your stats. * normal daily activities refers to your job. * Ignore How many times a week do you plan on exercising? - that does not get included in the equation.…

That's awesome! Way to go! How different do you feel?

Rather than debating the "fast metabolism" post, I'll just drop my favorite science-based resource for metabolism: https://www.aworkoutroutine.com/how-to-increase-metabolism/

Despite what I see on blogs, There's little evidence that most types of HRT make you put on weight. That said, exactly what are you taking and for how long? Decreased estrogen can increase appetite, but presumably you are getting estrogen, which should take care of that. I assumed you've talked about the night sweats with…

Like yirara said, the impedance type scans are notoriously inaccurate. I know that it is sometimes recommended for patients with eating disorders to not track calories. I'm wondering why a bariatric patient shouldn't track calories. You gained 10kg in 18 months post hysterectomy and it sounds like you haven't lost any…

I used to take Phen/Fen (Phentermine/Fenfluramine,) subsequently developed heart palpitations, and want to make sure you are an informed consumer of Phendimetrazine. How long did your doctor say you'd be taking this? It's only supposed to be used for a few weeks, after which time it is less effective, you develop…

WHICH YouTube one??? Ooo! Chocolate syrup and cinnamon! I'm currently finishing up some iced coffee that's half Starbucks caramel, half Teeccino almond amaretto (herbal coffee substitute,) plus sugar, half & half, and milk. :yum: I might try the chocolate syrup and cinnamon coffee in a protein smoothie...

Nutrient timing isn't very important for most of us:

I've had a knee condition since 2009; possibly part of why it's been so long is never adequately letting it rest, so learn from my mistakes  Do get a proper diagnosis and treatment. And if you need to lose weight, don't be offended when doctors say doing so will help your knee - it's just a medical fact. One of the…

Glad your insomnia is better! Are you still taking Gabapentin? While that did help me sleep, it's also associated with increased appetite, so I stopped taking it. I must be diligent about my sleep hygiene, and have been working on it for years. For me, that includes regular exercise earlier in the day, and stretching/yoga…

Yes, ditto with the VA. It once took me 5 visits to get a growth removed. It's a slog. I just learned the VA now does Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, which I'd love for knee pain. I supposedly got a referral on May 29, but the doctor messed that up, and supposedly got a proper referral June 26, but have the…

There are mistakes that people commonly make that cause them to not lose weight that we might be able to spot if you change your Diary Sharing settings to Public. In the app, go to Settings > Diary Setting > Diary Sharing > and check Public. Desktop: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings

Did you see our replies about the noise of ordinary, expected fluctuations on your other thread? https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10919317/why-is-it-bad-to-weigh-in-on-a-daily-basis/p1

Here's a great high protein snack recipe. You may wish to decrease the quantities to decrease the calories, currently 374. (Ethan has higher calorie needs than you do.) https://www.cookwell.com/recipe/peanut-banana-cocoa-crunch-bowl The video has slightly different ingredients, notably cocoa powder instead of nibs:…

My iron post was getting long, as it tends to do, so I split it up. I see that you track iron in your diary. I also see lots of cereal. Is this partly because it's fortified with iron? If you find cereal filling, ignore the following - I don't find cereal filling at all. In fact, it triggers me to eat more than if I'd…

I'm a veteran and get my health care through the VA. They're good if not great for ordinary things, but really dropped the ball on my uterus. Also, my GP was sub-par when it came to my anemia. After I landed in the ER, she referred me to a hematologist in the VA, at which point I started receiving great care. A veteran…

Even though NAMI is technically for US residents, perhaps one of the groups in a state that borders your country wouldn't mind you joining. https://www.nami.org/program/nami-connection/ Here NAMI lists resources for other countries, with two specific mentions of yours:…

I think both of these points are very important. As I said on the previous page, the first one happened to me back in the 90s when Fenfluramine was withdrawn from the market. If it's "not working" what may in fact be going on is that it's not enough to effortlessly create a calorie deficit. The formula is not (Inject Drug…

If you weigh daily, you will get an accurate trend line quicker in a weight trend app. But use the moving average or whatever your app calls it, not the daily reading. Too much noise in them.

I see the same picture twice. Did you mean to post a before and after?

If, over at least a month, you are losing an average of a pound a week (500 calories x 7 days = 3500 = 1 pound) more than your weekly weight loss goal, you are indeed 500 calories off and can adjust accordingly.

I'm assuming the IUD is "working" because it is a hormonal one? When is it due to be changed? Do you have iron deficiency due to very heavy bleeding? Do you have fibroids? How old are you? I can go on about this subject for some time, but first want to make sure my assumptions are correct. There are many ways to address…

I can relate to so much of this that it's hard for me to start. This really stands out to me: Are you still living with these people? I agree that addressing mental health first is a good idea. However, this will be extremely challenging if the people you live with are contributing to the problem. I just went through this…

I'd start here. Odds are exceedingly likely that you are eating more than you think on these days.
